I have two stupid questions about flashing theme.
Firstly I have Leedroid 2.3d ROM
1. if I wont choose windows animations in theme kitchen options ...will I lose those included in leedroid rom? or it just flashes everything I choose and what i dont stays as it was?
2. when I decide to return leedroids theme how can i do that?
I left out the custom animation, and I still get the LeeDroid one.
I think you either re download it from lee's mini site, or just re flash the framework-res.apk from the original rom.
Of course, do a nandroid before any of this, just incase!

WhatROM are you using? Rooted stock?
Theme which you "installed" is for OpenDesire and isn't compatible with any other ROM...
So... flash stock ROM or rstore NANDroid backup...

so probably flash stock ROM.. there was no warning.... what to do now??
Silly.
If youre on 2.1, then you havent rooted, youre using a rooted stock rom or youre using an old Sense rom.
OD is vanilla/stock android 2.2, and even then, finding an up to date BluFrost theme is tricky.

Find rooted stock ROM - download - copy to sdcard - boot into recovery - flash zip from sdcard - find that ROM - choose - confirm - wait - reboot - enjoy!

i rooted my phone and was still unable to get 2.2 !! so i "was" using good old sense on a rooted phone.I tryed the cy...(?) from Clockwork Boot Rom Manager but wasent happy because the ADW Launcher is not this stable... so changed it back and was looing for other ROM´s and silly -i know- tryed BluFrost because thought if something is going wrong i can use the ROM Manager to fix the Problem in the recovery ...but this time it wont start... do fu...
Well...
ATM I have DeFrost 6.0 and it's very good. I had OpenDesire, but it had few bugs...
If you like Sense UI then you could flash LeeDroid, or just rooted stock Froyo...
But there is bunch of ROMs, for everyone to find his...

ADW Launcher isn't the only alternative to Sense. I'm using Launcher Pro and it rocks!
You could've flashed rooted Froyo...

IMHO, ADW is 10000x more stable than LP.
Anyway, are you able to go into recovery when not connected to a pc?

Thx for help and suggestion @bruno1211 and happy birthay soon
i have a rooted desire with Leedroid v2.2f custom rom and the boot screen is not coming at all.
this happened when i flashed a libs file on the phone
is there a way i can get my boot screen to come again ?
Use the nandroid you made before flashing the lib or reflash leedroid
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
i dont want to reflash the whole leedroid rom
is there a way to reflash the boot screen only ?
Are you only missing the boot screen/animation but your phone boots? if yes, than you can just put a new one in /system/customize/resources.
If your phone does not boot and you know which libs you flashed you can copy them back in recovery. If you don't know, reflash leedroid without data wipe and only wipe both caches.

I got the same problem. I thought something wrong with the screen, so I changed to a new Desire with extra 400 RMB....

The easy way would be to use ROM manager, open rom manager, do "backup of current rom" first to back up this working rom in case you want to revert after flashing a new rom, next go to "download Rom" and choose a new rom to download (there are only currently three roms offered in rom manager CyanogenMod,Virtuous and CyanogenMod Nightlies but I dont recommend Nightlies for noobs could have lots of bugs) it will ask if you want to install it, remember to select wipe data/cache any time you switch roms, and let it install the rom.
Other wise you will have to download a rom install it to the root of your sd card, open ROM manager, select boot into recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, select install zip from sd, select choose zip from sd, choose the rom zip you installed and apply, when done reboot and finish. Remeber in either case do a backup in rom manager first.
Thank you so much, do you happen to know where i can find a sense 2.2 rom??

Thats Virtuous, its what I use, use rom manager and download Virtuous 0.8.1 full rom and install.
Remember to wipe when changing roms, you don't need to wipe when applying updates.

open rom manager
select backup current rom if have not already done this (it will boot into recovery and backup your rom then it will reboot back into your current rom)
after that go to download rom
select virtuous
select download full Virtuous 0.8.1
it will download two files Virtuous 0.8.0 and update from 0.8.0 to 0.8.1
when its done it will open rom pre-installation screen
select wipe data and cache
then press ok
it will reboot into recovery and install the rom
that its
I will let you know how it goes

Never used the service, but in going to the website its not loading on my home computer the server might be down. I would try again later. If you still have issues please search the following thread for a fix and if there is no awnser for it you can post your problem there too...

Anytime you install a fresh rom, it starts fresh, you can use the app titanium backup to make a backup of your apps, and info and reinstall them onto diffrent roms. I would suggest to start reading the diffrent threads in this form and start learning how you use your new rooted phone and all the options you now have. Remember there are some roms and radios you dont want to intall on your phone, like the ones made for the desire z. Also might want to check out gfree for your phone. That will give you radio s-off and a true permroot, but you have to use adb to do this. It will also unlock the carrier and carrier id for the phone(so you can use other carrier sim cards). Here is another video on how to set up adb on your computer and the driver needed for your phone.
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
Remember dont do anything unless your sure you understand the directions. Keep reading and searching, this is what is gonna help you understand diffrent aspects of modifying your phone, another good resource is youtube, look up videos on how to do diffrent things, have fun.
Alright thanks

ok, got my desire a month ago unbranded
rooted with unrevoked and got clockworkmod running
tried to make a nandroid backup then the phone just went into a boot loop
i searched the web and apparently its happening with unrevoked desires alot and all you need to do is to apply the recovery you made
however, after applying the recovery, my desire just gets stuck on the white HTC bootscreen, left it for an hour and its still like that. can get into HBOOT and clockwork mod but dont know what to do now- i've tried everything- wiping partition, davlick cache etc.
Can someone please please please help me!! My desire is PVT4 S-ON, stock froyo sense rom, clockworkmod v2.5.07. What ROMS can i flash onto it cyanogenmod, leedroid, open desire etc? Any help will be very welcome.
Sorry if posted in wrong section, am new
Thanks
Just copy another Rom to the root of your SD, perform a complete wipe and then flash that.
Sent from my Desire using XDA App
sorry am pretty noob as you can tell, what kind of rom will i need? cyanogen, open desire?
thanks for the reply
That's up to you ... do you prefer sense or a sense free Rom? Go over to the development section and read up, there are many great roms to choose from. It's all down to preference at the end of the day.

And I assume you know how to flash a custom Rom. Only other advice I would give is remember to partition your SD card if you want to flash an ap2sd Rom
Sent from my Desire using XDA App
thanks so much, flashed clockworkmod and everything is working perfectly
so scared that i had bricked my desire
if i flash this rom, will i still have rom manager recovery?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200261
hi, i read flashing the official 2.3.3 will not allow you to enter custom hboot, as the new hboot is not hacked yet.
i know this rom is just based on the official and is pre rooted but i just want to confirm, if i flash this will i still have my custom recovery manager which i got via unrevoked 1 click rooter and can i go back via my nandroids at any time
also would anyone know the amount of internal space i will get approximately with this rom.
thanks
I'm not sure, but even if it doesn't come with rom manager you can still download and install it
Sent from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
thanks for your reply, but i need to know if i will be able to go back
As far as I understand, the pre rooted rom doesn't change your hboot so you should be able to go back. Check through the rom thread to double check that though mate.

Yea, it doesn't include hboot
