I have been using leedroid for quite a while(got it when I bought it from someone) and I tried a month or two ago Insert coin and overs so now there are a lot of new HD roms so i wanted to know what is the most stable and fast?
ROMs are best to try out for yourself. Just read each ROM and see if it is stable and fast. There is a problem with 720p recording but apart from that, they should be fine.
actually the 720p porblem was fixed
I still go with InsertCoin after two weeks of testing. It's as advertized: fast and stable.
Sent from my HTC Desire
Same thing for me : Insert Coin is fast and reliable.
I tried Insert Coin and it is good, but for some reason RCSHD Mix is faster for me.
Insertcoin best.

Hey guys been using autax recently love the Rom currently on 8.0,but having problems with the more recent versions , tried downloading leedroid but won't download I'm in the UK and hear leedroid is more British based is that true
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
What does British based even mean?
If you want to download the rom:
Direct link: http://db.tt/JSnpstN
Dropbox folder: http://db.tt/IaHeWx7
You might want to wait because new version is almost ready and if you can it's best to start with a full wipe.
this is just personal prefernce, as i have insatlled both.
for me leedroid wins (ATM)
Sorry as in Apns and for example on Google search it would preference American sites and dollars instead of English and pounds
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
The APN list is suitable for most common networks all over the world and things like Google search is decided by Google based on your location.

Good to know , could you tell "us" why?!
Hopefully I'll receive my HTC Desire tomorrow, based upon this sheet and your answer I would also opt for Leedroid I guess.
I'm only doubting whether to try one of the Sense HD roms instead... The Sense experience looks very sexy, but I wonder how the speed and stability stack up...
Leedroid is actually the only sense rom i was able to use for a while. Looks like it's the most stable, least bloated and also pretty good battery wise. It was very well supported in the past, but lately the dev bought a DesireHD and he's now mantaining mostly his rom for that device, so don't expect loads of updates anymore.
@ OP - Have you considered giving Neo's alternative Sense based ROM a try? Im currently running ReflexTSenseHD v1.4.1, which is based on the Official Desire HD (FRF91) Sense 2.0 ROM. It seems pretty stable (not had one FC or any other bugs to report) and is a very good ROM in terms of performance - really speedy and smooth.
ReflexTSenseHD v1.4.1 is mega
Leedroid is a very good rom, but i love the custom theme that neo puts in.
it really is down to preferance
I tried the modaco r9 but adfree a while it became dead slow.
I'm now on Aurax T sense 8.0 from neophyte and I have to say it's very fast and stable plus it looks good too.

I would not put it this way. Lee just updated his desire rom and it's once again close to perfection.
I definitely recommend Lee's rom.

Just to throw a spanner in the works
I used leedroid and auraxt for quite a while.
auraxt 8 won for me
As far as HD roms go you could do a lot worse than baadnwz imho (very good rom)
but to top it all off i am now a decicated miui fan.
flashing the MIUI AU 12.17 rom in 2 mins. (australian conversion of the fantastic chinese rom)
Has its own dedicated site and a blog site is being done this sunday hopefully.
MIUI is a totally different experience and I love it.
Ive tried the RCmixHD rom which is good but gets a bit laggy sometimes, specially when opening apps, just wondering if anyone has tried most of the main HD roms and can give and opinions?
Only HD roms please ive tried everything else just bought a class 6 sd card so im trying them all out.
InsertCoin is damn fast
Try with superrom, is great, work perfect, but i dont know how put toggle in this rom.
I was pretty happy with ReflexTSense, there are few kernels as well with it, so if you get the 1000 one, you should have one of the fastest HD rom, OFC you will need to overclock your phone at least for 1113mhz(I actualy keep my desire on this speed all the time/on demand)
To make you even more unsure which one to use, i'll vote for Cool Sense HD (see my sig). It was the first and only ROM for me that impressed me with speed and stability. Also notification toggle works.
You see, it's a personal taste. You will have to make your own experiences...
I have tried RCmix and now running Reflex, reflex is a little quick than RC i think, but they were both pretty good. I might try Insertcoin tonight.
Thanks!
9600xt Desire HD is the fastest hd rom atleast title says dat..
i m gonna try it now...
i have tried rcmix hd,insert coin and cool hd v7,v8...i liked cool hd...but when i upgraded from cool hd v7 to v8 i failed to download apps frm market duno why is dat...
anybody else had dis problem wid cool hd v8
How about trying Cool HD and Z ROM? As the title says, That is the rom which fitted in NAND. It is, sometimes, faster than some normal sense rom.
InsertCoin is fast, too. It feels similar to Cool HD. But for me, I prefer Cool HD.

For me its ReflexTsense, tried all the others but always go back to this. I have had higher quadrant scores with RC Mix definately, but for useability and actual speed when working Reflex is great, no FC's, no lag
Regards

My vote for this!
Because we don't consider speed alone but stability also.
The most stable and fast i found so far.
I agree about rcmix HD, it is too laggy.
I've been running Aurax TSense on my Desire since long now, it's v8.4 currently.
I've seen a number of new ROMs out there but am scared of testing them all because of the time needed to set it up for daily usage.
I've looked for a similar thread in the first two pages of this forum with no luck. That'd mean that any thread related to this very topic could be quite old.
Now, what I'm looking for?
0. decent battery life (1.5 days currently)
1. stability (of course)
2. the FM Radio and the 720p camera need to be fully working
3. the audio player needs to support both OGG and FLAC (I hate MP3s)
4. the alarm clock needs to support multiple alarms on a weekly basis.
I've been using Aurax because all of these features are in place there.
And I'd like to test something new for the sake of curiosity.
I'm not embracing any UI religion nor any other fancy thing: if it's compliant with the above list, it can be OK.
What'd be a good hint/choice, then?
Well do what i did switched from Neo's AuraxTSense rom to his ReflexTSense it's a DHD rom ,works just as good as his Aurax
As for other Sesnse rom's i dis-advise ,cuz they're old and not updated, and most DHD sense roms i've tested are laggy [except for Reflex]

DHD?
What's that?
It is a ROM ported from Desire HD.
Insertcoin hd 2.0.1 data2ext version
IMO the best HD rom you can use, incredibly stable, very fast, pretty much stock HD rom with a few tweeks
But, do HD ROMs work fine on non-HD phones?
i recommend you the great RCmixHD ROM
And yes it works good
I use oxygen rom and it's perfect for me. It has all the features you pointed out except flac playback (which I'm not sure of) but it can be done by installing 3rd party media player, tho. Bettery life is very long (longest of all roms I've been testing so far) and with normal use calling, texting, emailing, fb, internet, music etc. for me it lasts approx 35-40h. Of course can be even longer with some less "activity". And other thing is, oxygen is very up to date. You should try it for your Desire.
I use CM7.
Have tried most of the Desire ROMs available on XDA but at the end of the day, I always go back to Cyanogen. I feel (and please don't quote me on this, I'm only speaking for myself) that CM is one of the fastest and smoothest ROMS out there even though I only get around 1500 on quadrant. Also, battery life is pretty good as well I also like the range of customization available for this ROM.
BTW, this is my first ever post on XDA even though I've been coming here almost every day for the last 6 months.
I love android because of you guys....thanks everyone

I dont trust benchmarks anymore. I've seen some benchmarks giving better scores with certain roms even though the tests took longer to finish. I wont say names because thats just lame, but it seems wise to trust your feelings instead of your numbers. Plus, if you are happy with a certain rom and it feels fast and responsive, scores wont change that.
rcmixhd rom is the best white robocik
I vote for Redux and GingerVillain!
Starburst with datatosd looks promising. I'm trying it out currently.

Hi, I would be very happy if all u rom/flash users
could help me and rate the best ROM for average use.
Whit average use I mean, Calling, texting, gaming and just regular use of the phone.
Thanks for all input u can give me.
Right now I am on LeeDroid HD V2.2.2 LeeDroid Kernel V2.2.9
Radio: 12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
I Think The Sense Roms from Mike1986 and Leedroid are good for overall performance(Y)
CM7 and the Miui rom are also good roms but without Sense.
If you're looking to improve battery life, you can try switching Radio's. (Radio tread in Dev section). I'm running the 26.06.03.24_M2 radio and get good battery life. About 1,5 day with medium usage and 1 day heavy usage.
All sense roms have its advantages/disadvantages. Its really up to you which one you choose.
Atm im on CoreDroid v 3.3 but i will test arhd 3.5 and the newest release of [email protected] when my internet is working properly again...

I really like the sense overlay, so im using android revolution 4 with gingerbread. Its excellent for day to day use, and has plenty of performance tweaks to make it really nice and fast
have tried a few of the gingerbread sense roms and the i found rcmix 5.9 to be the best so far, bug free as far as i can tell
Using RevHD here, not dabbled in other roms but its soo close to stock and fast and relatively bug free (and most bugs are rectified fast)
all round great rom
Thanxs all..
Thank u all for youre input..
I´ve just flashed the CoreDroid HD GD 2.3.3 v5.1 and I think it works fine..
Will see in a couple of days how good/bad it is

Hi.. I thought I would try CoreDroid 3.3, which RADIO are you on, and which is the recommended one??
Using LeeDroid's ROM here.
From what I can tell, the speed and battery life is excellent and I have hit any bugs on the ROM yet...
I agree though, full credit to all the Chefs here because all the ROMs are excellent.
Again using LeeDroid 2.2.3 here... excellent everyday performance, easily tweaked, absolutely fantastic!
Its just trial and error to find one you like, all Rom's are good! And all the chefs do a fantastic job at it!!!
What do you prefer? I use my phone very often to play games/surf over 3g, and i can charge my phone only one time a day. I also need working gps and maps. I'm not intersted in quadrant or other bench results, but i would like you to suggest me the best between this two rom in terms of speed and battery life.
Can you help me?
Sorry for the bad english.
Used insertcoin since it was v01 ,now its v41 and its the most stable and fast ever ! Haven't tested rcmix though....
Sent from my HTC Desire
Only ever used RCMix but seeing as InsertCoin is based on it I'd say it's better (no offense baadnewz )
Have used both
Prefer RCMix for battery
Insertcoin for Speed
I tried both, but i prefer IC.
Q: Why Rcmix has Call Delay Patch while IC not?
However, I didn't get any call delay in IC
