Hi,
Have just received a dock for my HTC Desire Z and was using it on my PC for the first time. Phone connected to HTC sync Ok and got the usual noises when the connection on the PC was being established.
However, not long after my internet died and wireless connection dropped/disconnected. On looking further I see I have new hardware with no drivers. Some IDE controller called AT43ZU27 IDE.
Re-established my wireless etc and searched for the above to find no hits??!!
Odd..
Disconnected the Desire Z and uninstalled the hardware.
I have seen something vaguely similar in the Windows phone section about turning off high speed USB? Might this be it?
Or would this be the quality of the cable that connects the dock to the PC??
Dock is one of these:

Just look at the specifications on the htc website.... there you'll find the answer.
Honestly with a bit of search you could have answered this yourself but since I'm not the worst person here I'm gonna explain...
The desire has out of the box tethering, you simply plug the charger/usb cable to the desire and put the other end in the laptop.
By doing that an option screen appears as you pull down the notification bar.
With the following options:
1. Charge only
2. Htc Sync
3. Diskdrive
4. Share your mobile connection (could be named different. I'm dutch so my desires settings are dutch.)
Selecting number 4 will install a modem on your pc and then your able to internet through your desire.

Thanks
sorry for being so irritatingly lazy ....
I will do better the next time
Promise i will
....
If you install PDANet, you can tether via Bluetooth. It appears to be dial up networking (which it isn't in reality) rather than a PAN, but it does work ok.

Dave

When i try to do this it tries to load the drivers which it cant find and so no connection for me.
i'm on xp
You need to install HTC Sync, which should have come on the SD card supplied with your phone.
You can also download the latest version from HTC.com

Dave
I've a strange problem:
When I connect my Desire with my PC, my WLAN-Stick stops working (I'm using the D-Link DWA-142). The LED turns off and I'm offline (like if it's disabled in the settings).
When I plug my phone off the Wifi is working again.
This actually happened when I connected my phone in recover mode.
The phone's Wifi works all the time.
Has anyone any idea what I could try to avoid this??!
That's odd. Have you tried updating the drivers for the adapter?

It's probably a power issue - when your phone is connected, it is probably drawing too much current from the USB hub.
I'd suggest buying a powered USB hub.

@foxmeister
cheers, i tried a normal USB port and it works!! I only used the front ports before (head -> wall -.-)
i tried to connect my htc desire z in my laptop but the computer did not recognize my device and i tried in my work pc that is a desktop and it do, later i tried to connect in another laptop and did not connect, and in another desktop and the device culd connect. can anybody help me. what is the diferents between desktop usb and laptops usb. or if is a hadware problem or firmware problem.
You have to install drivers so your desktop or laptop computer knows what your phone is. Otherwise, it has no way of knowing what it is, and just calls it a generic USB device.
Just install HTC Sync. This has the required drivers, and also the computer software to sync your personal data between the phone and your computer (if you desire to do so).

If its just to connect so you can add/remove stuff from your sd card it should be plug and play. But maybe its different in other countries lol

I did google for this problem and found that many users have faced this problem but could not find any finite working solution for this. I'm getting the same error: Bluetooth peripheral device driver not found. Has someone in this community faced this and found a solution to it. It's very frustrating to not being able to connect it to my PC using BT.
I did not have this problem
I am using Windows7 with my Sony Vaio 14p (also supports Bluetooth 4.0) and did not encounter with any problems transferring files from the device to the laptop.
First thing I suggest you to try is a cheap Bluetooth dongle that supports BT 4.0
my Pavillion DV6 connects ok. What type of laptop have u?
I'm having the same issue with my HOX and my Lenovo X220 tablet.
During the drivers install in Win7, a peripheral device driver isnt found. My Desire HD works fine though.
I have the same issue
Bluetooth connectivity
Hi guys I am having the same problem connecting my One X with my Toshiba Satellite running Win 7via Bluetooth I get the yellow triangle on my HTC One X icon in Devices and Printers and when I trouble shoot the result is " The driver for peripheral device is not installed, install the latest driver" when I click on Apply this Fix it does a search and cant fix it. however it seems there is the same problem on XDA as on Google search, the problem is there but no one has a solution, frustrating
solution to problem
I found a solution to the Bluetooth connectivity for HTC One X, Download and install BlueSoeil, I just did and paired and atm transfering files, this will do untill HTC get their **** together

the same model of computer?
Hello all,
I colleague of mine started talking about connecting mouse to her Android pad through an Micro-usb to mother USB cable.
I tried that on my Desire HD phone and found that i do not have "Mouse" driver in Accessibility, so it did not work.
I started looking on the internet and found the videos below, showing that some mobile phones can connect to mouse and Video (MHL cable)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBfjY9CjS3U
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46IiRyigUH0&feature=fvwrel
Does anybody know if these drivers can be installed on Desire HD?
Kind regards,
Daniel
We don't have USB host enabled by default, but there have been some kernel development for it, however I'm not sure how that ended up... Check the development section...
