Anybody ever have problems with the menu bar on the home screen? My phone will not let me open the menu which would allow me to see all the apps on my phone. My daughter somehow managed to put one of her game apps icon where the menu button goes on the home screen. I'm running android 2.2 using cyanoginger 1.1, I've never had any problems except this one. Anyone have any solutions or suggestions? I made a youtube video but I can't post the link here just yet, the site says I need more post replys. If you go to youtube and type in "troubleshooting mytouch 3g slide" it should pop out. Thanks a bunch fir any help!

I'm asuming you talking about the button that opens the app drawer. All u need to do is touch and hold an empty space on ur homescreen, launcher actions, then open drawer, then drag that icon to the place where the game icon is. Hopefully that was clear enough

I did what u said but after I touch an empty space on my homescreen no where does it say "launcher actions." It just says widget, wallpapers, shortcut, and folders. Am I suppose to choose one of these options?

its press and hold open space, short cut, launcher activities, open app draw, when it creates it on the desktop drag it onto where the game button is
This happened to me right after I rooted and scared the crap out of me... But a google search lead me to the answer

For some odd reason I don't have the option "launcher activities" after I choose shortcut. Did I forget to install something after I flashed the ROM?
Edit: Never mind guys I found it. It was under the "custom shortcut" deal. I feel like such a nooob!! Thanks for all the help, appreciate it!

I installed tonight and love it, but I can't get my home button to actually go back to a default screen. Anyone have this problem? I set the home default as screen 3, but when I press home it just goes to the last screen I was on. Thanks in advance for your help! Hope I'm just doing something wrong because I love this launcher!

HTC YOU mp3 Sound?
Moved to it's own thread.
So I accidentally dragged a app shortcut onto the main button that brings up my app drawer... how do I undo this? I feel EXTREMELY stupid, but I cannot find how to revert it back...
Menu > Add or long press on homescreen > Custom Shortcut > Pick your activity > Launcher Actions > Choose open/close App Drawer. When it's on the homescreen, just drag it to shortcut bar.
Sweet Jesus, thank you. I figured out what the Swipe actions were for so as a work around had Swipe Up set to the app drawer... thanks!
What in the world are you talking about? Im trying to do what you said and i cant replace the app drawer. I know you can hold the app drawer for a few sec and drag up and place you apps at the bottom. (I perfer that settup

As stated above, the latest ADW Launcher allows you to not only put four applications at the bottom, but it allows you to replace the app drawer button with a shortcut to any app as well. I was use to dragging apps to the bottom to "trash" them, but the latest CM nightlys have the trash button at the top. So when I dragged an app to what I thought would be the trash, it replaced my app drawer button.
Ha, I did the same thing a few weeks ago. Couldn't figure it out so I went back and did a fresh install. Cue facepalm.

I've been running stable for 3 or 4 days now (it used to be my phone, but I gave it to a friend, who wanted me to update it for him and then test it) and I've had about the same battery life I did running CM 6.1-RC1. A little more or less depending on daily usage.
As for the ADW thing, I've done it about half a dozen times now on the MTS and the G2 (as in, a piece). I don't consider myself an idiot, although some speculate to the contrary, so don't feel bad.

The battery life didn't change in stable, but it's still pretty bad. I'm strongly considering going back to sense, but possibly a froyo sense, not sure yet. Cr_mod got horrible quadrant scores and was slower with a lot of things. I'm getting sick of low battery life though. if you really want good life, use a sense rom.

hey guys im using launcher pro and when I receive a new text message I get two notifications, the normal one u get and a seperate one I'm assuming from launcher pro that takes me to my texts and after I read said text the notification will not disappear, I have to clear it manually, my question is do anyone know how to disable it? thanks
Sent From My HTC Evo 4G Using XDA Premium App
Go into the messaging app you want to disable [stock] press menu > notification settings, then disable them.
thanks but I know how to disable the stock text but I'm getting a seperate message that i have never seen before installing launcher pro

Go to menu>preferences>dock settings....unchecked SMS notifications.

oops my bad I should of been more clear... I'm talking about a second notification at the top of the screen not on the bottom dock, sorry

Are your messages showing twice in the messaging app? You may be receiving them twice, hence two notifications.
What rom are you on & are you using the stock app or a different one?
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)
look at the pic, its the envelope at the top, that's not the stock message icon, that's from launcher pro, when I pull it down to check it now it says u have 0 messages, that's cool but why does it has to stay up there, if I receive another text the stock envelope will appear next to it, so I disabled the stock notification but nothing clears this unless I manually do it

I'm sorry, but I don't see a picture. I'm currently using LauncherPro (just installed it as well) and I have never received a message like that. Are you sure it isn't another app? Do you have any SMS related apps installed that aren't necessarily replacement apps? Or maybe you've installed something else recently?
One way to check if it's LauncherPro - next time you get the notification, don't clear it. Go into settings > applications > manage applications and find LP. Then force stop the application. If the icon persists then you know it isn't LauncherPro. While you're there, go ahead and force stop any recently installed applications and see which one clears it.
Oh, and are you using Google Voice?

thanks Jane I figured it out, it was some launcher pro service pack I had downloaded, uninstalled it now everything is good, oh I thought I had uploaded a screen shot on a previous post I guess not, thanks again!

Sorry to revive a 2 year old thread, but I just started having this problem myself. I have an HTC Evo V (Virgin Mobile) Everything stock phone. I get like a postcard looking thing that says "new message(s)" and won't go away unless I press "clear". This just started happening, and I wanted to know what was your fix.
Thank you
OK, so I'm willing to be the token newbie because this is driving me nuts. I want to replace the homescreen text msg icon with GO SMS PRO like I did on my Epic 4g. Anyone spare me a sarcasm laden solution?
Thanks!

Do u mean on the dock? It took me a while to figure it out too. Go your app drawer, make sure it's set on grid..and then drag the app you want to be in your dock down to where you want it
Go to apps
Press menu, Select grid
press menu, select edit (or customize, can't recall which command is displayed)
Swipe right/left between screens to locate desired icon
Long press desired icon and drag ic on to home screen icon area

I have a new N7105 - and i'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus. With the Nexus you can edit the icons in the bottom tray by long pressing then just dragging them around. However, on the Note 2 i can't do this? If i press menu then press edit, it only lets me edit the screens.
Is there any way to change these icons? I find it hard to believe they've locked these down.
The icons i'm referring to are: Phone, Contacts, Messaging, Internet, Apps
Also, just thought i'd add - i've searched everywhere for how to do this but none of the suggestions work.
I've tried pressing apps and setting the view to customisable grid then going edit from the apps drawer - this doesn't work either.
Also, is there a way to do this without installing a different launcher?
Hi I have the 7105. If I hold an icon in the tray draw I can move it to the home screen or drag it all the way to the trash can. I can then drag any icon from the home screen to the app tray.

I noticed in Australia the Optus rom does not let you move the shortcuts at all. Also if you want to move icons around on the home screen you first need to press menu edit.. so stupid. Installed an unbranded rom and now I don't have these limitations
