Random reboots on miui? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I posted this before but never really found an answer but now I know it's the Miui rom that's causing my random reboots what could it be? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

Set your wifi sleep policy to never, that seems to clear reboots for most people. Either that or try a different kernel. Also, there is a dedicated MIUI forum, I suggest posting questions like this over there. http://forums.miui-dev.com/forumdisplay.php?18-HTC-EVO-4G

that doesnt work... any other suggestions?
miui 1.4.15

I have no suggestions sorry but I am having the same problem on MIUIDev 1.4.15 I have been looking for answers as well. I have had it happen using Navigation and Utube ?

In process of flashing Aosp rom my camera is now broke(black screen)

Hello everyone
I had flashed an Aosp rom I can't think of the name right now, it was a newer one, anyway I noticed the camera was force closing so I pointed out to that developer it was an issue. He wasn't why it was fc so I just moved on and tried another Aosp rom. Camera was still the same. I then decide to try and flash all the newer radios ect. Thinking that might fix it but it didn't.
So I went back to a sense rom to try to update prl and profile but didn't help.
Iv tried other camera apps with no success.
What's happening is the it goes immediately black screen and that's it. Sometimes the force close thing pops up other times it just sits on black screen.
I don't know what else to try. In other threads some have mentioned it could be an unfixable problem, this would really suck because they Just had to give me a new one due to a seperate issue.
Can anyone give me an insight into this? I would really appreciate it.

Have you dropped it lately? it could be loose on the board.
I know if you flash the wrong kernel, it'll break the camera among other things. Happened to me when I flashed aosp kernel on a sense Rom by mistake. Try reflashing Rom only after wiping everything except sd card.

Dam I did actually drop it recently. What would I do? Is that covered under the $7/month I pay?

Pretty sure I tried that already and it didn't work. Seems like anything I try hasn't helped.

Just have them take it apart and push the camera module back down onto the board. It takes literally like 2 minutes. I've done it in 30 seconds before.

CyanogenMod 7 GPS Issues.

I'be been running cyanogenmod 7 on my Evo and have been experiencing GPS issues from the start. I turn on GPS and open Google maps and it rarely tracks my position correctly. So of course I can't really use the navigation app because of this. When I revert back to my stock rooted rom I don't have this issue. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a way to fix this?

Ummm yea. This is one of the biggest issues with cm7 from the start, and it's on the first post of every thread about this rom.

Have you read any of the information about the rom? There are a few things, including the flashing sense rom ##gpsclrx# trick, but most of the time that only helps temporarily. If you want fully working gps, flash a rom other than cm7.
Wow I guess I really missed that point. And I guess videos I have seen incorrectly stated everything works.
Thanks for the answer

Look galandy thread in the dev thread. You find some GPS zips in there. They work great for me

auto rotate issue

Kinda new to this stuff, but feel pretty comfortable with it. Do have a question though. I installed ics on my epic and i now have no auto rotation, is anyone else having this problem and if so how do you fix it?
On a side note, is there an overclock kernel for ics?

There is a Tips thread in General you should look through. It has all these answers. Yes there is OC kernels in the Development section and there is 3 places that have to be checked for the auto rotation. It is in the OP of that CM9 Tips thread.

LAG when receiving incoming call :(

Can anyone help me out with this problem.
When someone is calling me and the lock screen comes up i get terrible lag when trying to unlock the phone in order to answer it.
The unlock to answer is the only thing that lags,
I have tried to turn off the unlock but that doesn't help.
I have researched the forums and have seen that its impossible to disable the lock screen prior to answering a call.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated,
Thanks

Are you running too many apps in the backgorund? maybe is time for a factory reset or even a reflash.
Try clearing your ram.. If you have cleared it and your free ram is low you have too many apps running in the background.

the main question is which rom do u use??
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda app-developers app
I noticed that problem usually with Cm9 and Cm10 roms.
I think it should be definetly a low-mem issue.
Hey developers!
Why not a mod that forces the answer-the-call in memory
Iike the option that some launchers have to prevent lag?
you can't do anything with that. cm9-10 roms always.will have callscreen lag becasue they aren't designed to use them.with devices without gpu. just install cm7 or other gb rom. you don't lose so much because things from ics and.jb like hardware acceleration never will work on willy. best way for you will be gb roms with jb look give a try and you won't regret.it (;

[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.2 Camera Bug

Hi all,
Has anyone found a solution for the Camera bug with Cyanogenmod 10.2? I've been doing some research lately and haven't found a solution. I may have missed something or just searched for the wrong things. Got my university ball tomorrow and want to be able to depend on my phones camera.
Usually the problem is that the Camera is unavailable when needed for all the apps connected to it e.g. WhatsApp/Instagram/SnapChat and the camera app.
You didn't give enough details about the problem to actually help.
But if you mean sometimes it says "cannot connect to camera" .. A reboot should fix it. I think that's caused by the kernel.

Hi, sorry for the vague question. Yes that's the problem and I thought a fix was out that's why I asked the question. Realised restarting fixes the problem but frustrating at the same time!
