Are battery mods (for the status bar) interchangeable between roms?
Not usually, differences if framework mods between ROMs means that flashing an incompatible battery icon mod can break features and cause bootloops.

In general the answer is no. The images are but not the actual framework since each dev has different mods in the framework.
If you took the framework-res.apk from one ROM and put it in another ROM based on the same framework it may work but other mods and themes might break. Definitely can't do it between say a stock ROM to a Desire or Evo based ROM. Will more than likely boot loop.
Ok. That makes sense. I have found some themes that change the status bar to blue icons and such
If you like a certain battery icon just ask the dev of the ROM your on if they will create a flashable zip for you. If you provide the icons they most likely will.

Hello all,
I have been searching for a while but couldn't find any specific info on this subject. I'm wondering if different lockscreens can be used on ROMs other than CyanogenMod. I use TheOfficial HTC ADP 1.6 DRC83 ROM, Can custom lockscreens like Stericson's be used? Thank you all Developers/ROM cookers for making all these awesome modifications to these phones possible. Please dont flame me, Im new to all this...
thanks all...
I am pretty sure the lockscreen has not been ported over to 1.6 yet. I know it is being worked on.
I know an unmodified services.jar from the 5a lockscreen will work with akirahs rom, but a modded services.jar will not go past the first splash screen.
Lockscreens can be added to any rom, provided you have the source for it's services.jar, however, as a simple "drop-in", no, it has to be designed for that rom because of specific dependencies between a rom's framework (though two roms based on the same framework should work as long as it's not been odexed). There's a way to do it, though, but it's a lot of work, you could have the services read off of an xml that you can store in your system folder (maybe etc) and toss your changes there. I'm working on..... .nevermind
Should I be able to take the framework-res.apk from one ROM and put it in to another ROM and then flash the entire ROM? Because I just pulled one from an Azrael ROM and put it in to an EViO ROM and flashed it and I still had all the same notification bar icons, etc.
Not a good idea. Check out the theme forum to learn how to theme. There is a lot of good stuff in there. And the notification bar icons are usually stored in the individual apk's, not the framework.
In a sense ROM, a lot of the icons are in the com.htc.resources.apk instead of the framework-res.apk. That should get you there, everything should be fine as long as both the transplant ROM's have the same base.
Hey... This thing makes phone calls too!
You have to wipe your dalvik anytime you change something like that
UPDATE: cyan-coloured percentage bar battery mod for for fla.sh's cyanbread theme - i prefer it to crysis's one, so i did it and share.
Just simple UOT Kitchen made percentage battery mod of Fla.sh's brilliant AOSP GB/CyanBread themes. works fine at mine (stock rooted and deodexed KPO), but KEEP ORIGINAL fla.sh's zip on SD in case of any trouble to reflash.all credit goes to him!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253578 - original AOSP GB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255140 - cyanbread
howto:
1) flash one of above fla.sh's themes first through CWM recovery on deodexed rom (mount /system, install zip from SD,reboot) (links above)
2) flash modified zip respectively (links below) the same way as previous one through CWM
3) enjoy great theme with battery readings
4) Thank fla.sh!
disclaimer: flashing it you declare knowing what u do, so it's ur personal responsibility if anything goes wrong!
screenshot pls of the battery percentage....is it rounded? or rectangular, etc...?
can't upload screenshot, removed screen capture app (along many others, hehe), but here's sample from darky's 10.2 using the same mod. looks pro with gb theme.
very nice modded theme...i suggest that the extended power menu be a colored one just like the stock rom,....coz this one is just like fla.sh x2 extended power menu...
pls make it close to stock....thanks..
is it compactable with any KPN or KPO base or only FLA.SH

sorry, as i mentioned it's just UOT Kitchen modded - anybody can do it in half our time alone, i just shared what others might find useful, it's not development or whatsoever, only simple mod.
and therefore i won't modify anything else, although possibly power menu icons are changeable at UOT Kitchen - i don't know.
actually big up to UOT Kitchen makers - good job guys.
it's just mod of fla.sh's AOSP, so whatever his AOSP theme is compatible with, this mod is as well. i use it on deodexed stock KPO, but in his post KPN is mentioned as well. don't know about others, sorry.
(the truth is even some theme wasn't compatible with given rom, u could always reflash it with other, compatible from cwm - just have it handy on SD, i can't see huge risk trying, but it's ur own choice and responsibility)
how to uninstall this theme?
no idea - depends what u had before. either by flashing some other theme/rom or reflashing rom?
Useful theme. Is nice to have precentage.
Sent from my GT-S5830 in Singapore with the XDA app
<3 AOSP Gingerbread Ace Team!
little update: mod for fla.sh's cyanbread theme - cyan coloured.
can this be installed with stock recovery mode ...and without cyanogenmod7?????????
Thanks for this one!

Apparently you CAN'T THEME battery icon on Android version 4.4. Sorry, I can't explain all the developmental details.
simple explanation (ill try to explain)
In 4.4.2 roms battery icon is now build in .jar (its wroted in some kind of code inside .jar file) so that means there is no more .png images for battery and theme can not change it

that rly sux, i love theming and when the battery doesnt change then it looks incomplete and not good >_>
hi every one,
As we already know, the battery signal of statusbar on Sammy KitKat Firmware is not images but coded one.
That is one of Google's operations in Android 4.4, but make difficulties with theming or customising...
please some developer consider to change systemui of our device for custom roms and make it png based battery icons.as you can see here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2628560job has be done for other devices too.
