It must have been quite an effort... I've edited a few .9.png files, and its not fun. In fact, I've decided to avoid it as much as possible! Figuring out which files to replace is easy, but actually editing them and creating new images is a pain. Thankfully, there are quite a few nice themes already floating around. Lots of tutorials as well.

K. Ported to 3.9.1. Ported as fast as I could, so far as i can tell, everything works just fine. Let me know if there is any "weirdness" and I'll try to fix it.

Clock is android apps weather widget(donate). It's a paid app so i couldn't include in the update.zip.

I agree. If there were a color to add....in my opinion blue. And in fact only as a selection highlight.

There are two links - one for the thee, one for icons. Do the icons from the crenshots not come with the theme? How do we put them into it if not, just flash the .zip.
Related question: why not make theme that the icons can be switched in, like as if using ahome or something. that would be nice

The link for the icons is for bettercut/openhome/ahome/dxtop users who want to use the icons separately.
I would make a theme that can have switchable icons, but I'm not a programmer. You should try the modified launcher thread... I would definitely add that if someone else can code that into the current launcher Cyanogen is using

I'm running Cyanogen 5.0.8-DS, and attached is my boot splash, but I'd like it to also be a bootanimation with the glow on the text sweeping from left to right. Also, if you could move the text closer to the bottom, that would be cool. After I flashed it, I realized that big gap looks ugly but it's late and I'm too tired to fix it tonight. I have searched every forum I can think of for a bootanimation tutorial and I haven't found one, so I figured I'd just toss this request out there.

We redid the MSID forums and so I had to redo all the bootsplash threads... was a PITA. But they are fixed now.

Well first of I've done countless searches on why I'm getting this error but either I'm not searching in the right place or no one can help me. I have a splash screen that I want to flash through fastboot, but whenever I try to do so I get the error

the problem is your bootloader doesnt support fastboot commands. you can either downgrade to .76 or use the tutorial in my signature. this is the exact reason i created that tutorial. give it a shot.

teh MetalDude for life. And currently running CM7. Actually might flash the destroyer rom, it looks sick. And well I'll check it out, but the gimp app is probably a less intensive version of the gimp photo editing program. Its basically a downscaled photoshop.

ya i would make a splash but i spend most of my time on a mac and that program wont work for it. ya thats the gimp i'm talking about. ooohh 2 cm7's that might not work so well... hmm, maybe your checkered alias on left, steelish metal in the middle, and on the right? i'll figure it out. i'll see if i have time. just realized i have a test tomorrow so maybe not... thanks for helping.

My apologies, I forgot you're on a mac most of the time. And let me know how the gimp treats you. And that's the only reason I haven't flashed it is cuz its still CM7, just augmented. I'm not much of a sense person, I like the speed of AOSP, and tried salvage and Evervolv and didn't do much for me. And WELL since it works for me, if you gimme a 480x800 image I should be able to turn it into a splash screen. And good luck on your test.

Aye aye cappy, and oy..I haven't either, but its either 14 or 17, but I am strongly convinced 14, but don't quote me on that.
i decided to quickly whip one up. that wasnt as hard as i thought. the text sort of sux though bcuz gimp has a terrible text edit. i ended up just exporting the background to microsoft word, adding text, and taking a screenie . i'll put more work into it later and hopefully make it better, whether or not anybody puts it in their sigs (it is a bit cocky) but i'm still having fun learning gimp. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10025668/Screen shot 2011-03-13 at 1.28.19 PM.png

I figured out the sound part (PowerOn and PowerOff.ogg) now i need to know how to change the bootssamsung, bootsamsungloop, and shutdown and convert it somehow to a boot animation of my choice, im currently working with Samsung Theme Designer but still trying to figure it out, i heard you can make the qmg files in it for the boot animation if anyone can help me out or know another way or know a really good thread with this it would be greatly appreciated ty.:good:
(Also Android Kitchen im using on Ubuntu too and made my first Rom wondering how to use that to do extra things like making another boot animation of my choice)

ya ive tried google yahoo and bing ive found some but not for bootssamsung, bootsamsungloop, and shutdown qmg files so i think you found ones on boot animation zip files, i know how to do those, but if im mistaken please leave a link to the site or thread for i may have missed it ty and have super duper day :good:
any others come across some info on this leave a post ty

And I honestly followed that guide and made a working boot animation. Granted I need better pics but that method does indeed work.

Are the bootanimations for aosp roms simple zip files? Or do then have to be zipped a certain way? I editted out the little circle under the Guy Faux mask that comes with the Infamous rom and I just get black screen on boot during the animation sequence. Without the edits the Infamous animation file works fine on aosp roms. But with my edits and rezipping the files it doesn't load at all.

They are simple zip files for AOSP. Make sure your picture file names are chronological. also check the desc.txt file to ensure it matches. as well as the part0 etc folders. there honestly isn't much to them, really strange how it wont display properly. and are you re-zipping, or simply drag and dropping the edited file to the zip?

I was rezipping. I will try just dropping the files into the existing zip.
I didn't change any of the other stuff like file names or anythinng. I just took the existing jpg's and edited out the part i didn't like and resaved them as the same file names.

what kind of format and compression were you using on the jpgs? Also, what program did you use to edit them? And what color depth?
Samsung Theme Designer seems easy but i keep getting a weird popup and cant advance to the next step

Windows Paint.
I wasnt doing anything more than adding a black box over top of a section of the animation I ddnt like. But I dont think that was the issue because I left some frames of the animation untouched and those didnt work either.

Lol it only took one picture to break mine. lol. i prefer png. But i think the issue i had with mine was something about layers. the kernel wasn't able to understand the image. Try using Adobe Firefox.

hope you can help this is the part where i get stuck,
when i click Export I get a popup saying, "Please check your theme data. -> Idle Background Animation Object" and i followed the steps to the "T" what am i doing wrong?
(btw the only thing i notice different is that the pics goto the "Animation Object Windows" section but you can only see the first one in the first box but it says there all there on the right panel)

You should take video and make that into a boot animation!
Of course you'd never reboot your phone again....ever...
Good luck with the dentist. Do have someone take video of you leaving the office. From what Im told I was quite the entertainment for about 3 hours as the drugs wore off. I don't remember a bit of it. Though I kind of remember hitting on the nurse....

Yep feeling better today. And I got my bottoms pulled. They were impacted
And not sure if I actually posted it, but upload the pictures you want edited just zip them up. I'm pretty sure it's paint's save format that's breaking it.
