Is there a way to get the circle battery mod with the stock odexed rom.
Perhaps a bottle of wine and some Barry White would get them together

I assume you're rooted...if so, either go into themes and apps and check a couple of pages, or search the dev. forum for the rom and check the thread for the mods.
Do you know of any stock deodexed roms?

Yes, this thread has the stock ROM in both odexed and deodexed versions.

Thanks but I would also like a working link to a circle battery mod. Anybody know of one?
Sorry I don't have the link it is on a different computer
But here is the quick and simple. Remember just becasue it worked on my stock phone with custom Netchy Kernel dosen't mean it will work your phone
1. Nandroid
2. Flash flash1.zip
3. clear cache/dalvik
4. Reboot - Battery should no longer be there
5. Flash flash2.zip
6. clear cache/dalvik
7. Reboot now you have a Circle Battery meter
**** Now you can be done or if in your quest for a better battery you can go one step further, this changes a number of things besides battery gives you phone a little myn flavor which I like***
8. Nandroid
9. Flash evo_myn_classic___circle.zip
10. clear cache/dalvik
Note I am runing 3.70 downloaded from sprint applied manually via RA Recovery.
All the Zips were flashed with RA
****Also I take no credit for these files, I found them after lots of digging in themes section. I just did some trial and error to perfect my battery, (In hind sight it would of be easier to just put a new rom on)
Hi all, I just flashed This new kernel along with cm 7 and its giving me some problems.. I've had it on the charger and its said 100% for quite some time now but when I unplug it ands restart the phone out goes back to 85%.. Then I plug it back in and it charges back up to 100%.. Then repeat back to 85%.. I just reset batt stats from recovery but still the same problem..any ideas?? Thanks !

Rom: CM 7
Kernel: Tiamat v4.0.5 SBC
Recovery: Amon RA
Try reflashing the kernel or try flashing savaged-zen kernel i user savaged-zens sbc kernel with viperboys scripts and i get amazing battery life
Flash tiamat3.3.7/3.3.8 Those were the best versions.
Yeah I just reflashed a whole new rom (savagedzen mod) and its battery is alright I lose nothing at all while in standby mode that's a plus..thanks for everybodies answers!

Hey All
I'm in need of some help. For some reason this whole SBF thing is completely confused me
My Defy
System Version: Moto_Version.34.30.3601.MB525.Vodacome.en.GB
Firmware Version: 2.2.2
Baseband Version: EPU93_U_00.59.02
Build number: JEM_3.4.3-36-1
(Unsure if these will help)
Anyway, I'm wanting to put CM7 or another custom rom onto my phone, but they all seem to be version 2.3 or so, but I want to be able to drop down to my original rom in case I need to return the phone for something
I did the official update to 2.2.2 from 2.1, which was lucky as with my 2.1 stock rom Clockworkmod couldn't read my memory card, seemed to be a common glitch with the SBF version it had, but it seems fine now
I read somewhere to use a Nordic nandroid backup for some reason, cant remember, just found it in my download folder from attempting to get clockworkmod to work on 2.1, restored the image onto my phone, which worked fine, but that seemed to be a no risk flash
So now I'm confused on how to proceed to putting on a custom rom, I fear that I'm going to **** up something, or going to run into issues if I try change to different custom roms
I'm possibly just over thinking what is meant to be done, and it is way simpler than it seems at the moment
anyone have some advice?
Using nordic as a base is old, custom runs like cm7 work on any base.
As long as you don't flash full sbf of gingerbread builds via rsdlite you can always go back to your original 2.2 by flashing full sbf through rsdlite.
Okay coming to installation of custom roms, first thing is to root it. You can use super one click for that. Then install defy 2ndinit after that boot menu and recovery.then you are all set to install custom roms.
For cm7, down load the zip and install through cwm.
Restart phone and as soon you see blue led press volume down, this would put you into boot menu.then select custom/stable recovery. Select wipe user data/factory reset.then go to advanced and select wipe dalvik cache. Come back and select install from zip and give cm7 zip, after finished reboot. It will now boot with cm7, first boot will take few minutes 2-3. It is generally cm7 first boot is in loop, if you are stuck just remove battery and put back and restart.
You can go through cm7 installation thread for better clarity.
Enjoy flashing!

Thanks for the reply
So basicly I just flash the rom straight in clock work mod, no need for fixed SBF's or anything?
Do I need to back up/make full SBF of my stock SBF or something?
Is CM7 7.1 based on Froyo, and you'd just flash it straight from the memory card in Clockwork mod?
Or have I missed the point and meant to flash a fixed SBF to allow for gingerbread or any roms and then reflash 2.2 back on when I want to retore stock again?
Well I went ahead and installed Motogamer, which I downloaded last night and its working fine, but it seems to be based on the froyo kernal
I'm still a little confused as CM7.1 looks like its gingerbread, unsure of the downgradeability to my froyo stock rom, but this rom had no issue when I used my nandroid backup to restore to my stock rom
Thanks for the help
CM7.1 stable is android 2.3.7 with froyo kernel. And there is CM7.2 nightlies with both froyo and gingerbread kernels. I use the defy+ CM7.2 with gingerbread kernel from Quarx (this gives me better battery life) http://quarx2k.ru/, since i have redlens defy.
You dont have worry about the downgradability as long as you dont flash full sbf of gingerbread using rsdlite. All the dev custom roms have no problem in downgrading back to your original stock froyo. Look at if there is any WARNING IN RED regarding downgradability when you download any rom.
There are good number of ROMs to try, whenever you change ROM remember to do full wipe (factory reset and wipe dalvik cache), back up your apps and other information before you do this. If you are upgrading to night revision of same ROM, for example next nightly of CM7.2 we dont have do to full wipe, just cache and dalvik cache wipe would be fine.
If you like Stock ROM, try MS2ginger3.0 which gives awesome battery life and with full blur functionality if you like.
Awesome, thanks
I'm really keen to try more custom roms out, really happy so far with this new one at the moment, but will probably try CM7 soon
Thanks for the advice, not sure I'll go back to stock rom for a long time, just feared that I'd **** something up and not be able to return to stock if needed to
Really keen to start seeing what android really has to offer now
I'm hearing some roms like Slimkat can really improve battery life (standby and in use).
I've been using stock since I got this tablet and now I'm wondering if I should try some customs roms.
Do they really improve battery life over stock? Or maybe just using a custom kernel like Franco with stock is enough? Or maybe a custom rom + custom kernel is the better combo for battery life?
Thanks!
yes and no....

For the Nexus 7 i wouldn't really worry about the Stock ROM draining your battery. There are apps like battery doctor or Greenify which can help you save your battery life, but these apps will require your tablet to be rooted.
The Neuxs 7 Stock ROM isn't a battery hog type of ROM so you will be fine sticking with the stock ROM. If you want to try out new ROM's, the Android Community has made great apps and programs for the Nexus 7. You can install TWRP recovery manager which is an advanced recovery manager and you can install MultiROM which will allow you to install Multiple ROMs onto your Nexus 7 without every touching or damaging your stock Nexus 7 ROM. You can test out new roms in MultiRom without damaging your tablet or affecting your stock ROM.
Now there are custom ROM's that are really great for battery life don't get me wrong. I have a SGS3 with CyanogenMod ROM installed and I have another SGS3 running stock Samsung ROM and the stock ROM is constantly using the majority of the phone's resources. I am constantly having to kill apps to drop the used resources from 80% to 55% usage. So on my SGS3 phone that runs the CyanogenMod ROM i am getting much better battery life than my stock SGS3 phone.
One great thing about a custom ROM is it gets rid of a lot of the bloatware that most people will never use that takes up a lot of resources on your Android device. However, you don't have to install a custom ROM to remove bloatware apps. If you root your Nexus tablet you can install Titanium Backup which can be used to freeze apps and remove stocks apps that couldn't be removed without root/titanium backup.
Again as far as your Nexus 7, you will be just fine sticking with your stock ROM. However, give MultiROM a try. If you root your tablet and install TWRP recovery manager (all can be done with the WuGFresh Nexus Root toolkit -> http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/) then you can install MultiRom with the push of a button. Just go to the Google Play store and download -> "MultiROM Manager" and run the app and it will install MultiROM fo you.
After you have multirom installed you can try as many custom roms as you want...
Hope it helps...

I have Nightly 4.4.4. KitKat installed on my Galaxy S2 D710. Ive been trying to remove bloatware and unwanted apps. I downloaded Re-Calked 2.2 and flashed it using a good CWM. It flashed successfully but when rebooting its at a new "Samsung Galaxy SII" boot screen ive never seen. The colors are still going on the boot screen but it just never fully boots up.
Please lend me a hand/advice if possible.

Odin stock rooted GB27, let it boot up, Odin Agat 1.4.2f recovery, reflash recalked JB.
The device doesn't play nice when you flash between KK AOSP and JB TW.
