Hey.
I have a question that is already on topic. When i take a picture with my cam it disappears from gallery but remains in sdcard. Example: i have 40 pics and gallery shows only 50% or less.
I hope someone knows a solution for it.
I have stock latest android.

It's a known bug.
Install Rescan Media. It'll scan your phone and all your pictures and videos will be displayed in the Gallery.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Deleting the ".thumbnail" hidden folder in the DCIM folder of my SD card fixed the problem for me.
I installed the rescan media and it works for me.
Cheers

Anyone else got a buggy gallery? I mean when I look at photos sometimes it randomly goes back to the albums page? Its really annoying! Anyone else got this glitch? and is there a fix for it?

Gallery loads images and others very slowly. You should use quick pic app to see the diferences.

Use quick pic free from market and freeze or remove stock gallery app

yes, as everyone is suggesting go for the app Quickpic it can play video(not limiting it self just to mp4)
although you may not be able to view the facebook synced photos(which is not important for me)
cheers!!
Another vote for QuickPic. I don't really care for seeing fb pictures. I found the stock gallery really irritating.
None of my pics videos or music shows up in the stock gallery or in player pro. Although i can find the pics in quickpic I have tried searching for a solution to this problem but I can't find it anywhere.

Check for a file named .nomedia on your root folder. Anything with a period at the beginning. Delete it, reboot.

Search the market for any application that forces a media rescan. There are several, and this should fix the problem.
Anyone have any idea why my music folder, or files, would no longer be read by the music players ? I've erased caches, erased and restored, uninstalled es manager.... It happened after i tried PA and when i went back, its been screwy. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Recently I have problem with contact picture. Whenever I try to set a contact picture, after I select a photo, it does not appear as contact picture instead require me to select again.
And something puzzling me is that some of the whatsapp contact picture will be shown, but not all, some appear as blank though the person does have a contact picture.
PS: it is a virgin phone

Do you have a stock rom?

Yes.

Mm I really don't know. Maybe you can back up the whole thing. Go back to factory settings, see if it makes any differences. And put your backup back.
Or backup, flash RUU and then place your backup back if it is working by then.

Yeah I am planning to do so. Something wrong with the stock contact app. I can't even save /rename a contact
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Exactly same problem.
Stock ROM. Been to service station thrice but still same problem along with many others
So far factory setting solve the problem but I am not too sure whether this problem will occur again
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Hope it will keep working then!

Hopefully. So far I still really love this phone.

Facebook may be the cause
I found that if I use the Facebook app, all of my contacts change to the picture that they put on their facebook page. I just don't use facebook from my phone. I don't have that problem with Twitter.
Hope this helps.:fingers-crossed:
You can change the setting at facebook. Go to account - app setting - scroll to the bottom and then there is one called contact sync. You can select not to sync withfacebook contact

They show up in my gallery repeatedly. They look like malware pictures. I removed all of them once and they came back. So I looked at the details and found the file location. Removed the files. A day later they're back once again.

Some app is putting them there. I know that the Geico app puts silly pics on your phone.
Why is this an acceptable practice? It's like those airpush ads.
I deleted the whole appcache file and it still came back.

Torrents, stop using them on your phone lol.
Do you have any sideload games folders on your memory card? If you do, Gallery will create thumbnail images from those folders. The only way to tell the gallery not to read those folder is you must have .nomedia file in those folders. Good luck.

This might be the closest assumption to whats causing the problem. But its so convient to download torrents straight to my phone lol.
