Just the template, deodexed, optimized, zipaligned, flashable on rfs, nothing fancy, anyone have a link?
Sent from my Epic 4g
A deodex template doesn't exist for dk28, when it was released here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861220
it was pre rooted, zipaligned, and all before hand thus a deodex was never needed. You can get everything you need from the zip.
I have no clue if the md5 from who's the man is deodexed or not but it doesn't say it is in the thread so I'm guessing it's not. Also note gmail market, etc have still received updates since so beware of those out of date

I believe Nova posted a dk28 stock theme in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853810
Standard version - http://www.ndsico.com/XDA/roms/supernova/NovasThemeStock.zip
CWM3 version - http://www.ndsico.com/XDA/roms/supernova/NovasThemeStockCWM3.zip
Yeah but if you were using them as a base to theme, you would be working on outdated apk so it was just a heads up.

Confusing wording, hes looking for a deodex theme template, an update zip that deodexes a stock phone rop make it compatable with themes. It contains all the stock apps deodexed and zip aligned for speed increases. There is usually one for each rom, but dk28 was a leak and came set up like that from the go.

The link u gave me for the stock rom is "not" stock though, guess ill just be making a template myself, thanks for peeking around for me though

Not sure what your talking about there. Acs leaked it that is the only way it comes. It's hard to say somethings missing or changed when that is the way it was released? I dont know tbh.
I know they deodexed, zipaligned it as far as taking anything out youll have to pm rjmjr to find out if there is a copy of the original, he'll probably share it.
Edit: now I know what your talking about! I forgot that this build was actually released on the google servers. You probably can find that one using google. Search for Epic 4g gets official froyo. When oft happened the sites mirrored it as official. Its buried here too the google server link but I dont think they are still hosting it since it wasn't supposed to be.

The problem with making a theme for froyo is that what we have isn't the final release. Mysteryemotionz put it very plainly to me: It is simply a "proof of concept" that signifies a completed project to come. So the framework (the files which control the on screen visuals)of the DJ29, the DK05 and the DK17 releases are all different, which leads me to believe that the final release will be different as well. I don't want to create something that will have to be redone in a matter of days/weeks. It makes sense, and the second the OTA comes out I'm going to start working on themes for it.

Does dk17 and dk05 run faster than dj29 and which do u think is best. Im afrais to flash dk05 cuz of modem issues ive heard about is there the same problem with flashing dk17. Which version of froyo is likely to be released officially do u know thomas? Btw thanks man I appriciate it.

Nobody knows for certain what the final version will bring, but I would make the assumption that it will be the most like DK17, simply because that is the latest revision. In terms of speed and stability, they are all beta versions that do contain bugs. I have extensively tried DJ29 and DK05, and they both seem relatively the same, so I imagine there isn't a huge difference, if any at all, between the 3 versions.

If you grab the latest SGS tools from this site it has the option of downloading the 5 icon dock AndroDENA themed touch wiz for your phone. Works for dk05 did not work on dj29 (at least for me)
Like thomas said. Anything built for dj29 will not work for dk05. Anything for dk05 will not work with dk17. Last I checked the ota is scheduled for the 23rd.so if that's the case it would be called dk23. I stopped all work due to this. Once the latest ota is official I will start my work and so will everyone else. I know thomasskull666, idkwhothatis, and dreamsforgeten are waiting for my framework. As of now it's unsure whether the valuepack is included in any test roms for the Epic 4G. We won't know til we see them. Also, Samsung claims the valuepack didn't work very well on the Galaxy series and has stopped working on it.

Hmmm...then maybe someone with some spare time can look at the portability of the i9000 leak. It is mostly just a theme with a few new apps. Can't see why Samsung would give up so easily on it. Good thing they didn't think GB didn't work well on the Epic after 8 months of test builds.

I'm requesting an EL30 update to the 10-Lockscreen Mod (BML/MTD). It doesn't matter if it's "stock" or themed. Supposedly, the changes in EL30 are minor enough that it should be relatively simple to modify the EI22 version.

Well, it is just a mod after all. With that in place, the ROM dev's can just start incorporating the legacy features.
That said, did madoggin ever release his source code? I wouldn't expect him to do much with the Epic 4G now that he's on another phone.

I don't think so. Isn't that why the 10 lock did not work well on EI22 ROMs? Because it had to be ported again and was a little rough?
It would be good if this was just a flashable add on so as to remove it if it causes problems.

Idk if I heard maddoggin right but because the 10 lock mod was a port from sbrissens original lock mod it could never have been an integrated (or internal) mod. Its an external mod (for lack of better terms) and because of that it doesn't function as well as it should. Also randomking posted somthing in his EH17 [not dead yet] thread about why the EI22 mod doesn't work as well as previous versions because its the only one that was never fully integrated. Maybe that was confusing but that's how I took it.. also he's the only one (that I know of) that has ever done the lock mod for our epic so I'm sure not many of us would know where to start

Well, from what I know, maddoggin released the 10-Locks Mod for us in a hurry. It was a quick release because he was busy having to re-port the 10-locks MOD for the Epic Touch everytime an update leaked. EL29 was just officially released, so maybe after he gets done with that, he'll come back n clean up the 10-Locks MOD. Iirc, bits of unneeded code were left in the 10-Locks MOD which is the reason for the memory leak and other problems. If this is true, maybe a nice "clean up" will make the 10-Locks MOD more useable

Maddoggin is making roms for the E4GT.
I am Z.
^^^, And we're still waiting on a decision regarding the el29 version for the e4Gt...?
Ran across a thread today detailing how to use deodex and odex both in the same rom. Seems very interesting and I don't see why we couldn't do this with the E4GT. Here's the thread detailing it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437799
I'll try it in a bit and report back. If anyone else does it before me, let us know if it works.
EDIT: I was a bit misled by the title (it was too early). It changes the verify-bytecode and a couple other things. It doesn't actually give you both, just the claimed performance boost you have when using odex ROMs. If you want odex/deodex ability on the fly or to have odex but retain the proper file inside the .apk in order to update/mod we already have something for that
That being said, this *should* give you the same performance without actually odexing a ROM.
EDIT 2: So I tried it, prevented my phone from booting. Don't change the dalvik-cache flags. Not sure if they vary from ROM to ROM but on Calks 2.8.1 it's set to m=y so leave it at that. Otherwise you'll probably have the same issue I did. The important part is telling it not to verify the bytecode.
interesting.. thanks for the share.

I would assume you get the best of both worlds. The customization you get with deodex but the lower RAM usage, faster boot times, and overall buttery smoothness you get with odex. Of course none of the claims made for odex have been throughly proven but that's the general consensus.
Mik used to do this with his sense 3.0+ roms on the og evo

Hey mate, thanks for the contribution! Downloaded and flashed while running SlimBean build 3. Not sure if it's just me, but I seem to have poorer reception with the MC3 Modem than I do with the MB1 Modem. With MB1 modem, I had a signal of -98 dBm. With MC3 modem, I get -120 dBm. Ive noticed that different modems act differently in different locations. For example some modems work great on the west coast and don't work good on the east coast etc. I would just stick with whichever modem works best for you in your area.

check the jellybomb thread this has been an issue for all the new modem josh doesnt want to update to, hopefully he does sat some point lol. but just to let you know what you're looking for you have to manually edit some build prop lines to say MC3 instead of LJ7. doing this will also stop the update from popping up if thats happening to you as well.

Agreed. The modem will refect the build separate from the build prop. Also packed this modem in a zip directly from the odin tar released by sextape AND tested the zip. After flashing it reflected MC3 and i had no issues. Several members of my team and other xda members have reported that they've flashed it through CWM and mobile Odin with the same results. I do believe that you must have flashed the wrong zip.
