***Unable to boot!!!

Hi,
Here is my problem I have Samsung Galaxy S I9000M (Bell Mobile Canada) I rooted and installed lag fix (Lag Fix 1.0) on my phone but later decided to undo the lag fix but MCR script was force closed by android and didn't work anymore so I decided to reboot my phone and now my phone won't go past GALAXY S screen (I can still get into recovery and downloading mode).
Is it possible to do factory reset to stock rom? Can I wipe data from recovery screen? Wipe cache?
Can anyone suggest further actions please. I know that original Bell Rom is not available so probable will switch to Froyo JM3. How do I go about it?
I don't care about all the data and software on my phone since its brand new. How do I remove MCR Script before installing custom Rom? How do I format internal sd card?
Please help.

you are lucky
boot into the 3 button download mode
then use Odin, to flash back the original ROM, then you can play with whatever else other versions of ROMs

does anyone have original Bell rom? How do I format internal SD card so MRC script is removed? Or how do I wipe everything and have a clean Rom???

Went into recovery wiped data and cache and Rom back to stock (still rooted though)

[Q] Installing Custom Themes

[Q] I have a rooted Evo and I was wondering if there were any tips someone can give me on installing custom themes? I found and downloaded a few that I like but every time I try to install them from recovery and it completes, it always gets stuck on the splash screen on reboot.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Are you wiping?
Are you sure you're using the right themes? By that, I mean, a theme meant for a different ROM than the one you're using?

Thanks for the info. I didn't wipe the first time. I got the phone to boot up but now butwhen it starts it says that the HTC launcher keeps failing. It just keeps going into a constant loop trying to restart itself. Do you know what this could be?

What ROM / Theme are you flashing?
Could try starting from scratch. Did you make a backup before all of this?
Could always restore nand and go from there. But what ROM / Theme.

Happened to me before, i just wiped everything, then cache, then dalvik cache. Then isntalling ROM, then once booted. when into recovery,cleared cache and dalvik cache and flashed theme, make sure theme is made for that rom

[Q] Maps quits after launch

HI.
I've installed Maps.apk with the Navigation hack from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007132
but when I try to run the app, it quits after a few seconds.
I've tried to revert back to the old version I had and the same issue occurs.
I've deleted Dalvik cache and wiped cache partitions. I've also tried to move the APK to /system/app... but nothing helps.
Anyone here can help?

it sounds like its maybe related to your ROM . what ROM are you running?

okay I'm not familiar with that rom. but I'm pretty sure it is the ROM.

[Q] Crash to music app?

So when I hangup, the dialler seams to crash and the standard HTC music app appears, this seams to happen on a few app, it looks like they crash, then the music app is on screen?
I am running a custom rom, Charmeleon_V5.0.0 but this also did the same on other rom's, happens a lot when I hangup from a phone call!
Happens on Android_Revolution and modaco, after super wipe, or normal wipe?
Any ideas?

A few months ago I experienced a few problems with my phone too. What worked for me was to reinstall the rom by a few steps.
You can try a reinstall with these steps:
1) Superwipe
2) Install ROM boot image (optional)
3) Install ROM
4) Wipe cache and dalvik
5) Let it boot, ensure it's fine
6) Reboot into fastboot
7) Install the repacked boot image (boot.img)
8) Modules (if available)

Few Questions

Ok rooted my DHD about week ago with AAHK have now try 3 diffrence roms. the newest rom (icecold sandwish) is doing so weird things once in allpications settings phone was showing only like every 3th letter or so and some where was only some mess reboot fixed this. also have got some random crushes but had some with original 2.3.5. Also had some weird battery problems used battery to 0% loaded up to 100% and when started phone it says was still 0% and switching off stucked on screen replug battery fixed this.
batween on 1 and 2 rom didint clear cache did only factory reset between 2-3 (current) did full clear so wondering is my phone now bit mess cos didint do the cache and dalvik cache between 1 and 2 or is it normal to do some little bugs?
just wondering as i have now custom rom can i have back my original android what was in before root if it havent been backuped?
and last when you press power and - volum at start screen is hboot recovery and factory reset what will it do actually the same as in recovery or will it reset the devise to same state as it was when i 1st got it ?

Do not do the factory reset - it will only make things really bad.
When in recovery, before flashing a rom:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe dalvik
Format all partitions (except sd card)
That will make sure a good install of whatever rom you choose.
All ics roms are buggy. The devs are still working on them.
Suggestion: flash a gb rom.
You should be able to find a stock rooted rom if thats what you want.

One you need to full wipe and then flash rom. On ice cold the messed up letters no need to reboot its the launcher so go into launcher setting and restart launcher should fix issue. If your on ice cold see if you have the cfs kernel or bfs kernel cfs is known to cause reboots. As for hboot you can enter recovery that way do not wipe factoey reset there without a rom on sd to flash. It erases everything and if you don't have a rom to flash after your will regret it and be back here asking why phone won't turn on.
