Having issues finding a email apk that works in cw3 tried the galaxy on and keeps saying unable to connect a little help please.
you might wanna be more specific. are you saying you deleted the stock email.apk n u need it back or are you looking for one of the modified email.apks? if ur looking for one of the modified apks why not post in there thread asking for cwm3 support
I have tried three diff roms with cw3 but all of them the email apk does not work i just want one that works all of the force close or will not connect
In your themes does your email apk work in cw3
After I switched roms this was happening to me (instant force close), all I did was go into Manage Applications, find the email app, and clear cache/data.
Had to set up the accounts again, but no probs since.
You don't need cwm to install an apk. I think you're trying to do this the hard way.

Im running acs frozen rom, my very first rom. I have to say this rom is great. No major problems so far exept for the email fc once in a while which i've read is a known bug. Doesn't really bother me as it doesn't happen often. First question, i've downloaded a few zip files to install but none installed at all. It would just say "installation aborted" when i tried to install thru cwm. Second, how can i change the notification icon for the mms? MMS and email icon looks too similar, it gets confusing. Third, how can i change the mms png file? I already have the png file i want to use, just dont know how to apply it. Thanks in advance!

1. If it is telling you installation aborted, it sounds like you might have a amend/edify conflict. Which ClockWork Mod version are you using? If you are using CWM3 then you can only flash things that are ext4 ready.
2. If you prefer "stock" apps this may not be for you, but HandcentSMS is a great SMS/MMS app. It allows you to use different color icons in your notification bar and use virtually any sound file loaded on your sdcard as the notification sound.
3. I'm not good with .png files so I can't really help much there. What are you tyring to do?
Also - the email FC thing - according to the changelogs over in the ACS Frozen thread - has been fixed with the new version that dropped earlier tonight.

1. i think i did see an error message about edify...if so how can i make the zip files ext4 ready...btw i am using cwm3....
2. i used handcent for a while and i did like it...but i would just want to use the stock mms app...i downloaded an mms zip that i want to use but like i said i couldnt install it...i got the .apk file but when i tried to open it, it would say "uninstall"...i've read somewhere about trying to push it to some system/app directory but im still trying to figure out how to do that...
3. png files....i just wanted to change the stock icon for mms to a different one...just dont know how to install it.

I have tried everthing to change the look in the clock widget on 2.3.3 just trying to add some images. Used apk manager also tried to use the file it comes already apk and just pushed the images into HtcClockWidget.apk also have tried not signing the file but everytime I push it back to my phone it breaks the widget is there something im missing and does anyone now why it breaks everytime I have done it many times on 2.2. Thanks for all your help

Your post is a tad confusing. Are you attempting to push an HTC clock onto an AOSP or Sense Gingerbread rom? If it is the former, it's not going to work. If it is the latter, wouldn't it be easier to simply go into recovery, wipe cache & dalvik and then reflash the rom?

I have an EVO. Its basically is just the stock over the air rooted (android 2.3.3). The main thing that I have had issue with is only being able to have 1 exchange account. I have been told that apparently that is just an HTC thing and the stock android allows for multiple.
I have read through and search the forums for how to get the stock email app installed. It seems like everything is either to old or something and download links are not working, etc. I saw one post that said just get the app from another rom and install it.
So I downloaded the stock deodexed rom from the Nexus S (which I no is stock). And pulled the email.apk from it. Transferred it to my evo and tried to install and got the error "application not installed".
So I found things saying to try and remove the app that was already on the phone. So I used root uninstaller and uninstalled the mail app from the phone (the HTC one not gmail.apk)
But I get the same error. I tried, replacing the email.apk on the rom that I used with the email.apk from the stock rom and load the rom, but the rom wouldn't load.
Does anyone have any ideas or help they might be able to give me, or possibly any other way to get multiple exchange accounts working on the evo?
It looks like your only option is Enhanced Email from the Market ($9.99)
OR set up one of your accounts as IMAP
Advanced email is using your existing stock apps and a good solution
Better is to use k9 mail with more options and a multi user solution.

How could i push these two Apps from MIUI to my 7/23 Synergy Kingdom Rom...??? Pushed to System -> apps on root explorer wont work... was wondering if this was possible.
After pushing them AND setting the permissions, reboot the phone.

I'll try again... but setting permissions hasnt seemed to help much... could it be some apps just can't work with specific roms due to coding and stuff?
I get error process com.miui.camera has stopped unexpectedly. as well as with the notes app every time i try and open after i have pushed into system/apps folder and changed permissions to read-owner group other and write-owner..
Should i have copied additional files from the miui rom than just the app files for camera and notes to port correctly over to the synergy rom?

I'm not sure of the exact way you would go about getting these apps to work on Synergy, but I can tell you this-
A lot of apps on MIUI are tied into the rom. People have tried and failed many times to move just the apps over. The only apps you can use on other roms are the apps that people have specifically tweaked to be installable on any rom - like the music app.

Anyone know if theres a working one for a stock odex rooted ICS ROM? I have tried CM9s apk, everyhing opens up exept the moment you hit send or open an old thread from another SMS app, it FC. I tried a modded one from another thread, same issue. Only FC right when i want to send and if I open an old thread. I tried the ones in the market but MMS doesnt work..
