Hello,
I have been reading for hours and have tried several different things,
please see my other post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926284
This evening I upgraded to Kernal 1253, my tilt 2 shows that it is running FRX04 and also kernal 1253 but still when I turn on wifi I get the same result (it starts and then it says scanning and then it says staring and then it says disconnected.
I also followed the tips in http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-695230.html which involve putting your mac iaddress into wifi-nvram.txt but that didn't work either. Should Wifi be working on a Tilt2 with the latest kernal and FRX04?
Also, I have noticed that the GPS doesn't apear to be working either. Otherwise the phone works great. Still wish I could get bluetooth working but have not seen anything helpful on that either.
is ur wifi WEP password protected?
because no rhodium android works with that sadly =(
switch it to WPA
You'd probably get better info if you posted in the Android section. Good luck.
This will fix your problem. Find your MAC ADDRESS on your phone and write it in the WIFI-NVRAM.TXT then place the WIFI-NVRAM.TXT in the root of your storage card. Now replace your FROYO.USER.CONF with the one in this zip. The FROYO.USER.CONF is in this folder ANDBOOT/CONF. Now boot android and you'll have wifi working.

Hi all,
I know there are loads of wifi post on here and I have searched and tried all updates and whatnot.
Initially when I dual booted my kaiser to android it kept coming up with an error on the wifi and just wouldn't start. I have put the update on that is meant to fix it and it now starts the wifi, but it just wont search for my wifi!?
If I enter it manually it just comes up with "Not in range"
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks,
Doomie

looks like you need a WiFi Fixer, you can look at http://www.androlib.com/android.application.org-wahtod-wififixer-qwn.aspx

Thanks for that, just grabbed it, installed it and now it just sits scanning and still will not find any wi-fi.
change your kernel or radio version witch android version you use???
I have tried quite a few. The one I have just tried is "Scoot CyanogenMod 6.1.2 RLS6". All of them are doing exactly the same, its just making no sense.
Almost sounds like a bad radio install. I have had "0" problems with wifi using radio 1.70.19.09 OR 1.70.09.01.
Your results may vary as I've seen people using the 1.65 radio roms with no issues as well.
With dual-boot, I'm not too sure that WinMo isn't trying to control your wifi independently of Android. I have no experience in any dual-boot situations as I could never get Haret to work correctly, if at all.
I think I remember someone mentioning that you have to make sure the wifi is either on or off in WinMo before starting Haret. If someone has clarification on this, I'm sure the poster would appreciate feedback.
Wildfire with
ROM: CM 7.2
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-InfinityPlay
Radio: 3.35.20.16
For the last year wifi, after a short period of time i can't download, I mean, some times i connect, get into market for example and download/update, but after some time i can't, it's not a market problem because i can't download from anywhere, regardless the app, but i can browse normally(!), the problem is only in downloading. Even if i reset wifi, go in and out of airplane mode, restart the phone etc, the problem stays. Maybe if i try the next day it works ok. I dont know how it occurs or when and why, nor how/why/when it gets fixed...
The problem started when I had rompuzzle 2.2.1 a year before, till now. Since then I have flashed stock rom with 2.2.1, jockerdroid 4.2, cm 7.1, and cm 7.2 that i have now.
I suspect it is a radio problem, but can't be sure.
*Also sometimes I have low gsm signal, even in well covered areas.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks
You said you flashed stock rom, i suppose it was a stock rom from Android?
It really looks like you have a problem with your radio (like you allready say for yourself).
It seems you have the newest one, so try a lower version.
I you have troubles finding a radio because the host is down or something just pm me or try google.
Hope this helped! Kind regards.
try radio 20.10
i have tried all 3 radios, but the problem stays. But i have noticed that when i enable tether and i put in the console the command for reverse tethering *usually* it gets fixed until the next time that i disconnect from my wi-fi.
i have not the same but similar problem, after a while i get dropped from router, even if my phone says its connected...this started to happen after changing our router (which i couldnt and cant set up) and setting up "N" wifi network...i found two options, how to solve it..
1)use free app wifi fixer from google play store (which somehow manages to know if you are connected or not and can automatically reassociate with router again)
or
2)flash HCDR.Kernel_v4_Flashable.zip from op on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471
maybe it help, maybe not.. gl
I have *temporary* solved the problem by following the reverse tethering guide... I don't know why but after doing this procedure I can connect normally to my router, and if it disconnects (rarely) I just repeat the steps of the guide.
Hello everybody,
I have currently installed the ev_bravo-nightly-2014.01.22-squished.zip on my desire.
But I have a problem using Wifi connection. I have read several threads about similar topics, but could not find a solution. I experienced the same problems with the previous release. At first, after installation, wifi worked well, but after having it turned off it won't turn on anymore. It also says MAC-Adress is unavailable. What I have done was to delete the app2sd script from init.d and to install Int2ExtV2 (runs perfectly). I don't know if this can cause the interference? I have not made any other changes.
Does anybody have an idea?
It would be great if anybody could help me.
I've had this issue with some Roms previously, the Wifi turns On, but won't turn on again after you turn it off
(is that the problem you're having?)
the solution/work around was to put the phone on Airplane mode, and back
this sometimes fixed it
..if not then I'd just restart the phone
there might/should be some other solution..look around or wait for someone to reply :good:
I can confirm that 'MildWild (Android 2.3)' does Not have this issue

Did you find a resolution to this problem? Mine has just stopped working after many years of being OK.
Cheers
I resolved this by running a factore reset eventually, but this of course means you have to reset up your phone from scratch.

Hi all,
I rooted my Galaxy Note 2 N7100 yesterday, which is running 4.3 stock Samsung ROM.
I followed this guide (Philz touch, Multitool to de-knox, cf autoroot)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642480
My issue is that the wifi connects okay, but will only work for a couple of minutes before 'hanging'. For example, I can load websites for a few minutes, then it will just be stuck with the loading bar about 1/4 complete and do nothing. There are no errors like 'obtaining IP address' or anything, still says 'connected'.
Turning wifi off and on seems to cure the problem for a few minutes again, so does the app 'Wifi connection fixer', again for a few minutes.
I have tried several different wifi networks with the same issue.
My battery drain seems to be worse as well, could it be a modem issue? I was under the impression that root wouldn't change modem or anything like that?
Edit: I also flashed Dr Ketan wifi patch and this didn't seem to work either.
Edit 2: Oh no, mobile data isnt working at all now! What is going on?
Edit 3: Mobile data back working intermittently but very very slow.
Edit 4: Mobile data very intermittent. Working sometimes and not most of the time. Was fine before root. Something strange is happening.
Device details:
GT-N7100
4.3
Baseband N7100XXUENA3
Kernel 3.0.31-2437454 [email protected] #1
Any help appreciated.
Cheers, Stu.
It seems that the wifi and mobile data are following the same pattern.
Resetting them / turning them on and off seems to make them work temporarily and then they hang again.
Any ideas?
Getting desperate here, didn't think root would cause these issues, I thought only changing the ROM / kernel would cause this.
I have never had an issue with any android phone connecting to Wifi, but since I just rooted my phone and installed Pure Nexus, I have not been able to connect to the WiFi at work with a DHCP connection. All other WiFi still works.
It seems this has been a long standing android bug, and there are some fixes out there which didn't work. I tried to delete the files in the data/misc/dhcp folder, but there wasn't anything in there. I also switched everything in the dchpcd folder to allow the owner, guests, and others to "execute. Didn't help.
I tried installing a new ROM (Chroma) and I'm still having the same issue. I tried installing a new kernel (Elemental) and I'm still having the same issue.
I installed CatLog, and with no background in programming it's a bit hard to tell what I'm looking at, but it seems like everything works until it gets to a "DCHP Broadcasting" or search or something, and then it just times out and recycles.
Does anyone know what to do?
