I just have my DHD about two days. I was really, really careful with it.
But now I have:
- Two little specks on my screen, maybe dead pixels, but it seems to be on the top layer of the screen. Damage would be really strange, because nothing happened to the phone.
- Youtube app keeps crashing. For instance, I was watching a vid, paused and went back to the home screen. When I returned to youtube it crashed.
- The microphone stopped working after I tried to fix the gap with the SIM-card cover (it went well). SO voice control, Soundhound, camcorder all don't work.
- Camcorder app keeps crashing.
- And a lot of other apps also crashed.
I'm really disappointed in this. I just expected my new phone to run just smooth and without any problems, but this reminds me of a crashing PC.
Can you help me? Or do I need to get a new one?
EDIT: Camera app stopped working too! When I Open camera or camcorder app, a camera logo appears, and then I go back to the home screen
EDIT2: Goggles died too!
EDIT3: Music app plays, but I hear nothing! (Full volume). And Youtube app entirely stopped working! It play, but I only see a black screen and there's no sound too!
Since you have done no mods to the software I'd say it's a faulty phone.
Maybe do a factory reset and see if the problems persist but if that doesn't fix it send it back.
Someone swyped my idea.
Wow. Sounds like your phone is falling apart. Try a hard reset on your device, if it still fails, I would send it back seeing you've only had it for a few days.
I send it back.

Hi
Basically been having this problem for a while now and its starting to bug me. I rooted my phones ago now, and until recenlty the camcorder worked fine on all ROMS, however recently been facing a big problem with it. Every time I launch camcorder on any ROM my phone will freeze and have to take battery out and restart. I unrooted it and installed stock and it worked fine (so it can't be the SD card) re rooted again installed RSK and boom same problem. Does anyone have solutions to this?
Thanks in advance
If I remember correctly, the aroma installer gives you the option to change between two with a warning about one not recording. Also, have you tried another third party app to see if that works? You may also want to try taking the battery cover off and pressing (not too firmly) over the camera window and on the metal sheilding around it. It might have slightly disloged from the upper board but try the software first.
If you start noticing the notification LED, receiver (earspeaker) or camera flash not working as well, then it may need the upper board reconnecting to the main board and you should send it in for repair, but this is a pretty thin possibility, as I said, software first.
I love my LG G3 but the front camera has been giving me trouble.
For the first week its great (except my wife keeps borrowing it for selfies haha). Then suddenly the front camera stops working. Trying to activate front camera in any app (I tried LG Camera, Google Camera, Hangouts with Vid call) results in that app locking up for about 10 seconds then crashing back home screen on a pretty usable phone. Do it once more and the whole phone becomes unusable - even long hold power off won;t work, requiring battery extraction to recover it.
I have tried removing data and cache from the camera app and that didn't help.
Tried a software data reset (via the menus), that didn't help.
Just for kicks I enabled ART in developer menu to see if that possibly helped, it didn't (side note: ART seems snappy)
So I am at a loss now, next step after this is hard reset, but I am not optimistic that will achieve anything the soft reset didn't.
Anyone else encountered similar issues?

It didn't. Result seems the same as the menu based reset. Not unexpectedly.
Hi there,
Just got my Lg G3 and all works great but after a while (few hours) the same problem accured...the camera crashed when i switched from rear to front and after that even rear wouldn't work.
I did factory reset...still same problem. Then i focused on my case...i realized that this problem appeared when i installed quick circle cover (it has no wireless charging on the back cover) soo i removed it and installed original. Camera works like a charm now!

Hi There,
Did you manage to resolve this issue with the front camera? I am having the same problem.
Thanks
Guys, do a hard reset..not a soft reset.
Anyways, its seems that there is a problem with the hardware itself since you mentioned that you've tried several camera apps and still force closing. Try bringing it to a service center..you might be able to get a replacement.

Getting a weird one. When I am video'ing, and I try to zoom in, the camera then crashes with "Unfortunately, the camera has stopped". I have tried with Google Camera, which I have installed, and the zoom seems to work fine, but I would rather use the LG G3 camera app. The zoom works fine when not recording, and when taking stills, but only crashes when actually recording
I have tried a full factory reset, and even waited till the next OTA was released (v10i), hoping that a new ROM would fix this, but still having the same problem
Yesterday, when showing someone the issue, the zoom was working ... which confused me, but then later on during the day, had to reboot the phone. Went to show my partner last night that it was working, and it was crashing again. This morning tried to zoom, and yep, it seems to be working today
This has really got me stumped. If it was hardware, you would expect it all the time, and for it to fail on other 3rd party apps. I like the stock app, but cannot use it as my default in case I have the zoom issue, and therefore lose what I am videoing
Anybody have any ideas on this?
The phone is stock, LG-D855 and running V10i-EUR-XX
Has nobody else had this issue, or any ideas how to resolve?
I am having an issue with videos recorded on my LGG4. During playback on the phone or uploaded to Facebook, there is a constant clicking noise that can be heard over any recorded sound on every video. I have tested several different recordings and all are the same. Here is a short sample that you can listen too...

Bad phone or is there a easy fix?
Hi. I have the same playback issue on my G4. I tried recording with Google Camera and I had no problem, no weird sounds or whatever. I guess this happens only when using the stock camera app. Mine is updated to MM v20a.
Hi, same problem here. That's the second exchange with amazon, the first one had display issues (random white noise on the right half of the display) this one has the clicking noise during video recording on the left channel. Seems like it's related with the wifi module: disabling it the clickning noise disappears, but the audio recording is still bad compared to the previous g4 i returned to amazon.

I have the same issue. Strange that everything is fine when using different app. Looks like firmware problem ? Did you sort it out ? I have just updated my phone to Android 6.0 v20c .
guys, can you try turn off wifi then record video , do you still have clicking sound ?
if u use a case, try record without the case.
Hi. I have switched my wifi off and I did not notice any changes. Still I can hear clicking noise. I do not use any cases. Strange that everything is fine when I using google camera open app... I found out that lots of people noticed the same issue. It cannot be hardware problem...
I have the same problem, but ONLY and ONLY if wifi is on, i get clicking sound in stock camera WITH wifi on, in other apps i dont have it, but when i turn it OFF , clicking sound is gone... even when i record video and during recording i turn of wifi, sound instantly dissapears, for me it's the wifi problem, i can upload video if you dont belive me
I have the same clicking noise with or without wifi on. I did not notice any issues when using open google camera app. Looks like it is stock camera app fault ?

clicking sound comes near earpiece.what default camera does is that it records audio from secondary mic which is near earpiece.whereas 3rd party camera womt use secondary mic.that too clicking sound will come more when wifi/bluetooth is ON.
Same here, and clicking goes away with WiFi off.
Wanted to ask, did anybody return and got a replacement device based on this? Or even had it fixed by service?
I mean, are there devices that don't have this problem? Cause if there are, then it's a valid warranty/service request.
I have got my mother board replaced.

Was that the only problem it had? And is the problem gone now?
We purchased one of these in December and there was no issue with the phone. We had to return the phone for another reason and when we got it back it was updated to the latest version of Android Marshmellow (It was on Lollipop when it left) and the clicking was there. We also noticed a minor reduction in photo quality, not something I can put a finger on it, but when we first got it the photos were awesome, now they are not so clear, colourful, sharp.
Edit:
We sent it back for repair again due to the clicking and when we got it back (last night) nothing changed, it still makes the same noise.
I can stop the clicking but I have to turn off Wifi, Data and bluetooth and then it seems to go away.
As I'm new to Android I'm hesitant to see if I can take it back to Lollipop and see if it stops the problem.
What version of software are you on?
Does turning off Wifi, Data, Bluetooth help? Or does it just reduce the sound?
Do the pictures seem less then what a camera with these specs should have?
Marshmallow v20d. Yes turning off things makes the clicking go totally away. Can't comment on picture quality change, as I updated to marshmallow as soon as I got it.
Had mine sent two times in less than a month, on its way to the third this week.
First time was sent with this audio problem and battery swelling. They replaced the battery and the charging connectors, but said they could not reproduce the earpiece clicking noise during their tests, despite the fact that I had included in the phone a video example showing the problem, clear instructions on how to replicate the problem and the shop lady confirming - in writing - that she had tested and confirmed that there was a clicking noise problem. Problem was, when I received the phone from the first repair I was unable to test whether the audio problem was gone or not because they changed the last account associated to the phone, completely blocking me from accessing it and verify if the audio problem as still present.
Sent back a second time on the same day, with even more clear details on how to reproduce the audio problem - since they failed to reproduce the first time, I assumed it was still there - returned after a simple software upgrade and I was able to finally enter the phone. Came home, tested with WiFi (store's wifi was down) and the audio problem was still there, completely unchanged.
Tested without SIM (in case LTE/GSM etc. could be causing interference with WiFi), tested without SDCARD (at this point I was just trying to see what they did to NOT replicate the problem) and tested with 5GHz wifi, in case the problem was only with 2.4GHz bands. No change, the audio problem was always there.
After reading this thread, and other threads in different forums, I am certain that this is a hardware problem and I will demand that the store tech writes in the warranty sheet that he confirmed the problem, along with a very detailed step-by-step instruction guide to replicate the problem, video example included inside the phone and a link to video example hosted only for them to hear clearly what the problem is, just in case they fail to understand the obvious (https://youtu.be/oZOb8tIl5lw). Finally, I'm going to contact LG directly to report this situation and to take action if the incompetent brand techs fail to replicate and fix the problem yet again.
The only good part about all this is that they have been really fast, no more than week and a half (weekends included) for both "repairs".
NFC was the issue on my android Nokia 3
I have a brand new Nokia 3 running android 7.1.1
It also has the problem of audio clicks on video recordings. THE PROBLEM IS NFC. When NFC is disabled the clicks go away. Not impressed with a 2017 smartphone model having thus issue. Though Nokia probably have the Microsoft bug curse
I have the same problem with my 2016 LG G4. I sent my phone to LG Service and they replaced my speaker obviously not resolving the problem... now I'm sending it back again.
Hello XDA,
I have reviewed everything that is out there on the internet and have not been able to resolve my issue.
I have LG G3 Rogers version, unlocked, never rooted. It used to work fine before. I started noticing my Youtube videos from the app stopped playing giving an error message (Error code is different every time) Youtube videos from the browser play but without sound, Instagram videos/live streams/stories (anything that has sound; IG videos with no sound when posted by the user works fine) stopped playing, spotify wouldn't play music but the timer of the track would keep going. This is with headphones, without headphones. Doesn't matter. Then when I restart my phone, the issue is completely fixed, for some time until it starts again. The way I know it will mess up is my pattern unlock sound goes out first. Then my lock sound and eventually certain key taps are not recognized. But again, when I restart the phone, everything is fine. I use Action Launcher 3, I've tried without it. I have factory reset my phone and I am running Marshmallow.
Any ideas? Much appreciated.
Thank you.

If you have been using it for more than three years in a row, The android version wears out... (gets old)...
you might have to check for system updates or (in rare cases (or) you cannot tolerate kinda case) you can flash another rom on your LG G3.
Android ROMs give you a better battery life (which also eventually wears out after three years of usage) and better performance...
Hello,
I got a new battery about 6 months ago so not so worried about that part. Is there any to troubleshoot and deduce what could be causing this issue?
Hello,
Quick update: I have not had any issues with the phone for about 2-3 days now. I had pattern unlock set on my device with rain dew drops as the dots. Since I've removed the dew drops, this issues has stopped. Currently I have knock code set on as screen lock. I will now try pattern unlock again, but with basic dots only to see if this occurs again. Keep you posted.
