Yes this works great on my VM Intercept. Make sure you flash stock Sprint 2.1 then stock Sprint 2.2, then flash this. For some reason going to 4.2 caused a bunch of FC's, so I flashed 4.0 and then flashed 4.2. Has been working great ever since. How to link is below.
I like nightlies! As soon as my girl let's me mess with her phone, ill slap this baby on there. 4.2 is the best her phone has seen. 2weeks, she hasn't had a fc or needed to reboot for those odd reasons that occur time to time.

where to get custom recovery for intercept?
Sorry if this is a noob question, but which custom recoverys work with this phone? I read in an unrelated post about inxane's, but haven't found how to get it on the phone yet.

FroydVillain 1.1.9 INFO & Release Notes:
Hi folks, ninpo has been working on this one non-stop for the past few days, so he is having a well-earned rest, and I'll write up this release.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
REMEMBER the ROM will only be at peak performance after it's been rebooted a couple of times, and when you've opened your apps once prior.
adb install won't work on this ROM, until you tick "Unknown Sources" in the Menu > Settings > Applications menu.
This appears to be a new security feature. Similarly, apps pushed to /data/app won't work either. You might not notice the issue, but the app does not get any of its permissions it should have, meaning that it is probably useless, and might FC constantly or whatever. So remember to tick the Unknown Sources box
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
When you install this ROM, DO NOT USE GOOGLE BACKUP OR RESTORE. It really slows the ROM down, like all Froyo ROMs, and it uses loads of battery even when you think you're not doing anything. So it's not cool. So turn it off in the setup wizard
This ROM does NOT come with the optimal kernel installed. It comes with a safe one. You NEED to read the section "kernels" below for more information about these, and which to choose Then, once installed, open the app "CPUSpeed" and set up your CPU speeds. This ROM uses the interactive governor, which gives much better battery than other governors... So, set interactive as the main governor, then set your minimum and maximum. Then repeat this for sleep mode. If you have a 352MHz base kernel, set both the max and min sleep speeds to be 352 MHz
So... What's changed?
[*]CAMERA WORKS FOR VIDEO AND PHOTOS (thx cyanogen)
Includes DSPManager
Autobrightness fixed
Includes new CPUSpeed app- no need for SetCPU
Faster boot process
New boot animation
Pressing menu twice will unlock screen
Big kernel changes (more info to follow)
Different build method to improve binary performance
So... How do I get it?
A full wipe is MANDATORY for this ROM, regardless of what you're upgrading from
See here for download information etc.

awesome rom, tested a bit and i'm finally gonna drop my 2.1
Just FYI, the two kernel variants (19MHz base or 352MHz base) are for the two different types of Hero users. One group apparently cannot put their phone to sleep at anything less than 352MHz or all hell breaks loose and the others can set low speeds no problem.
So choose based on your past overclocking methods.
EDIT: I'll post a kernel changelog tomorrow. Too tired now. Lots and lots and lots and lots of fixes though.
Just one more quick little question if y'all don't mind.
Does this release include the stock keyboard dictionaries that were missing in 1.1.1? Like Dutch etc.

Ok, awesome rom. There is some strange thing in the settings menu - "@221390573215" or something. Pressing it causes a FC.
No need to wipe anything when flashing a kernel.

Yeah it's a bug, my fault. I cheat and use Cyanogen's repo so I don't have to make my own Hero vendor/devices. I didn't strip CMparts out properly in this one.
What's it all about?
Based on XXJVP deodexed *** NOW A NO WIPE ROM *** NEW
SpeedMod K15H-T10 kernel NEW
Gingerbread theme, AOSP lock screen, overscroll glow, CRT off animation, extended power menu
Sounds from Galaxy S II NEW
KC1 modem from Bell - 850Mhz support
LauncherPro replaces TouchWiz
Titanium Backup and AppWidgetPicker included
GPS tweaks for North American users - faster lock, better accuracy
All useless Samsung Apps and unecessary APKs have been removed
Google Talk 1.3 for audio/video chat NEW
Changelog
Version R2 - June 20th, 2011
Changed kernel to latest SpeedMod K15H-T10
Replaced ringtones/notifications with sounds from Galaxy S II
Upgraded Google Talk to 1.3 for audio/video chat
Updated to latest Google Maps from market
Updated to Gallery version that should eliminate possible battery drain
What's the point?
An easy, single update.zip ROM to get an ultra-lite 2.3.4 install that is as close to stock Gingerbread as possible, and that is optimized for North American users (850Mhz band, GPS fixes).
Is it any good?
I think so, yes. This is the most stable and longest lasting battery life configuration I have ever used on an I9000.
How do I download it?
Download XXJVP_Deodexed_I9000M_R2_NoWipe.zip here (125MB)
How do I install it?
Copy the .zip to your SD card
Reboot into CWM
If you are NOT on an XXJVP-based ROM - or - you want to start with a fresh install, use the "wipe data/factory reset" option
Flash the .zip
A note about lag fixes...
If you are currently using an ext4 file system conversion, you do not need to undo it before flashing this ROM.
If you are using anything else (ext2, jfs, etc) then you must undo it before upgrading.
This ROM does not automatically apply any file system conversion. You can apply ext4 using CWM after installing if you want.

THX radeon_x i'll try your rom
edit: fantastic rom very fast but why for north america it works great in france? good job my friend
So far so good! Battery already seems better than any other rom I've tried.
Would have loved bln but that isn't as important as being able to use my phone for a full day!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
How long have you tested it? I have been having issues with all the GB roms I have tried on my I9000m. I was getting a huge lag on some and also my cell connection would flip to airplane mode (without the symbol but that is what it said on the extended power menu).
Tried switching to the JV6 modem for a GB modem with the 850 band and the lag seemed to go but the connectivity was still off. Downloading now but I'll wait to see some more comments before I flash...
I like the idea as I am getting tired of the custom roms with 10 lockscreens and other junk though if I had one suggestion its to add the extended power menu. That is just so useful! But I know that too many suggestions are what can wreck a rom...
G
installed last night will try today and let u know. really the idea of north american rom with kc1 whitch i use anyways. thank you..
hi radeon.... good work!! may i know what are the apps that you removed so i can also safely remove the apps that are not essential in my XXJVP stock...thanks
the one thing i noticed right away was the ram is better. this is because of ultra light. just charging phone and going out for the day will check back tonight will use all day.
Good to see that it's working for some people.
I didn't mention it originally, but the extended power menu is included in this ROM.
Also, for a complete list of APKs that I have removed please see the download page under the "What's removed" section. I've added a list of all the removed apps. Based on my months of testing, these are the apps that can be safely removed without causing any problems.
Awesome that extended power is on it. Going to flash now.

Yes, it does do a clean wipe.
In theory if you are using an EXT4 lag fix then you do not need to undo it first. I would, however, recommend that you do undo them before upgrading... just in case.

simple...get them from the market
and Radeo_x says it in the first post...'' to get an ultra-lite 2.3.4''
Update R2 now available. Switched the kernel to SpeedMod, switched to sounds from Galaxy S II and upgraded to GTalk 1.3.
Also the ROM is now NO WIPE. You can install over your current XXJVP ROM and keep all your data if you want. If you want a clean install or you're on a pre-JVP ROM, you should do a wipe data/factory reset in CWM before installing.
Enjoy.
EDIT: Quick note about Google Talk 1.3
There is a known issue with GTalk 1.3 right now that if a PC user initiates a video call to your phone, then audio will not be transmitted from your phone to the PC user.
If you initiate the call from your phone to the PC, then audio and video work perfectly fine in both directions.
Maybe it's all about marketing (the "North America" reference), but I have to admit that you've peaked my interest. Any theme out there that is compatible with this rom? Or has anyone successfully installed a theme?

Thanks for this.
Installed Rom and apps no issues.
Couple of things I noticed.
On initial start up, it says it is skipping Wifi setup, then takes you to the Wifi setup screen.
Love the battery icon, but the Network icon is still there, any chance you could remove that ?
I like that you have included a file manager, I keep my backups on the external card. It was a bit of a pain as I had to go to the market to get Es file manager just to get to the External card with the other rooms.
Wallpapers are a nice touch but I find they do not scale correctly ? That's why I have to use Wallpaper Slide show to sort out scaling ?
Have not tried OTG yet, but I feel its an app issue to get that working for large internal drives.
Seems to be a problem with the md5 checksum for the rom. I've downloaded the file on 2 computers and on my Xoom. All three report a checksum of B6C410298E5816E3DE1AB206FC1BFBE5. Not a match. Well, going to assume the one in the OP is incorrect and flash it anyway. It's the old no pain, no gain thing I guess.
Flashed and up and running. Haven't been running it long enough to check everything out but I like what I see so far. Very responsive and running smooth.
Thanks for the ROM kejar. Nice, just as one would expect from you. Only thing I know of so far that could use a little tuning is that md5 sum in the OP. . Thanks again.
So great to see you on the xoom cant wait for all the awesomeness to come

OBS -> When you install this ROM, it's system ui will be black. To solve this force a notification. Try desmount and mount sd again and bug fixed .How to Install:
1. In facebook, search PedroH' and thanks him for the rom, and give review here. (Isn't necessary but highly recommended);
2. Download the latest version of rom and put on SD card.
3. Go to recovery, wipe everything but SD card and flash it.Reboot.
4. In first boot ROM will be laggy as hell. After 5 minutes reboot it again and you're ready.
However, I say this;
Do not use this rom as base without PedroH' permission!
We cannot help you if you:

Modified the system with scripts and other stuff.

Hey dev, I have a question... why after reboot phone, date and time sometimes show date for yesterday or tomorrow? Even when i used automatic date and time from provider...
Thanks before

IDK man ... probably it doesn't recognize that u actually reboot the phone and still operates using random dates and times; isn't a problem on ICS itself, on Froyo and GB this happens too. Don't worry +D

Welcome to the ClearDroid ROM!
Code:
This ROM is from the ClearDroid Team.
While it should be stable, I am NOT responsible if you
lose data/damage your device/cut yourself on sharp
edges/turn your device into a thermonuclear explosive/
melt kittens/create brain-hungry zombie McNuggets/
anything else bad that I forgot to mention. That said,
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU BEGIN.
Our Facebook Page is located here!
Had a couple of requests now for the Rom that Bdaman80 and I are running on our GS3's, so here it is. Keep in mind, as usual, it's only the beginning and is a work in progress.
The purpose of this ROM is to give you a near-stock experience with a few added features. It is not going to be loaded down with everything under the sun, and if at all possible, I want it to remain so that you won't even have to wipe your stock ROM before installing this. However, should something not work as it should, make a full Titanium backup, then do a full wipe before installing again, then restore the app data you need through Titanium after installing.
What's Included:
-Android 4.1.1 from AT&T Base
-Deodexed
-Zipaligned
-Rooted
-Added Extended Shutdown Menu
-Modded MMS app (in ModPack) to allow lots of hidden menus
What's NOT included?
-AT&T Bloatware
Known Issues?
-None.
Download Latest Rom Version (1.1.1 C) Here
Download Latest ModPack Version (1.0.0) Here
Flash ModPack after you boot the Rom, and do not wipe in between.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q:My Messaging app won't show up?
A:If you are on version 1.1.1 B, flash version 1.1.1 C instead. It contains the factory messaging app again. Once that boots and the app shows back up, you may flash the ModPack over top of that, to get the additional options for the messaging app.
Welcome!
Where did you get AT&T 4.1.2 from?

Oops! It's 4.1.1, sorry about that. So to answer your question, evidently my mind.

No screen shots?
I'm no longer at my computer, I'll try to add some tomorrow. Consider it stock for now though, there's not much to show yet.

Edit: Added some.
Will give it a try! Thanks
Added some images from my own setup.
FWIW: I'm using Nova Launcher Prime and Pixel Zombies Live Wallpaper, with Beautiful Widgets.
If you can't tell, I don't much care for touchwiz lol.
This version includes a working wifi tether app. (Personal experience), a couple other apps im playing with, and anything considered "junk" gone.
If anybody would care for a zipped up file of the bloat, speak up and I will provide one. I know some people will possibly want some things back

Just flashed this and lost root

What recovery?
If CWM then reflash again and at end of flash allow it to fix superuser. It is a small bug to work out

Its twrp ... ive been here before I'll get past it again... was just letting it known... usually comes from a bad flash. ..
Edit: fixed... wiped including system and reflashed... superuser still complained that the binary was out of date but all I had to do is select install and it updated. All is good now

just flashed this ROM, i love that it is mostly stock. pretty good so far. will be posting an updated update post tomorrow after i use the rom for a day or so. but so far its no issues.
What would you guys think of changing the stock icons to their original AOSP counterparts? Not the apps, just the icons, like in the background of one of the images?
Dunno if it'd even work or not, but worth a shot. I really really don't like the stock icon looks. Lol.
Wow, 92 downloads already.
Also, do any of you use Rom Manager still? We could add this into it if it's desired.
