Hey guys,
it seems i ****ed up my phone.
I rooted it, and while rooting it some error was displayed on the screen "dev/block" couldn't be created but continuing or something like that.
Though unrevoked said it worked. but now when i reboot the phone it gets frozen @ HTC-loading image and doesn't continue
i can wipe it what i want with recovery but it doesn't work at all.
can anyone help me?
the error message was, because i had no sd card in while rooting it i guess
edit: and i can't find the ROM .zips i downloaded to my sd card via the "choose a zip to apply"
You do have to wait a while for the root when it reboots. How long have you waited?
You can install a custom ROM or you can use the RUU to return it to stock and you can repeat the process again but with your SD in this time. Best option is to get a custom ROM and do it that way.
Since his rooting was the process which failed, better flash stock ruu and try it all over again.

Put your phone off. Hold volume down + power on until you are in the bootloader. Then select recovery.

everything worked now... it seems that my USB-cable was the error-creating-one.
Thanks though!
Good to hear

Firstly, I'd like to apologize if this info is already somewhere on this forum or the web but I've searched endlessly since yesterday trying to find an answer to this.
The gist:
- Rooted evo using unrevoked3
- Stock info: hboot .97; radio 2.15.00.09.01; kernel 2.6.32.15-ge2fb08e
build 3.29.651.5; pri version 1.77_003; prl 60670
- Flashed CM6.1.1 rom > tried to flash to a myn rom and had issues flashing going through ROM manager or through bootloader, screen kept freezing on white screen
- Somehow it came to be that the phone would endlessly loop on the bootloader screen and I couldn't get the CM6 rom to load either
- Ended up using a RUU (Supersonic_WWE3.26.651.6_Radio_2.15.00.07.28_NV_1.4044signed)
- Now the hboot is .93 and bootloader shows S-OFF but I dont have root access for some reason. I've tried doing the unrevoked3 process but even after uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and that whole process the unrevoked3 program would not recognize my phone being connected to the computer and in device manager it showed my phone as a portable storage device instead of under android phone like the first time around
I have no idea what to do to regain root so I can flash roms on it again, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Try reloading factory settings then go through root process.
Then flash a ROM using ROM manager (its what I use).
Or just load into bootloader and install .zip from there. Another easy way to flash new ROM.
Sent from an unknown ROM using an unknown device in some scary place.
Can You get into Recovery? If so do a Restore of the CM6, then do a factory reset. Then Flash Myns

Thanks, I tried that but it didn't work It didn't change anything or allow me to go through the unrevoked3 process. Even after factory reset bootloader shows S-OFF with hboot .93
Any other ideas?

Can't get into recovery .. get the black screen with red triangle with exclamation mark in it. If i remember right I was never able to create a backup of CM because when I tried the flash of myns I checked backup rom and every time I tried that it lead to the phone freezing on the white evo screen and eventually went downhill where I had to use the ruu just to get back up and going

I had this exact same problem with CM6 about 5 days ago, got the screen with the phone. I ended up letting the phone reboot, letting it sit for awhile. It loaded up normal. Got on Home screen., then went in Rom MGR, selected boot into recovery & it went. i did a data factory reset, then flashed a back up of CM6, rebooted, then flashed Myns

Ah I see .. well I guess my situation is a little different since I had to use the ruu I'm basically back to factory settings but after using it my S is set to OFF which I find weird .. not that I know much about rooting android but from the little I do it seems odd. And I dont have super user in my add drawer .. installed rom manager but said it didn't have SU permissions
this stuff is frustrating as hell

It sounds like you don't have a custom recovery installed any longer. I would start your troubleshooting there and see if that helps at all.
Just go into the market download superuser should give u Su. If not then good news is you have s off just find a rooted pc36100.zip like a Sprint lovers version can be found in the universal root method .... if you have s off you can install in unsigned roms .. once that's done install Rom manager after superuser app is installed and flash recovery from the Rom manager first install clockworld if you want then flash ra

Using the latest Rom Manager in Market (ver 3 if I remember)
Clicked Clockworkmod installation, Rom Manager identified DHD correctly and installed Clockworkmod accordingly.
Proceeded to do a ROM Backup but upon reboot, DHD shows the red triangle so everything is halted.
Did much searching in XDA and outside but could not find solution.
Anyone can advise?
If you can still boot up normally, try simply installing the custom recovery again.
Ok i managed to resolve this myself

can you plz tell us ur experience and experiments and how u solve it
Oh.. basically I did a S-Off and all become ok.
I think without S-Off, somehow HTC replaces Clockworkmod automatically everytime there's a reboot.
Once S-Off was installed in, all is ok.
My friend gave me his phone today, I had previously rooted it for him and installed a rom, he said he tried to flash a gingerbread rom not really knowing what he was doing, and now the phone boots directly to the bootloader screen, it also can go into a green recover, from recovery I try to install zip from sd and sd shows nothing, I'm more familiar using odin with samsung phones so any suggestions would be helpful
You could always take the SD card out and put it directly into your computer and copy a rom to it that way, put it back in phone, boot into recovery and flash from there
From recovery toggle ms ( or something that sounds like that) plug it in via usb then copy a Rom, to the SD card.
Your friend probably formatted everything thing including the sdcard during his attempt to flash, which is why there is nothing there.
If his recovery don't have SD mount, feature (ra has it, clockwork not sure) u will have to pull the SD card and copy a rom to it, or u could possibly use and to push the zip to it,

Confirmed clockwork mod has mount usb storage. its under mounts and storage>mount usb storage

Simple he forgot to flash the gapps.. AOSP roms you have to flash the gapps separately and if you dont it will boot loop to HBOOT... what rom did he try to flash.. Also please let him know that if he had read the OP fully he would of known to flash the gapps as well. Let me know if this was the problem... Good Luck
Mount usb.since its green im more than likely assuming its Amon RA recovery.connect to PC and copy the ROM of your choice, and follow prerequisites if any.usually a data/dalvik/cache and factory reset via recovery will suffice.then just flash from SD--->chose zip file--->yourromzipname.zip then power to flash.

I tried to flash synergy and it got stuck at white htc screen
Edit:Flashed another rom in hboot with an PC36IMG.zip and worked
hello everyone i ran into a little bit of a problem last night. here it is, i was messing around with a new rom i got and i was using setcpu and i overclocked then i went back to make it normal again and it said it didn't have root access so i couldn't put it back to normal. so then i tried to go into superuser and it would automatically FC. so then i thought it would be a smart idea to reboot and now im stuck at the white boot screen and i cant enter recovery, i can go into bootloader and when i do it says that i have s-on but i know that it was off before i messed it up. ive tried to flash new recoveries and no luck anyone have any ideas? any help is appreciated
Could see if somebody has a stock rom that you could flash to get it back to factory state. On the bionic someone compiled a desktop app that does it once booted into fastboot. Not sure if any this helps but could be a start?

i would say try to reinstall super user, and go from there, or maybe search the market for busybox, and install/reinstall that

i cant even boot up the rom i get stuck on the white evo slash screen.
RUU back to stock or find the newest PC36IMG.zip and update through fastboot. I don't have the link handy, just search for the newest one. You already lost s-off somehow, so you won't be able to flash anything but a signed HTC rom anyway. Once you get it booting again just reroot and off you go.
Well, I bought the HTC HD a9191 morning, from other people.
I asked the device is returned to the stock rom so that I can upgrade by my self.
Fact, the seller just this unroot devices.
Now, I can't install a custom rom ...
When I try to install new custom rom, my dev get 7 vibrate and then blank screen.
I try to root by Kingo, easy ace root, windroid and FAIL! : ( Device restart and get 7 vibrate again!
BUT when I try to force out the battery and I try to turn it on again it back again, data etc.
I try to wipe the system in CWM also unsuccessfully.
Please help.
This may be a very frequently asked question, I got confused with the answer that much people say 'cause the give many option
Thank for advice
My device S-OFF and now stuck at JellyTime 4.2.2.
I've try to back to stock rom.
When I flash the radio.img, FAIL again!
I try to search in google for the error code, and I found try the dev with s-on.
Now, how I can get my dev back s-on without root, can I?
Thank for your advice.
Please give more info. Do you have Cwm or stock recovery? All you have to do is power the phone in fastboot mode and flash recovery. If you fried your radio I don't know if you can fix it.

its seems to me that you need an RUU
download the RUU as PD98IMG.zip it includs the system data radio recovery...everything
put it on your SD card (not in sub folder )
press and hold the vol.down and the power (reboot to bootloader)
it'll scan your SD card for the PD98IMG.zip
and then chose to install it
then do the S-off and root
falsh recovery..
that worked well for me
