This kind of bugs make me nuts...
Just work with Restore factory this bug...
Any idea why i cant get connection with deploy tools?
Regards
if you find zune/market place not loading up, restart your phone. it is a bug related to both products. you do not need to reset your phone, only restart it. hopefully MS fixes it.
as for getting errors, if they're data intensive apps like facebook/twitter, they may not work accordingly if there is a data issue with your carrier (as i've been experiencing with mine quite frequently lately).
as for the op statements, sometimes zune goes down, so you should just try again in a few hours.

I found this in another area of the xda-developers forums, thought it might be worth sharing here, as i havent seen it mentioned here yet, apparently you can use it without it clogging up your contacts with loads of emails. i will try it now,
I have also put a copy of this on my own server in case it goes walkies.

Working !!
Hi guys,
just tried on Meschle's Touch 1.0 and after reboot my device didn't boot up,
i had to reset. But after reset i just installed (without making changes on my device) and it worked.
Maybe it's because i installed HTC Home 2.0.xxx ? I don't know...
It really works. Now when you setup your account you have the option to choose if you want to add the contacts to the phone-contacts. Great work ! That was worth to reset my device
Thanks a lot !
Thanks for this, I'll give it a try, was a right mess with all the contacts being added to my contact base on old version.
I tried this and got an error about "wlmsetup.exe is not a valid pocketpc application". Upon reboot WLM kept stating no Internet connectivity. I removed it and went to re-install. It now won't install at all and just comes up stating install was unsuccessful. I now have no WLM at all on my Orbit and hence have no e-mail.
I am hoping it can be easily solved without a hard-reset as can do without re-installing all my apps etc.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Dae
Wlm is better cooked in the rom - by cab install seems to slow device down. My new rom has this cooked in but an even newer build 10.6.31.2600!
Tested. You get tick box to say if you want to merge your contacts. I decide not to merge my contacts – naturally. Works fine on my Oribit - WM6.
didn’t notice a slowing down. But I am using P4.1 touch.
Thanks joey jojo
This ain't 10.6.0031.1600
I have downloaded several versions which intend to be 31.1600 but after installing it says it is version: 10.6.0030.2100
Does this also work on the Hermes?

I want to install this for some stuff..but I am not usre if this is safe...is it?
please let me know...
dont want to mess my blackstone baby....thanks people
it's mentioned in quite a few places but thus is quote I found
"Description: The developer certificates were left out of this Shadow ROM, but the certificates were built into previous Black ROMs. You will need this to run certain applications and carrier settings (most notably Orange). Tested and working. Just install and it is there when it is needed."
Have used it for quite some time without any problems.
I've never had an issue with it, and it has been useful.
thanks for replies guys...
i was just worried because lots of people say that thei phone hangs etc and mine is no problem...and i dont want to ruin it...so you know, just was curious if this skdercts could somehow change something in my phone that could result in some failure...
thanks now I know I can use wvga fix
It does cause problems when switching to landscape mode in Opera/SMS after (only when you have run for a few hours). You get funny results, returning back to dial screen for ex.
sdkcerts doesn't cause problems... do you know what an SDK is? its a developers pack. Do you know what a signed program is? Commercial programs are usually signed. certifying their integrity. Most freeware isnt. problem is the phone is picky about allowing unsigned apps, or programs modification of signed apps. sdkcert is a developers certificate so the phone accepts unsigned apps and allows modification due to development status. Many programs you NEED sdkcert installed for them to be allowed to run.

If you don't know what you're talking about, you should shut up and not provide wrong information.
SDKcert simply installs "SDK developer" certificate signatures on your phone. Therefore, when you download an application or DLL that is "signed" with one of these "SDK" certificates, your phone won't complain that it's not signed by a known certificate Installing the sdkcerts.cab just makes the phone aware of the way these applications are signed...
Please relax and be polite please. I do have the problem with my HD as I explained. I have read somewhere that one of the ROM had the problem and this was solved by removing this cab. These are the info in my possession and I was just trying to raise the point. I do not have time to get into the heart of this and I do still have the problem....
Now, goodbye.... and I will close my lips on this topic. I do have helped a few others on other stuff, BTW....
Please try to be nice with the others. It makes this site more enjoyable.
Ciao
The reason I have asked about this is that lot of people say that my HD is f*ed up this way and that way...i guess it is because there are lot of noobs out there (I still am bit noobish with WinMO as well ) and they install stuff and uninstall like crazy...
So I just wanted to be sure that this cab wont hurt my phone in any way - regarding warranty/licence/originality of my WinMo/registry/etc...
Because surprinsingly my windows update app doesnt work anymore for example - it cant connect to the update server. Why? It worked when I first turned my phone on (despite no updates were found). Now it doesnt work.
And for example I can make a program, call it SuperAlarm...then you will install it and run it and suddenly you will see a message "Formatting..." What then? Ha? You get my point? Of course this is not the case of sdkcerts, but it might have been
(this was just to descrribe a carefulness, I think that everyone should be careful what is being put on the device)
So that is why I have asked. Lot of programs and stuff just somehow may affect other applications and blahblah...everything is very unexpectable in Windows (and not only win mobile)
So please, no reason to fight etc
I think that this topic can be closed.
Should we Install the - sdkcerts.cab
On Att Tilt 2 ?(Touch Pro2) Windows 6.5
Do I still need it? or not cos we have 6.5 now
Is it a must do ?
or just personal choice ?
Please thxs

Which phone do u have
& which Windows are you useing
WM 6 or 6.5
so others can be helped by it
thanks
sdkcerts is a great registry tweak and we should thank to its finder. Not even that it's not harmful, but speares you of unexpected stalls and hard resets.
But if your running a cust. Rom you don't need it. From what I have use.
I have been using LG Optimus 7 for months now. There is a specific error for this device that cannot be fixed, except by performing a hard reset. This is a 8000FFFF error while trying to update, so there is no way to back up the phone's apps either. This is most annoying, as someone who has used an iPhone before, you could always back up your apps in iTunes, and reinstall them at anytime.
My problem is that LG provided some free apps for 60 days, and now they are no longer in the Marketplace. These apps are not tied to their actual Marketplace equivalents (such as Weave), and were published independently by LG in their own app store. Since there is no way to back up apps and no way to reinstall them, I am wondering if anyone has a solution for extracting the specific .XAP files from the phone, as in manually backing up these apps. I am not looking to post them anywhere, and it is simply for my own personal use to be restored to the phone after I am able to update the phone. All other apps can be reinstalled from the Marketplace, and data can still be backed up with the Zune Software, but unless I hard reset, I cannot receive the update.
Please, if anyone knows how to back up or extract a specific .xap from an LG Optimus 7, let me know, or even PM me, if it cannot be discussed here.
Thank you.
EDIT: Here is the link to the problem that many are experiencing with this phone, and can only be solved by hard reset apparently.

I installed Mango today from Zune (official) and now I lost 3G service...
I'm on a HTC Trophy with Verizon wireless. When it first loaded it ran connection setup.
As a result, some features on the phone do not work now, like voice text and a few other things.
Any idea ?
Me too. I was just about to post this same thing until I searched and saw your topic. I uninstalled the HTC connection setup and re-installed it. Now it says no carrier with that name found in the database. I'm boned. I was considering a hard reset but I don't know what else to do.
have the same trouble. Cannot connect to 3g network with my samsung focus (used in Telcel). Just when i add a APN config, i can reach 3g connection but before Mango, i don't need that config.
---------- Post added at 03:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 PM ----------
the info about the connections showed in diagnosis window are different now. After Mango, i can view all the default connections of my phone. Now there isn't connections config. What do you see in your phone? Try this code *#9920# en diagnosis app.
I don't have the samsung diag app and I don't know the HTC equivalent.
A thought occurs though. Did we all upgrade from the leaked RTM? I sure did and I wonder if that's a potential issue. My options for fixing this is are:
1. Hard reset
2. Restore to NoDo. Upgrade through
3. Warranty replacement
Unless I get some suggestions...Please
Hard reset FTW. Major pain to recover from though...

I know the setup of emails, etc is a pain, but using the new device manager on live.com is AMAAAAAZZZING. It displays a list of your purchased items, and by clicking a button, sends it to reinstall on your phone in the background. You can at least continue to set the phone up and not worry about redownloading all the programs - it'll do it for you.
Lost 3G here as well after mango update. I was also not on the stock NODO but whatever the last leaked update was that could be installed through Zune.
I did an official update from 7004 and all was fine, the rolled back to use the "unlock.xml" in Diagnostics GPRS and then back to Mango and now it's screwed (Omnia 7).
Help greatly appreciated
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Odd, my trophy and my sisters updated without a hitch. Well mine restarted like 10 times on step 8 of 10 or whatever. But all is running well.
I restore the OS to te last backup and all works fine. Now i will try to update again to Mango.
ok, after some test, i found how to fix this for samsung focus devices: After upgrading to Mango and after load unlock file in gprs manager, just uncheck the ADC flag in samsung tools app, reboot the phone, and enable the flag again. Reboot the phone and all works again. My cel now is full unlocked and have mms and 3g service.
Reading WPCentral and VZW forums, the HTC Connection Setup does not work on the VZW Trophy. If you have it installed when you upgrade it tries to run and causes lose of 3G/Data.
You have to roll back, uninstall Connection Setup, and then upgrade. This keeps data alive. OR, do a hard reset and start over.
But, if you install the Connection Setup after upgrading it will not find the carrier and run (doesn't appear to do anything so data stays on). However, trying to unlock/inter-op unlock with a provxml file in the windows directory is not working so you are not able to run sideloaded apps.
I have another post in QA about the HTC Connection not working on the VZW Trophy and these other issues verify it doesn't. I had the app uninstalled before updating as I didn't want my provxml file being removed so luckily ended up with data still working. But, this screws up trying to pass interop-unlock to final Mango on the VZW Trophy.
My hope right now is HTC sends an update to allow it to run and get my provisioning into the registry OR heathcliff figures out how to do inter-op unlock on HTCs...
I had the HTC connection setup application installed prior to updating, and saw it automatically tried finding my network after booting into mango. I would like to rollback and uninstall this however it doesn't look like zune ever made a backup? During the update it said it was making a backup, but the only file I see is a small xml file in the backup location?
I really did not want to do a full reset and lose all my application data.
You can always try the Verizon Trophy Mango ROM is all else fails.

Hello, I apologize in advance for my writing, but I am French, I do my best not to make too many mistakes
So my problem appeared for the first time today when I wanted to change ROM, I was under ParanoidAndroid, I wanted to go under UKG (UltimatumKang), I wanted to start on something clean, so j 'I utlise Nexus Root Toolkit to do a clean install and replace the stock version before UKG. Once installed UKG, could not get my applications that automatically download normally, they are all on the waiting list, the first is in progress, but it does not move, it's like an infinite loop. When I stop the recovery and I'm trying to download only one application, it works.
Strangely it also do it for the updates, I can not update multiple applications at once, but only one by one.
I'm annoyed because I do not really want to download my apps one by one.
So, someone have an idea ?
EDIT : Now, I've the same problem on stock version of Jelly Bean.
I had this happen once a year or so ago. What had happened was, as I understand it, the Play Store only allows a certain amount of auto-downloads at a certain time. I flashed a ROM, it restored, flashed a different ROM, all downloads stopped. I don't think anybody knows exactly how many, but lets say 50 for example.. After downloading the 50 apps you are allowed to download within the allotted time, you are cut off. The Play Store will allow you to download apps again in 24 hours, you will have to wait it out.
The last time I've use the restoration was two weeks ago, but I'll wait to see.
Thanks a lot for your help ! I appreciate a lot
EDIT : It seems that it's Google Talk/Hangouts who complicate the thing. I'll see it tomorrow.
