So here we go again, the new galaxy s 2 series will be out next month and im stuck with this crappy epic 4g. I guess they are coming out with this cause the first galaxy s series was a complete failure in my opinion. So if we want a quality phone we will have too fork over more money to a company that just wants to sell, sell, sell. Maybe if they didnt try to compete with other companys as hard and focus on making a product better we wouldnt feel so ripped off. I for one will probably go with that other company.

Holy crap, 42 million views?? Why is he so damn special?
That video was funny. What a dumb ass.
LOL there is something major wrong with that nutjob... We should show that to samsung and sprint. LOL
lol personaly I think it was fake.
and back on topic, if you dont like your phone then go trade it in, if you want froyo so bad, then use a rom.
other then that just wait patiently, cuz I feel even though thre froyo was slow, gingerbread will be here sooner then everyone else.
Personally I don't think samsung is a ripoff. Granted I do prefer htc over samsung [mainly bc of htc sense]. Whenever a new high quality hd phone comes out for tmobile I get it. And I plan on doing the same with sprint as long as the phone deff has a keypad n front camera. Or at least a keypad and least froyo n hopefully gingerbread on new releases. [Evos so lucky they get official gingrbread update soon]
I don't mind forking 500 a month on a new phone .. but I have a spending problem and I love phones.
Since I need a keypad and front camera n the evo shift lacks a front camera and evo lacks a keypad I went with the epic. I already have the g2 for google. However I rarely use the g2. but I switch between my vibrant, mytouch 4g, hd2 and hd7 for tmobile.
I was debating on getting the nexus s for the official gingerbread but I think ill hold back for a new released phone.
People are constantly getting new phones and there is nothing wrong with samsung releasing better and newer phones for those people who want them or are finally upgrading to android/smart phones. Its just business and if you have a problem with your epic go get an evo or evo shift n be happy.

Whats with the Samsung hate aroudn here? Has anyone actually used an Evo? An update does not make your phone better...its just a damn update. The main difference between 2.1 and 2.2 is damn near non existant. 2.2 aint sht, its just flash. The difference between 2.3 and 2.2 is big on the Evo now because of the lack of Sense and the new UI changes, the performance is still the same. A 2.2.1 rom feels just like 2.3 imo. Nobody is really missing out on much, an update will not make your phone run like its on crack and there really arent that many features out there that is wild. Samsung made great hardware and not that many HTC devices can keep up. if all you care about is the updates then you'll probably never really enjoy your phone. Because the way Android is looking, I dont think there will ever be a phone that will always get the latest updates.
Ok I'm coming from a Hero where this 2.1 especially since it's fast feels great. I guess I have 30 days and I could return and get the series 2, I don't see the need though, what do you want to do so badly??

I'm going to have to agree with you seeing as how I have a friend with the Nexus S and yes I know quadrant is not accurate but I would just like to say my rooted Epic has scored higher than his phone with 2.3 so it goes to show that updates in oem software aren't gonna make your phone work at its full potential. And to the person who think sammy is a rip off you did have 30 days to return the phone or you could have researched phones a little bit before deciding the samsung epic was the one for you.
Sent from my Epic with Seven Sisters
Currently the Epic is one of the best hardware phone out there. Probably will soon change next month when the new models are announced. I recently bought mine for $200 at Best Buy at upgrade price. I knew new models will be out but will be at higher cost that I was willing to pay. And for what unknowns I'd be faced with the new models so I went with the tried and true model which is the Epic.
Granted Froyo isn't available yet but that's just software update. You can't update hardware unless you buy a new one.
I just want the everything on my phone to work properly. I am on a custom rom (midnight 3.1) which is the BEST i have used to date but i think when you buy a phone and spend that kind of money it should work correctly out of the box. IF medic can make a rom this good on his free time with children and sprint and samsung still havent got their **** together than something is wrong. With this update it will improve the features that im talking about. I have yet to even use my 4g and the gps is ok at best. I kept my phone after the 30 day mark cause they kept saying soon, soon, soon. now im begining to think it will be released eventually but i also think this will be the final update which really ticks me off.
Relax Francis. All these threads about people getting mad, calling Sprint etc. If your phone is a POS then sell it. Going from 2.1 to 2.2 is not going to make your phone go from a POS to awesome.

Great post!!!!!
I'm on stock 2.1 rooted clockwork with mobile AP and custom kernal and I love it it has everything I want in a phone and its the fastest on the market ATM, I've been through HTC phones and tries the evolution and I don't like sense or touch wiz I use launcher pro and I never need to show off that I h don't have froyo cause my phone is faster then all HTC phones I've compared too and best looking to not square.
If I want updates go get an evo I got this phone cause of all the kick ass hardware on it it doesn't leave anything out, unlike HTC phones which pretty much every phone leaves something out that I want and then I want updates to make it faster and cool things that I envy on other phones but my epic is the ****
Stop whining and *****ing about froyo and go get a custom rom or be patient!!! Also as soon as the source drops noobnls will start improving is running cm6 and cm7

Very,VERY true. couldn't have said that better. Unless the phones proccessor is a snapdragon, we get no love. Hell even the Vibrant isn't getting much love and that proccessor is supposedly faster than the snapdragon anyways. I just dont get whats the big deal with the whole 1GHZ snapdragon fetish everyone is on.. They act like the phone will constantly be on 1GHZ 24/7 and that its THAT much faster than a phone going at 800 mhz.. The only phone that im actually gonna consider a huge upgrade is that Mytouch HD coming soon. apparently it has +700 mbs or Ram and thats what makes it superior to me. Not the name of its processor.

Correction; the name of it is officially the myTouch 4g. Idk if you've seen the youtube videos, but the phones software is almost an exact copy of our software and the phone looks almost exactly like ours. Yes the phone does have the faster processor, better ram, front facing cam etc. but I would still hold off on that phone till the Nexus 2 comes out or an official Gingerbread running phone comes out. The myTouch 4g is the top of the line right now, but that's just right now. You should hold out a bit. Wait for something ground breaking. Why get a phone that's basically the same as what you already have minus the keyboard? Watch the youtube reviews on it and see if you still want to drop the slide for it. After watching the video I thought hell no cause its almost the same phone except processor, bigger screen, front cam and gorilla glass. Check the video out if you haven't and let me know if you think its still worth it. I think its worth it if your leaving from a phone without Espresso sense and you want to try out the new UI. Our phone is still pretty fast despite the 600mhz processor and we can root the phone and get 200 more out of it. Plus video calls aren't even standard yet so most of us don't even have any friends or family to do video calls with.

Well you shouldnt complain we have support from CM, by its self that is enough to keep this device alive for a while. Yes devs could build it for it but were getting attention from alot of people, just wait until we get full root well have more options and I think more roms will come.

Yeah i looked at that. Not really a correction since i knew that before reading, But ok You seem to be kinda saying what ive been trying to saying but i see your point in it. I know about the 4G and i think its nice but i don't wanna upgrade to it. Was just saying it was an "upgrade" of the phones we have available now if i was to switch devices IE Nexus vibrant etc. What i was trying to say was that we don't really have much dev support because of our "low-end" specs but i dont really find them so low end compared to other devices other than the processor speed. Im very happy with My slide and more than likely wont upgrade until an Android 3.0 stock device comes out. hopefully its not like the G2

I wasn't Complaining. Hell hes pretty much the only Dev we have (No disrespect to other devs working on our device) but that limits us to just stock android. He wont ever do anything other than stock so other roms that come to surface wont ever really be ported and thats my concern. And what do you mean when we get "full" root?
Yea, I'm waiting for gingerbread also. They claim gingerbread is supposed to be filled with 3d games. I don't play much games, but that would be cool to see.I'm anxious to see what the ui would look like. Android 2.2 is already amazing.

The software on this phone is incredibly stable, so I wouldn't be surprised to find out this is true. I just rooted my phone two days ago and I've flashed 4 Roms and I've had not one of the problems my friends have had with their Verizon phones (especially the Droid-series phones). I'm keeping stock CM til I find one I really like.
As to the whole lack of devs thing, when I *finally* found the ROM bible (I wanted to find a good set of Roms before rooting), I was actually quite impressed at how many we have. Between 2.1 Expresso and the Froyo goodness we've got nearly 2 dozen Roms to choose from, which is way more than I expected from a not-so-popular-because-we-don't-have-buzzwords-like-snapdragon phone like ours. Plus, there's some themed 2.2 Roms posted in the dev section not in the Rom bible yet. Since our phone has only been out for a few months, we're average more than 1 new Rom a week. I can live with that.

I wouldn't know because I'm still running a stock unrooted rom. This phone is not easy to root and I own a Mac which makes rooting even harder.
I guess HTC and google made sure that the software was well developed to prevent bricking. It is in a company's best interest to do so. They must of caught on to people who have rooted phones in the past and have bricked them then switched back to stock to make it look like it was a software issue so they don't void warranty. Company's lose money because of things like that. I guess that's why the G2 still haven't been able to get permanent root.

I'm going to wait a few weeks and see if there's any chance of a Sprint Nexus S. If not, I'll probably get it too. T-Mo is as cheap and even with a regular 3G radio under HSPA it's much faster than Sprint's 3G.

This is true. And the individual plans are pretty much the same now. Sprint needs a nexus. But the knight is coming soon. Its basically the G2 with sense.

My contract was exactly the same price. The only difference now is that I have 1500 "anytime" minutes as opposed to Sprint's unlimited mobile-to-mobile (which I can live without).

Swyped from Eva running Myn's RLS4!
If only it wasn't a Samsung, though having Google involved should speed up the response time on software fixes.
No thanks, its definately not a phone worth jumping carriers for...Actually I dont think that type of phone exists. Its a minor improvement to the epic, on a crap network. I aint missing out on anything, however there is a dual core 1.5 gz monster that is going to appear in a few weeks......(cough *Evo2*cough) and that will be exciting to see. Nexus S, not so much.
Yea, made by Samsung killed any excitement I had for this phone right away! I would like to play with one in person to check out the screen, the curve and of course 2.3
But the only phone that made me consider jumping carriers was the g2, even then I couldn't see it, but definitely not for anythign Samsung. I do hope being a google dev phone that it is still somewhat as successful as the n1 was... for the sake of androids future.

Congrats on the phone! Like many others said, it is unfortunate that it is a Samsung, hopefully Google backs it well. Unfortunately, with every Samsung phone I have ever had the hardware was complete crap, always had problems. AND I find it interesting that the phone came out today and there still is not a root method for the phone. I remember before the Evo even came out we had a root method. I think that this shows something for the developer in interest in the phone itself. Only time will tell and I may be proved wrong, but so far its not looking too good.

Hmmm not sure what your trying to say here. That is pretty interesting maybe I am wrong about support but in just black and white it seems like thats the case.
It is Samsung ... but it's also the only Samsung phone I'd even consider buying. Gotta agree though, got a good thing going with the Evo and Sprint is great around here - so it wouldn't make sense to switch phones ... let alone a carrier. And even if T-Mo speeds are faster on 3G than Sprints ... depending on coverage, that still doesn't excuse the lack of HSPA+ or no SD Card ... I dunno. I still hear people complaining about signal / reception with T-Mo. Just doesn't really make sense when you think of what is around the corner.
There will always be better phones. Always. But there will only be one (annual) true Google phone. That's it's main selling point for me. Everything Google (and a lot of top 3rd party developers) makes in 2011 will be based on the Nexus S.
ok so my evo 4g started having problems part of the screen went dead so i couldn't
tap numbers 4,5,6 and some letters also the usb port won't allow it to be charged anymore with the normal charger it came with i have to use my external drive usb cord to charge it on my pc
i shipped it to htc and i waited a week with no response so i call them to find out it has water damage and it be would be 300 to fix this wouldnt be a big deal if i had actually dropped it in water or ever laid it in something wet
i would had believed them more if they said it was dropped but water damage -_- i'm not going for that
so what new phones are coming out that are going to be better then the evo?
i have checked out the atrix 4g sgs2 and lg3d
wait for evo2
lmao evo2
if there is actually any evidence of a evo 2 link me to it and i would gladly wait
there is evidence of an evo 3d. first, an anonymous leak. then, go to now.sprint.com/evo3d and get linked to homepage. enter anything else after / and get 404 error. htc released evo at ctia, and thats next week. i'd wait.
yeah i will wait having phone shipped back
called them and tried to tell them it wasn't water damage -_- they wouldn't listen
so i got it shipped back >.> very excited to get another new phone though >.>
the evo3d better have monster specs
I am hoping the new HTC-Pyramid is the EVo2, or this phone is coming to Sprint.

It is supposed to, but the Nexus-One took like 2+ months before the official upgrade came out, while the Nexus-S was the sole 2.3 Gingerbread phone for a couple of months.
I am not too confident that the Nexus-S will be first in line to get the next big OS update. I see them coming out with a Nexus-3.0 first phone running "ice Cream" then later on down the road the Nexus-S will get that update, and then the Nexus-One.
I thought Google was going to do it differently ? If there is a "nexus" brand phone, it should get the newest OS right away, that was the whole point of the phone. But the Nexus-S came out with 2.3, and all the Nexus-One owners just kept waiting and waiting, for a few months. That was not cool.
i really enjoy my evo so if it were me, id replace it.
ctia next week should show us something that will prolly launch come summer time. possibly a wimax enabled nexus s if you like sammy mobile devices.
Did the litmus paper on the battery get wet? It should be pink.
ooohhh htc shooter sounds sexy maybe 3d?
sorry to dig up an old thread, but there's no point in making a new one. I've had random issues with my evo and want to upgrade, but i really like mine and the active community behind it. Any other phones have as many devs working on them like we do here? i'd really like to stick with HTC
I'm also thinking of upgrading...phone of choice after research seems to be the Galaxy S II...I just read the side by side comparison vs. the iphone 4s and the verizon droid and the S II gives the best of all worlds.

A bit taller and a bit thinner. The body itself is a bit thicker, but it has the same thickest point as the og evo because the cam doesn't stick out as much. This makes it feel better in the hand, more solid. Same weight I think.

This is NOT a Thread that I'm selling my Epic in, I need help deciding whether to keep my Epic or not. I want to change my Epic for an Evo 4G/BlackBerry. I like it and all, but the Epic just doesn't have enough development. I'd have to either get the Evo and Flash my phone EVERYday like I used to with my G1, or get a BlackBerry Bold 9650 and not Flash it at all. the Evo is a nice phone, it has all features working on CM7 which is a big plus for me, it's always up-to-date with MIUI, and was the phone I was going to get first, but it was sold out and I was impatient and I obviously regret it. Or, I could get a BlackBerry. Their much more simple and would meet my standards, but I'm afraid of Android-Withdrawal, but I could take it to OS6 and that looks cool.
So, what does everyone here think. Should I keep the Epic, let the price go down with more use, and wait to see what happens? Should I trade it in and get some cash and buy an Evo in order to fill my flashing addictions? Or should I sell it and buy a BlackBerry Tour2 9650 so that I can't Flash anymore, but have a pretty good phone? And the final option, should I just keep my Epic 4G, and live with it, and hope for the best?
Drop the epic and get an EVO lots of Rome to flash . Unless u Want to wait till September for the gingerbread update . Then the flashing begins for epic.

Keep the epic...CM7 will be out when official gingerbread in released!
I don't know man. September is a few months away, and that IF we get GingerBread then. And even though, we'll have CM7 ROMs from 3 different developers, a few AOSP from a few different developers, and maybe 2 MIUI ROMs. I wonder if we'll ever have Sense or a Port of maybe the Droid3? Or LG Optimus 2X? I don't think we have enough people.
Someone is already working on a sense port, the same dev that's working on miui. And we have a cm7 alpha 4. We need gingerbread source code to help move us along.

I came from a BB bold 9700. I did some beta testing for OS 6 on it. It was very nice but that is all the tinkering you could do with it was put a leak version of the OS or beta test. So I would say you have already commented on "flash withdrawal" so BB will be nice for about a month then you will be bored with it. One of the reasons I got the Epic was because of the keyboard coming from a BB and the screen size. My other options were the Intercept (which my son has) or the Shift but again the screen sold me on the Epic. I didn't even look to root or custom ROMS for at least 2 months after I bought it. But once you start it is hard to go back.
Hi my name is John and I am a flashaholic...LOL
Look up the ORD Thread in the Off-Topic. That's us. That Thread was my idea btw.
And I guess I'll stay. I guessssss...
Sounds like you've already made up your mind and are just looking for someone to talk you out of it... I carry a crackberry and my epic. The crackberry is free and I can do what I want with it, but I still keep an android that costs me ~40 bux a month and has horrific cell coverage most of the time just because it's an Android and the berry sucks for anything other than email.
I don't know much about the Evo other than it's large development base, crappy screen and lack of keyboard. If flashing a new ROM everyday is your goal, then get the Evo and live with the lackluster video performance and on screen keyboards.
If the only reason you're ditching the Epic is due to lack of development, then develop something...
I forgot to mention that the Epic's keyboard sucks and I barley use it. If at all. And I can't develop. My friends will think differently of me. Lol jk, I'm too lazy and I don't have the time. All these devs are high ballers. I wouldn't compare. They wouldn't take me as seriously.
keep the EPIC !!!!! it's a better phone !!!!!! ( just sayin' )

So have u decided what u gonna do?

I mean sure EvO has more roms but how many do you really need. My sister has an EVO and I read thru the EVO section and concluded only 4-5 roms are actually worth trying Synergy-Kingdom, MIkG, MIUI, CM7 or Gingerdeck and thats about it...The last three we will hopefully get once GB is released.

Hi John!
There totally should be an AFA (Android flashers Anon) cause I'd be in it.
I've only had the Epic for a couple months, but I wouldn't trade it for any of the other phones available for Sprint right now. It's fast, great hardware, and has a full keyboard. I use a handful of other devices for work, and my Epic is the best by far. (my Galaxy Tab is a close 2nd) It feels weird not having some new rom/customization come out every couple weeks or days on the Epic, but I've adapted to a slower dev cycle that I was used to. And honestly, the only thing keeping me from running one of the GB leaks is the lack of a custom kernel to fix the hw keyboard lag. So until there's something that feels and works as good or better than my Epic, I'll be hanging on to it for dear life..
No offense but hopefully sucks.....especially if u upgrade yearly.....the good thing I learned my lesson and not going through that again.
But again that's just me.

I'm an original at&t iPhone guy who switched to Verizon about a year ago when the android finally started making me drool over its superior look, feel and operation.
The fact that its open source and has far better customization, sold me in a heartbeat. I started with a Samsung fascinate and was sorely dissapointed. The phone always had bugs and never ran properly. Even after a much awaited froyo update.
I traded my fascinate on craigslist for my dinc about 4 months ago and was very impressed not only with the lack of bugs and lagginess but also at the development that has occurred. The devs for this phone are freakin awesome!!! Thanks guys!!
Now I see dual core processors and larger screens taking over the android market as well as an upcoming iPhone 5 that, I'm sure will live up to the apple name.
My question is simple. Should I keep my dinc until its done, should I upgrade to a newer android device or should I cross back to the dark side and have apple tell me what's good for me once again? Hmmmmmmm.....
Comments?
It's wall to wall walls in this place!!!
Nothing is worthy of replacing the inc yet. I look daily. Lol

I'm keeping my Dinc until it's upgrade time (beginning of Jan 2012), and if there is no suitable replacement (for my tastes) then I have no problems sticking with the Dinc. It's a great phone and will still be a great phone in 6 months from now.
As for switching to iPhone, that's a matter of preference. I'm a Mac user that prefers Android over iOS because iOS doesn't have the flexibility and functionality that Android does. I do think that iOS can be prettier and more polished in some ways, but the functionality of an Android phone is worth more than the eye candy of iOS.
I would say the only worthy upgrade seems to be the SGS2(if it has lte) or the Nexus 4G/htc verzion that are rumored for this fall/winter.

HTC Nexus on Verizon *drooool*
I did a long hard search and honestly there is nothing better than the DINC right now.
The Droid incredible 2 I still wouldn't take just because of the lack of development.
I'd be surprised if Verizon would allow a stock phone without bloatware all over the damn place.. I'd love if I was wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if it was still a sprint phone. Saw an article about how sprint is now going to be removing bloatware or making it uninstallable. Pretty respectable move IMO, but I can't see Verizon following suit.
actually the nexus 4g lte is rumored to go to At&t with their new 4g lte network not verizons and sprint sort of exagerates "lies" the removal of bloatware because you can only remove 5 or so apps

Ill tell ya what, if the next nexus is truely an HTC phone on Verizon, I will definitely get it. Its the best of everything android stands for. Open source vanilla OS and superior hardware. HTC is, by far, my top pick for any android phone!!!! And ics, come on.... What more can u ask for?

That's when I have my upgrade option as well and honestly I'm thinking about switching to Sprint. They have been getting some of the best phones lately. When I look at Verizon's line up and upcoming it seems to be all of the same.

Man, there STILL isn't anything even being talked about to be released to consider. Disappointing!
The only consolation is that we still have one of the best phones out there.
I have incredible faith (heh heh) in our devs. Seeing as the inc2 has just been rooted and we have the 2 big boys, cm7 and Miui already available for the device, i believe ill be accidentally taking a shower with my Dinc in my pocket in the next few weeks.

Also, as far as I'm concerned, as long as the devs hold in there with this phone until the end of this year and port ICS, I will probably keep this phone until it dies.

What's next is called the Thunderbolt. It's got a screen bright enough to read, battery life... well, anything has batter battery life than a dInc, absolutely stupid-fast 4G, a stupid-fast CPU that EASILY clocks up to 1.6GHz, and a screen big enough for a keyboard. I lived with the dInc for a long time, longer than any other phone I've ever had. I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone can say with a straight face that the original dInc isn't bested yet. There is literally nothing that the dInc does as well, let alone better, than either the Thunderbolt or the dInc2.

Verizon gets a small incentive from the companies of the bloatware, that's why they put them on there. and i don't think verizon will ever get a nexus bone stock android phone, i really don't, here is why. Verizon isn't really out there for the consumer, they are out there for the profit. hence why, i mean at t-mobile and ATT, if you want a new phone, no problem, walk into the store, and get one at the upgrade price....in the middle of your contract.
Verizon hasn't gotten the idea of that just yet. plus like other companies, verizon does have shareholders to report to (and they aren't happy, they think the data plan changes will ruin their investment)
the only reason i have verizon is because that's the only carrier here with decent coverege, and they really aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

yeah, we can overclock any phone, and switch to landscape mode to type somthing. and 4G isn't nationwide in every single town yet, i want to know people seem to think that. and not everyone wants a big-ass phone in their pockets. i have somtuing called a laptop, and it works just great if i want somthing better than 3.5 inches

maybe because we have devs who already got it to gingerbread? and with that logic everyone in this country on the roads should be driving brand new 2012 model year cars, right now. people are happy with what they have and they make it better. not everyone has 500+ dollars to spend on a new phone everytime they come out.

really? there isn't much difference, gingerbread as i said above, is already on various roms for the dinc. the main selling point for the t-bolt right now is that it's a 4g CAPABLE phone. if you are not in a 4g area, you will get 3g coverege. my area won't get 4g until a few years from now. and no, i don't live in "podunk nebraska" i live in a town of about 48,500+ people.
the way you pimp the freaking t-bolt so much... the thunderbolt threads are down there

Guess what? I had a dInc2 to play with for a week and I still have my Tbolt and I'm about to kernel up my old dInc, so yeah, I've got a hell of a lot more clue than pretty much everyone on this thread as to what I'm talking about. My dInc has been running GB for quite a while now. So has my Bolt. The dInc2 did EVERYTHING faster than the original, running bone stock firmware!
I'm not gonna make excuses for the Bolt. The firmware for that phone, and a good number of the leaks have been lousy. But, the more recent leaks have yielded absolutely bullet-proof, flowing-water smooth ROMs. The question was "What's next?". That big plate of glass next to me IS what's next. There is no question about it. It's not opinion. As for 4G, when towns like Fostoria, OH pop up with LTE, I'm thinking very broad coverage on this side of the Mississippi is clearly coming.... well before my contract is up. Hell! Even 3G is faster on the dInc2 and Tbolt, if for no other reason than they have the power to render things quicker. I'm glad people are happy with what they have. The dInc was, and still is, a solid, modern phone more capable than many devices to come after it. Too bad it looks pretty dated in light of Tbolts and dInc2's and several other phones. When I read someone write something like "I keep looking and I don't see anything that measures up to the dInc", I'm wondering how much crack they smoke. You're either insane, on drugs, or oblivious to reality to think that.

Wow man way to be a total ****. I have an incredible and my brother has a Tbolt, I can honestly say I prefer mine over it.
Besides that, although the Tbolt and INC2 *are* upgrades from the INC- for most people they just aren't worth someone's 2-year contract or full retail to get that sort of an upgrade. You've been out of the INC scene for a while it looks like.. and DEV's here are still putting out loads of stuff every day increasing performance/battery life/features -- moreso than INC2 or Thunderbolt since they've been out a shorter time. The INC2 even has issues now where if you buy it and it comes with GB, you can't even root it.
4G is extremely scarce, if you drive out 5 miles from whatever city you're in then you're out of luck as far as 4G goes. 4G is nowhere in my state yet, not even in our capitol (Richmond) and it looks like it'll be at least a year, probably more until we get it. The 3G, at least where I'm at, is fantastically good. I get 320kb/s on a good day and low 200's/kb/s during peak hours. That's enough to stream Colbert report, download movies (I've downloaded 4 so far) and watch netflix without pauses or hiccups.
So.. even if there WAS 4G in my area there really isn't any need that I get it since I don't normally watch HD movies on a ~4" screen or tether it to a datacenter.
Your opinion and mine.. but you don't need to flaunt around your phone while downing the INC (on our own forums) which is a perfectly awesome phone.
