How do I change the Icons of all the apps and not just on the screens/desktop? Or can anyone please tell how to use LP Plus to change all the icons?
Thanks
Not sure about LP plus, but with ADW EX whenever you long press an app it gives you the option to edit the app icon. You can rename it change the icon pic & a bunch of other neat stuff. I highly recommend it.

First u need to decompile the apk then locate the image and replace with another image. Compile ur app sign it and thats it. I still haven't learned the signing part but have been having a blast with ninja morph. Highly recommended.

If you mean the one below its in system/app/TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/res/drawable-hdpi and its called mainmenu_icon_application.
Grab a theme or rom that has this launcher included and unzip it with 7zip then go get it.
Is it possible to do that from my phone? Won't it tell me the apk is already installed? My computer is out of comission for a minute

Edit: I was able to extract the file but when I try to set it in launcher pro I can't find it... I can find the folder its in but it doesn't show up
Edit #2: got it just had to run the meddia scanner thanks for the help
No worries, glad it worked.

Home Icon
How to get the Home Icon from Touchwiz...see the attached (print screen then crop from TW), i need it very badly...
I was wondering if there was a way, and how to, edit the default app icons, so when opening up the app list or placing one on the home screen, the icon is one other than the original?
Thanks
You would have to change the icon in each apk file.

What rom are you using? Because cm6.1 and 7 nightlies you can pick any picture you want on your desktop only. I think there are some launchers that will let you pick also.

redemptive, but i have launchepro, so I know I can use the feature on that. But what I mean is: I have really nice icons i found, and I use SiMi folder widget. I can't edit the icons in the widget, those are the default ones in the apk. However, i tried editing the apk itself, but it disappeared when i rebooted, which seems to happen a lot.
Did you sign the apk after you got done editing it? Any third party apks will need to be resigned, any stock apks do not.

Last time i tried this using apk manager, it still wouldnt work, but i can give it another shot.
I get to signing it, but from there i try to install and it says "application not installed"
Do I need to uninstall the original apk first or something?

If you use adw or lp, you can do that by long pressing the icon and selecting a custom one. If not, you'll have to theme them

FINALLY I figured out apk manager for image editing!!!
Now my apps dont disappear on reboot and my widgetlocker is sexy again!
Thanks guys
How did you do it? Does it have to be signed?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Download apk manager from the forums...then when you use it on the apk, just extract it, don't decompile it, then drop in your image and zip it as a regular apk, don't recompile, and then sign it...that's it

Bear with me guys....I know this is a question and would be better suited in Q&A but Idt anyone in there would no the answer.....I want a red themes phone.....I was able to do the keyboard with HTC IME and I used uot kitchen for the status bar and icons. But I want more than just this....I want to make my sliding tabs on my lockscreen red with red icons. I also want red loading bars and status bars.....pretty much anything that was white I want to make red.....is there any way I can do this?

You need to edit images if your using cm7 or a Gingerbread Tom its in framework-res in the framework folder and in SystemUI on the app folder as for sense you will need to edit files in the HTC resources apk its in the framework folder if its a sense 2.0 Tom then inside of the I believe customize folder find an apk to edit(that is if your wanting to be able to resourt to stock theme) and edit that or just edit the HTC resource file like mentioned for sense sorry if there are any mistakes in this I'm on my phone and can't check for proper names of the locations.

Ok thanks for the info....what programs are out there that are good for editing these apks? I'm sorry I'm new to editing apks and this is my learning experience!
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Well to edit the images in the apk just change the .apk to .zip and look through it for the files you want to edit they will be images as for the txt you will need to edit the services.jar there is a guide on here somewhere that tells you how to do it just Google changing txt color in android notification bar.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I'm not worried about text color I already did the notification bar I'm more concerned with the lock tabs and loading bars....the small green accents here and there
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Those are in framework-res if your on an aosp rom so just open it up and play around.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Also what program should I use to edit xml documents?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
That's something I'm not exactly sure of you will need to decompile the apk first if I remember correctly then u edit never took the time to research how to decompile bit after its decompiled you should be able to use several programs just Google for one
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Well I changed apk to zip and then extracted....there weren't a lot of images but there were a lot of xml documents that had titles that looked like they were for what I needed to edit so now I just need to figure out how to edit them....I know a lot of html and basic javascript so from my understanding it should be easy but my version of visual studio won't let me edit xml.....I need another program....recommendations?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Go into it and look for the hdpi folders there should be about 600 images if your in framework-res
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Found it....looks like quite a job! Any idea where I could find replacement icons without having to re edit all of these?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Just edit the hue in Photoshop or paint.net its real easy I use paint.net plus its free and lightweight only 3 megs and does a great job
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
So I'm using paint.net to work my way through the hdpi images....when I'm done do I just rezip the framework file with the stuff set to store and then change extension to .apk and then rezip the Rom and flash it? Idk how to apply my changes

Flash it? Did you make an updater for it or did you replace the files in a ROM that you're going to flash? I personally just push the .apk via ADB shell.
How did it go

I did the xml editing for all the status bars, vol bars etc on my old Eris to change them to blue. Wasn't too bad, just extracted the XML where the current colors were all listed then edited the raw xml with a hex editor and put the new colors in (backwards) then applied, was pretty cool....
edited alll the files that I wanted and re packed them into my rom (skyraider) then just flashed the rom as if it were a nightly update (no wipe data/factory reset).....It worked great! I mucked a few things up here and there but overall it looks very slick....I've officially made my first theme for skyraider 4.0! Wasn't too hard at all....But now that I've done all this work there's a few images I can't seem to find that I want to change the color of....Mainly the highlights press color on the select a connection type dropdown and more importantly the volume popup bar when you increase the phone volume. Also I'm interested in trying to edit some apps like the market and the messages list......and my keyboard so I can get rid of the green in the candidates bar but unfortunately I think these apps are "signed" or something.....Does anyone have information on editing apks like that? when I try to edit them it seems to work correctly until I try to install it on my phone....Input on how to change these apps and the volume bar and everything else stated would be greatly appreciated.....And many thanks to odst for being as helpful as he has been with all of this. This has been a great learning experience

Sorry I didn''t realize you had posted the answer to my question about vol. bars.....Where do I find this xml and more importantly how the hell do I open and edit it? I can't figure out how to open these xml's for the life of me
I have looked and searched and i cannot find a thread on this and i am thinking i might be barking up the wrong tree.
I run the stock launcher on cm7 and super cm7 and i would like to change the color of the three icons on the bottom or the homescreen and thats it. Colors of everything else i want to stay the same. Is this even possible?
I do not want to run lp or adw. I'll stay with green if thats the case.
If you change themes with the theme chooser it should change. That's if you don't mind switching themes.

Not to be a **** but the OP says I want everything else to stay the same. Why would you suggest switching themes.
Guess ill just figure out how to export this theme and change icons myself through theme manager. I was hoping maybe someone would know a quick and easy way of changing the color.

you should be able to modify the dock pngs in the launcher apk without trouble. I've changed colors around on a vanilla launcher before... just decompiled the launcher apk, changed the pngs I wanted to change, compiled and replaced the apk.. voila.
Awesome. Thanks.

You can use ninja morphology, that's how I got mattedblue colors on my stock launcher. Although ever since adw ex got updated I've been using it.
got the decompile thing down. guess all there is to do is find out how good i am in gimp.
thanks again
Why don't you use adw ex? It's so much better than the stock and you get to keep the gingerbread dock but customize icons and their colors...You really cannot go wrong...
I would like to has anybody found a way to to change or add icon packs while remaining on stock touchwiz launcher now I'm rooted at this time but I would like to keep touchwiz launcher but change how my icons look any help would be helpful
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
It's very simple actually to change apps and system icons if you are rooted and running custom recovery. That's how all available themes works. Launcher doesn't matter.
Get some theme, take a look at the zip folder/file structure inside and you'll see how easy is to replace any kind of apk resources making your custom icon pack.
Try anycut or bettercut and or desktop visualizer.

yeah there is man. ive been using this for a while. took be a while finding it at first myself. cost a couple bucks i think, but its totally worth it. some icon packs dont work but there are only a few
