Hi everyone I have been working at this forever now and I am not sure what to do. I will first say that I am very new at this. I have an incredible which I got root access to by watching and repeating the steps on the you tube video. Without thinking I then manually updated to the 2.2 froyo manually. I have lost my tethering among other things and I was wanting to downgrade so that I can start over from scratch so I don't mess anything up. The only problem is that I can seem when following the you tube videos to get the the green recovery screen. Is that the clockwork recovery boot program because I never installed anything like that. I look forward to all of your help and support. Thanks Pat

Not sure if you turned S-OFF, or not, but it's a good idea to leave S-OFF unless you're returning it to the store, so just omit the part about turning it on.
Any questions, let me know.
Hey I tried that but it will not work.
you've gotta be a little more specific..what specifically doesn't work? What step is causing you trouble..etc...........................................

I talked to dadicus, and he said he marked it out because he hadn't tried it yet, and wanted to incorporate S-ON into it as well. He'll unmark it out once he's tried it and verified it works. I've followed it word for word (excluding the S-ON) part at least 5 or 6 times, and it's worked.

Hey everyone, my phone has a faulty microphone on it and it is less than a year old. Everyone I talk too whenever I'm on the phone say my voice sounds very muffled almost like I am talking though a pillow. I am currently running the NRG rom and no one else has this problem, and I've tried numerous microphone boosters and volume fixes. This phone is less than a year old so i'm going to take it to AT&T and see what they say. How can i flash a stock ROM and make it so they can't tell i ****ed with it
Read this thread, the relocker is towards the bottom of post.

Actually, near the bottom of post #2 of that thread, you will find the instructions to return to stock condition.
Basically flash stock ROM & radio > use relocker to relock SPL > good to go.
thanks guys appreciate your help
OK so i got the stock ROM, but I had some issues with the relocker...when i tried it on my PC the spyware flipped out on it and the .exe file didn't even work. How would i fix my phone on a MAC as thats what im using. Any Help?
Turn off anti-virus , download and install, turned on virus protection..
very very common issue.
well i only have mac now cause i went back to school. so how can i do it without an exe
bump any way this is possible on a mac? I really need help....
Also I was wondering is there anyway to block a number on your Tilt2...is there any application i can download to do this
ATT says its not possible
The flashing tools don't play well with Mac. Find a friend with an XP system. Vista and Windows7 "usually" work, but XP is the easiest.
For a call blocker, how about just using this websites search function to search "call blocker"? (yes, you will get some useful results).

They are correct, it is not possible. Also, better thread title next time.
I've been having many problems with unrevoked. Long story short, it doesnt locate my phone, so I'm unable to root it. Are there any alternate rooting methods that are fairly simple? I dont want to get too involved in using the terminal. Im looking for not so much an alternate one click root, but another one that doesnt take too much time. Any ideas?
Have installed and then uninstalled HTC Sync? Did you install the modified hboot drivers?

OP you need to do ^, that should solve all your problems.
I'm on a mac. So, I dont need the drivers. And I also cant install HTC Sync. It's worked before. But it just stopped working. I did it on a windows computer last, and it worked fine. But now, even that ones not working.
Hmm.. I have no experience with Unrevoked and macs. When you connected your EVO, are you sure it was in charge only mode? USB debugging is on?
The only other easy root method that I know of for the latest ota is autoroot, but I'm not sure if it works on macs.
yeah. thats all on. and it still hangs at "waiting for device". ill check into autoroot. thanks
Auto root doesn't work on macs. I have a Mac and can lead you through the manuall method on it. I don't have access to my computer for a few days so you might have to wait for hand holding, but I can give you the basics over email if you want.

I'm tyring to root my LG Nitro HD after I updated it to software version LG-P930-V10j-FEB-26-2012. Can I even root? Is there a way to root? If neither, could a very awesome dev find a way around the update? I would be eternally grateful.

Sorry, there is no way to root for now. I‘ve tried all of the methods. If it‘s so critically to you, come back to stock rom before update.
Sent from my LG-P936 using xda premium
Stock ROM
How do you go back to stock ROM?
Nitro HD root
Figure if you really want to root then do a factory reset.
Nitro HD Root
Nevermind, just realized that won't reset the update... I think we're screwed!!! On top of that, I think messing around trying to get my phone to root has really slowed it down too.

I thought mine slowed down a lot after attempting root processes over and over water I believe happens is the RAM gets clogged (I saw it a lot wen flashing different firmwares wen I was in the PSP hacking scene) so wat I did is just let my battery die all the way out and leave it dead for awhile maybe even take the battery out wen it dies for the RAM to clear

From what I have been able to find out we are not totally screwed... you need to use the "unbrick" guide found here. But I have not had any luck with this because I do not have Windows (I use OSX and Fedora Linux).
If anyone can figure out how to do this with either that would be awesome
Yeah I've been trying to follow the unbricking method that Machzelet posted but I can't get one of the programs to open in Windows 7.
Guys, all you need to do is to carefully read the guide and carry out step by step, as they have written.
UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe
Hey I'm just having this huge problem with UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe not running at all. I can't get it to open no matter what I do. XP Compatibility, Run as Administrator, nothing works. Otherwise the guide was going very well. Everything seemed to work perfect up until that point.

Well, there is no logical reason is that the program does not start. Try to download that is below and run it. I have it runs perfectly. If this fails, then the problem is in the PC.
Alright I'll try it again when I get home. I did try redownloading it and running through your guide on a different computer, and once again got hung up on that program. I'll let you know if this one works when I get home.
I am extremely frustrated having followed a guide step by step several times with out any luck. I have a GSM phone purchased from Google and running 4.1.1. I am on a Mac. The step by step guide seems very nice and very easy to follow but yet I get stuck 3/4 of the way through. I tried wugs via a PC but a horror show with drivers.
The phone has been unlocked. The screen tells me that.
Is there a nice tutorial to hlep me through this? What I have learned through 3-4hrs is that for some reason "clock recovery" isn't getting installed.
Any help is super appreciated.
Sorry for the frustration. I am a nice guy lol just seems like I am so close but yet so far from rooting. :crying:
Thanks in advance
I can help you out through teamviewer. Its a remote desktop control meaning i will see what you see and can guide you through rooting. I'll even help you flash a new ROM if you would like. Let me know install teamviewer and PM me the ID and Password and ill help you figure things out.
