I have the CyanogenMOD Gingerbread nightly installed and at the latest release but I think that this issue goes back quite a bit. I cannot seem to accept an invitation in gmail for a google calendar event. I've tried clearing the calendar data storage and the application itself as well as gmail storage and the app. I have the 20110120 gapps archive loaded. Anyone fix this so the gmail app can accept invitations on any of the G2 Froyo or Gingerbread builds?
Thanks.

Hi,
I am a bit confused with the data sources used for the HTC sense facebook app and the "official" facebook app. The story:
I used to have the normal, facebook for HTC sense. I do not remember if there was another facebook app in the application list (standard 2.1 ROM).
I used to have my contacts in there and could link them to my Exchange contacts. When the latest version of the facebook app came out, I installed it and it worked fine. I did not try to link contacts for a while.
Recently I discovered that there are some of the contacts in the facebook app that are not in the list of linkable contacts. I suspected that the official and the HTC app used different datasets. So I tried to open the HTC version without success. I could not find a link to it, only to the official app. But both are in the application list. Also, in the market, I cannot uninstall the new app completely, only remove the updates. I have done this, and also removed the facebook for HTC sense account, to reset and re-download all contacts from the web.
When I try to reinstall the account now, it shows me next to flickr etc a facebook and a facebook for HTC account in the list, but I can only create one for the HTC version. I did this, but now, the list of the contacts is empty when I try to link exchange data to facebook contacts.
I can reconnect facebook before an after the update to the online version and download the contacts which will be shown in the actual application, but the "Link to" will not show any contacts anymore.
Any suggestions?
Hello, im Simone from Italy, i have my Desire Z with latest stable Cyanogenmod rom, all ok execept 2 problems with Facebook app (latest 1.8.1 version available in the market)
- chat doesn't work, seems run but then display a popup message "Could not retrieve friends list. Try later"
- the syncronization even if active and done doesn't sync calendar with my contacts birthdays, just the contacts phone
Any other experienced that problem?
Thanks.
Same here...
Facebook has the worst developers. My advice is to delete the app and just use m.facebook.com in the browser. As for your friends birthdays... who cares? =]
Hi
Miui_Au is fantastic and I have never had a problem installing or running this ROM.
I installed MIUI_Au v4 2.2.24 Beta, as under Applications the second on the list is “Calendar Sync fixed”
The Calendar Sync is very important for me as all my work reminders are stored on my Google Calendar. I see the Calendar Sync is now fixed. How do I activate this on my phone? When I go to Settings/Accounts and Sync, my Google account does not show Calendar Sync.
I expect there is something very obvious I should be doing.
Thanks.
Hi
Bumping this up as I'm sure someone knows the answer
Thanks
Check your settings in Calender as it will show what accounts are syncing to your Calender. There is also another release of miui-au 2.3.2 so maybe just flash the new rom instead.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks, the latest version worked as soon as it was loaded, great!
No problem with linkedin and others. But when I try to add Facebook, I'm kicked back to the list of accounts.
Tried to reinstall facebooks, tried to clear the FB data ad cache. Even was not possible to add FB account after installing a stock 4.0.4 ROM from google (after full phone erase).
Google and FB are not friends anymore?
Facebook's Fault
Facebook never made or modified an ICS version for there app. Consequently you cannot add account and phone will not sync. There are numerous fix solutions with root. My Gnex is not rooted so I simply use an app called SyncMyPix in Play Store. This app will at least sync you photos for contact purposes. Facebook just need to optimize for ICS and things will work better!
The issue is actually Facebook not using the correct API for contact sync and hasn't moved on the issue for over a year: http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/22/google-disables-contact-sync-in-facebook-for-android-only-nexus/
If you want a deeper integration on stock android like status updates in you "people" app you can get something like HaxSync (don't know if there is a better or free solution).
I was just wondering if there was a way to get back the default behaviour on stock roms of linking the 'place' in a calendar appointment to maps so you can launch navigation from there.
My assumption is that it's an expected behaviour, since we have to flash gapps separate and then install maps from the store - but is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that'll create that association somewhere?
Still haven't found an answer anywhere to this, guessing that it's no.
I'm running CM10 and with the latest version of Google Maps and Google Calendar. I created an 'event' in my Calendar hosted by me at home! When the event came up I could click my address and it opened Google Maps and I was able to press the Directions button to get to my house. This was obviously a test but it does work
Alright... think it's an issue with gapps package.
If you install the most recent gapps package (Oct 11/12) you still get the 'green' Google Calendar.
If you search the Play Store though, Google Calendar is available for download - this version will link to maps and is 'blue'.
