I'm assuming this message was for me ?
Anyway, I was going to send the Google Talk ".apk" stripped from a current rom. It should update through the Market whenever there are updates to the Google Talk application. It is the actual .apk and can be installed from the sd card through any file manager. (My Files, Estrong, etc.)
I just couldn't figure out how to attach it so I was going to PM/email it.
Oh I'm sorry I was just joking around like y'all were making a covert package drop with the file I am curious about the market notifying when updates were available...you have any insight?

HAHA! No problem!
I'm not sure if this is what you are asking, but you can open the market, then click menu, then settings and make sure that the drop down list choice is set to "notify me" and it should notify you of any updates to programs that you have downloaded from the market. (or apps that it "thinks" came from the market) This should include any apps that are free or paid.
Hope this helps!
Rooted Incredible running CMW 3.0.0.8 and CM7 rom and I am having a problem with the facebook app.
This is after a factory reset & clearing of the caches and installed this app from the market...didn't restore it.
Opening up facebook works fine & navigation is good. I've tested everything else, but when i try to go to messages, the app crashes. I get the message "Sorry! The application Facebook (process com.facebook.katana) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." & gives me the option to Force Close or Report.
Any advice would be helpful.
Might be just an issue with the app as mine has started doing something similar after I got the latest version.

That does not mean it's CM7 in relation to this FB issue.

looking under the review section for the app in the market, you'll see a lot of folks are complaining about the new update having lots of problems.

I used Titanium to roll back to 1.5.1, latest 1.5.3.
I'm using CM7 Final. It appears to be an issue with the new update.
Same issue and I believe the new FB update is causing it, I dont recall the error before.
The question I have now is where can I download 1.5.1 and use that until FB fixes the issue? Thanks for all the info. Makes me feel better its not something I borked. Man do I love cm7

Thanks! Appreciate the help. Hope this works
Synisterwolf...you're a frustration saver! Worked like a charm.
Well the feedback in the market tells me that everybody is having FC problems with it since the new update, not just us dinc/CM7 users.

The best part? Facebook hasn't even addressed the issue publicly. The SECOND best part is Facebook hired Erick Tseng, a lead Android exec, to work on their mobile front. Fist full of phail.

The thing I find rather funny: "New in v1.5.3:" blah blah blah... "Various bug fixes" Like, really? Lol

The 1.53 is a headache :X I am running CM7 and whenever I want to view a profile through contact it crashes, I open it, it crashes, I sync calenders, it crashes.
Thanks wolf ...it works like charm
Using Skyraider 3.5. The Facebook v1.5.3 works perfectly.
I was having issues with the latest update of the Facebook app. The worst part was that it seemed to bring down a bunch of other services with it, like Google Maps, Skyfire, Beautiful Widgets, and sometimes even LuancherPro.
I uninstalled the app and now FB through a Skyfire bookmark. No issues.
I know many people hate this app, but I am running the new Market and it says there is an update to Facebook but when I click on it I only have the options to open or uninstall the app. Anyone else having this issue?
I think you should try going back to the old market, wait for Google to put out the update automatically over the air.

Thanks for the Advice, but this was the only app that I have seen it do that on. All other aps have updated just fine. Also I bypassed it going to the Market via my web broswer and installing it that way.
That's a good idea... I prefer watiting for updates... That's just me though.

Its saying the same thing for me. But in the what's new area of the app it says version 1.6.0. Twitter is saying same thing about an Update
I downloaded an app's .apk from the internet and installed it onto my phone. Now that there's a sale going on in the marketplace, I tried to uninstall the app so I could buy the paid version of it. However even after the app was uninstalled, the Google Play wouldn't let me download the app. Any ideas on how to download the app? I already tried to clear the cache and data for the marketplace to no avail.
Thank you.

Mobilism did a piece on this and I actually bookmarked it. A "friend of mine" had installed a few cracked apps, and was wanting to go ahead and get the newest versions..
Anyway, here's the link:

Thanks for that article. So it seems that going back to an older market would do the trick.

It's a market glitch not one with our links. But my friend used the method above and it worked.

mmm... maybe the app isn't compatible with our device...
EDIT: no , i was wrong, i have downloaded it and it works here...
How odd.
Does it work if you log on to play.google.com from a normal browser and try to remote install it?
take a look here... this is what i've found
-recognize your browser, whether it is firefox, or google chrome, or internet explorer...
-recognize the version of your browser....
-remember.... different browsers have different ways of finding the version...
-and than you need to clear the cache files and the recent browse history, and cookies...
-im just explaining this to you generally...
- just follow through the guide here at this link.
- it'll help. hope it works for you.
Good Luck...
