[Q] Rom Manager - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there!
I did a backup of my device the other night with Rom Magager and want to install it now.
The RM itself doesn't find it.
How should I install these .img files?
Thanks!

Use the recovery boot menu (vol down + power)

Can not instal ROM

hi,
I had a bricked device (USB and SD unmount)
I resolved the "brick" but now I can not instal rom from Rom Manager or from recovery
Rom manager is not puting device to recovery at all, I go throu all steps and when it says to push OK to go recovery nothing hapends
Eny thoughts on this
Try booting into recovery manually, see what happens. That is by powering of the phone and using the vol down and power button.

Resolved - done a trick with file "update" in rooting procedure, packed recovery image in it and flashed it from recovery (when in triangle screen press vol up and power)
After that flashed new rom and now everithing works as charm - well usb sync is not but I do not need it

Rom Manager (CWM) not allowing me to backup my ROM.

I'm trying to make a backup of my current rom and when I go to Rom Manager and choose Backup current rom, it then says can't mount system. I then tried going directly into recovery to try it from there and it says the samething. Anybody else having this problem or is there something I'm doing wrong? When I first rooted my G2 I was able to backup my Stock Rom but now I can't.
I'm running GingerVillain 1.4 if that's any help.

Its bcoz u have old recovery...u need to flash new clockworkmod recovery 3.....coz gingerbread uses ext4 system....which old recoveries do not support

U just have to download the new recovery.img file which u can find in this forum easily....put that file in the root of the sd card....then open terminal on ur phone n type these commands:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
reboot recovery
Thats it....n remember to rename the file to recovery.img if its already not that...coz that makes it easy to type n remember...

Then u'll have the new recovery....and u can easily backup and restore ur gingerbread roms....for froyo roms u need the old recovery...for that the easiest way is to flash recovery via rom manager....hope this helps...

HTC Desire HD not starting up after wipe

After i wiped my htc in recovery with Android revolution superwipe, i rebooted it by mistake without installing the new rom. Now if i start the phone, its stuck on the htc logo bit. Anyone got any idea how i can fix this?
Thanks
Pull the battery out
Hold down power and volume down button
Should boot into the android boot loader
Then use the volume down and up to navigate and click recovery with the power button should boot into your recovery system where you can flash a backup or new rom

Do you mean ROM manager? if that is the case, I believe there is. But I haven't flashed CWM yet, so I didn't check it.

Click to collapse
Rom Toolbox looks like a good App, a bit like Rom Manager......with more options!!!
I don't think our ROM's will be included in this app also???
However, if you just need an App to get into Recovery, or Reboot, Power Off, or Bootloader?? with just one tap, try Quick Boot. The free version should be OK for those options most ppl use!!
Quick boot is great but can't get it to work in download mode on are phone though all other modes work.
ps phone needs to be rooted to use it.

No more access to ClockWorkMod (ROM boots into recovery - if not, bootloop)

Hey, I just rooted my PrimoU and installed AOKP unofficial Nov 24-12. I had a few problems and did not make everything clean (I tried different roms, wiped and so on because I was stuck in bootloops). I ended up with trying to boot into recovery and AOKP boot animation appeared. Now it works fine but I cannot boot without going into recovery because it goes into bootloop (HTC with red text). I want to reinstall the rom because I cannot access recovery mode anymore (rom automatically starts). I tried flashing it with rom manager but it does the same thing. I want to change rom but I can't because recovery is not accessible even from hboot (power and volume down). My kernel is 3.0.16 HELLBOY. Please help :s

Thanks I will try it but will flashing a new rom wipe the old one and will I need to install another kernel or reinstall the same if I put a new rom?
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
that depends if the kernel is compatible with the new ROM.

Never use rom manager! It breaks your phone lol. Why can't you access bootloader? Press vol down, then press power and keep both buttons for 3 or 4 seconds then release power but keep holding vol down until it goes to recovery. Don't worry keep holding, it will work
