Ok so I was wanting to organize my SD card buy I don't know what half that stuff is. I don't want to delete something that is crucial to my phone. And also how would I create different files for my 3d gallery I want to organize it as well.

Do you mean you can't reach them thru the stock gallery, or your file manager, video player, or all of the above?
Have you tried the app Rescan media, I believe it's called...?

I mean nothing that is SD card related can be found, used, played etc.. I truly believe my sd card died on me.. if so what do I do?? Get another sd card and be fine or??? Bcuz I am thinking of replacing this g2 with another but since my sd card seems shot does that mean I can't or re-root because I don't have the contents that came with the root??
Ps. I have backup roms but don't know how to put it on the what seems to 'dead' sd card. =Ditamae;19386527]Do you mean you can't reach them thru the stock gallery, or your file manager, video player, or all of the above?

Have you tried putting your card in an sdcard reader on your computer to rule out it being your ROM/device?
If your card is dead, then just buy a new one; you won't have your data but you'll still be able to root your new device if you chose to buy a new one.

I have this same problem. Data off my SD Card will get randomly deleted. At first I thought it was because I used a particular app or when I sent a file as an attachment.
I've tried multiple SD Cards with the same results.
hey yall just wanting someone to explain in simple terms how to move my apps from internal storage to SD card. like 85% of my internal space is taken up by apps. i know technically its not supposed to affect performance but i think it is in a secondary way. can someone please explain how to transfer apps and if it can be done with a file explorer app or if it has to be done in PC?
TIA
Go for Link2SD! One and only solution!

In settings applications manage applications click on each one. If the move to USB button is not greyed out hit it.

Just make sure you don't use a widget with an app you want to move. It won't work if the apps on the sd card.

I hate that some apps don't have an option to use the extSD, so I end up with duplicate folders all the time and things like 2 download folders in gallery. Is there anyway to remove the internal SD from the file list or something else that might work? Change the mount point around?
Thanks.

So I am trying to move music from my internal memory to my external micro SD card and I keep getting a error saying the transfer failed or when I try to delete a movie from my SD it won't delete. This is also using a brand new micro SD card. Is this a known issue due to KitKat?

Its not an issue, its a 'feature' that google implemented. Only the app that created the data/folders can move them. So if the files were put on the internal memory by app A, then only app A can move them instead of using a file manager. Its stupid and annoying and I'm waiting for a patch to stop the madness.
Thank you for the info. Hope they fix that soon

It won't be "fixed" ever, as it's not broken. That's how google wants it. The theory is that it's to address security concerns, as well as keep the SD card from getting as cluttered with apps throwing their stuff all over the place. If you want to make it how it used to be before kit-kat, rooting is probably your best/only option. If HTC had included a file manager, you could at least move files around on the card and transfer them to and from it as OEM/System level file managers can still do that. Since they didn't though, it makes it worse.
Anyone tried shifting files from phone memory to memory card? (from your phone) It wouldn't happen. Why is that?

Requires root - Nextapp SD Fix
Root!? just to copy and paste files from our phone itself? That's really stupid don't you think?

It's the way Android is going. There are plenty of articles around explaining why this is happening. Similarly, root is being made more difficult for developers to implement in the next version of Android.
I think it's a pain, but there's no point in getting upset. It's a bit like having a moan because winter comes around once every year.
I had the same problem even with root using root explorer. Had to use ESexplorer and it worked fine.
I believe you can move many files to SD without root if you use settings.
Settings, Storage, Phone Storage, make more space, then select the folders/files and move to sd card.
Did that. Now I'm having problems shifting things stuff with in my memory card. Through es file explorer.
