Hi Guys, thanks For your great support and hot tweaks, I've already ordered a touch pro 2 EURO version as a replacement to my Nokia n73, and I was just wondering what's the best Video format I should convert my videos to ?, in my nokia n73 I used to convert them to DivX and play them with Divx player, (which was amazing), now should I do the same thing with TP2, or WMV is better, please help as I need to watch lots of videos and episodes during college,
Thanks in advance

Hope someone can offer me some advice. Video playback is very high on my priorities. I currently have an Omnia which is pretty flawless playing back DIVX or XVID encoded files. I am not interested in playing back High Def content, only xvid/divx avi files that I download such as TV and DVD Rips.
How good is the Touch Pro 2 with Coreplayer, I am pretty worried from all that I read about HTC/Qualcomm drivers not working properly and this is a deal breaker for me. I don't know if the Touch Pro 2 is the same, I know it has the same processor.
I have been out of contract for a couple of months and was waiting to get an Iphone but I will have to encode all my xvid files in order for them to play, at least until Coreplayer for Iphone is released. I was happy with my Omnia but I seem to have endless problems with getting programs working as they should and of course there is no official support on this site.
If video playback is ok for these type of files I may go for either the Diamond 2/Touch Pro 2 or Touch HD as they all seem to be a similiar spec.

These play flawlessly on my antiquated Vogue as long as they are encoded properly, so I think there's no reason to suspect they will play any worse on the TP2. Perhaps the additional resolution, I suppose. But my experience has been that video on HTC is good stuff.
I read a review that it plays Xvid without any drop frames but can't play Dvix properly.
If you don't mind re-encoding your downloaded videos using the Video GUI, then you won't have any problems. I use it for my HD and it plays very very well at 624x352 resolution.
All you need to do is let it run over night and download it to your phone in the morning. Easy huh?
hello,
I would like to view DivX with my hero.
I buy yxflash,
his will not launch divx?
I tested several DivX?
Thank you
what converter you are using to convert those video?
And what format you unable to play?
what converter you are using to convert those video?
Divx is AVI am i right?
yxflash can read avi file but it's so bugged...
yes my problem too in HERO.I'm Waiting For Core Player http://twitter.com/corecodec
with me and my hero it works well!
It worked with the stock 1.5 Hero Rom.
Since I am on Modaco 3.1, it only plays 2 seconds.
if im not wrong the screen size of the vidoe should meet/near our hero screen size.
As i try many format, e.g... .3gp, .m4v(with screen isze of ipod/iphone/apple tv, mp4 .avi, divx .avi, divx plus HD .mkv, mobile .divx, .flv, .wmv & zune .rv
only those format with nearer to hero screen size work well. & some format like flv, avi, rv & divx does not work.(might due to the screen size too)
as i using soe free coventer that i unable to adjust the screen size unless i purchase full version.
if anyone could provide any free video converter that able to adjust the screen size i would like to try again & will let those who purchase xyflash user or going to purchase know & to consider of purchasing or not.
I try with PocketDivXEncoder,
http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/EN_index.htm
I converted a divx 700MB total 220MB in 320x184 for PocketPC and I have the same problem
it's amazing to not have a divx player for hero
Hi friends i am thinking the next week to buy this phone because i am totally disappointed from my Toshiba tg01.
I don't know if is the correct phone for me and i like to say me your opinion as owners.
I like to surf with phone, listen some music, see a video and first of all to have good radio signal, communication, to use bluetooth headset etc.
You think desire is ok ? you are satisfied with this phone or you think that you should have buying another phone.
Thanks
desire is a nice phone.,i'm satisfied with that phone
Thx for the answer.
Really happy with my Desire, if you like browsing and music there are some really nice apps that are much better than the stock ones.
I like Dolphin HD for internet http://www.appbrain.com/app/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser
For music i use http://www.appbrain.com/app/org.abrantix.rockon.rockonnggl
Thx for the reply
It's a really good phone but for video it is not the best (yet). You can play movies but you will most likely have to convert it. What kind of video do you want to watch?
Thx for the reply. I saw this at specs don't support avi etc only mp4 wmv and video for mobile. It's little bit problem this but maybe someother player can play avi etc or not ?
Really pleased with mine - great phone - just wish that Word/Excel apps were free !!
Thx for the answer

You can use RockPlayerBase, great player that handles avi, MKV, DiVX, Xvid, and WMV. Its in private beta, I used it and it works great.

If I am choosing android phone, I would decide between Desire and Samsung Galaxy S.
Thx for the reply i'll try it when i am ready. Samsung is good too but here in Greece the phone providers don't have it yet.

great for surfing, listening to music with supplied headphones no problems, speaker is not too hot.
Radio signal is fine in Holland although i don't use it, as a phone it works also, i have not used blue tooth headset but if you check in accessories threads you will see others that have.
Thx friend for the answer
Hi,
I'm sorry making this question, first of all for my bad englins and second, because i'm sure that this argument is explained in may other post but...
I can't find it.
So here I am.
I can't play divx movie on my touch pro 2 WM 6.5
TCPMD doesn't run.
Divx mobile player run but the video is ful of green boxes and go slow, very slow.
I try convert divx file in mp4... but... i's not so easy. Very large files and very low speed.
Can someone help me?, there are free programs to see divx?.
Thank you everybody.
Antonio
the free way to watch divx is using the divx player. its horrible, on every device. expect it to be horribly slow. core player is the only thing that will play it at full framerate. but it costs $30. you could torrent that, but its not legal and i dont recommend breaking the law. maybe you could convert the moves to wmv?
i just bought new touch pro 2 to replace my old i900 and i very worry with video player. i use core player to play video on my old i900 very good but the same video player and video clip on touch pro 2 is very laggly.
i hear that the video convert tool can fix this probleam so that it not use everytime because converting video take along time.
who did try exporting i900 or i8000 video drive and put it in to touch pro 2 to improve video quality?
sorry if everybody can't understand my thinking because my english is very bad.
If you can't play your video's decent, then it's a rom problem. You can also search to see if the settings that you use for coreplayer are correct.
Try to disable manila and then play the video,
manila takes lots of ram and CPU
i understand what you mean, yes some video in specific container format and resolution do choppy when played using coreplayer. until now the solution still using converter and then play using windows media player.
to port video drive to be used in tp2 is possible, but i don't know how. yet, there's no guarantee that even when using that program (video drive) the video playing will not be choppy... will never knew for sure until someone try
