[Q] Force USB Mass Storage Mode - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know how to FORCE the Samsung Epic into USB Mass storage mode? Tryin' to force it into USB storage mode while connected to my TV. Thanks in advance!!

I have a "mount" option set up with Extended Controls (market). That might do the trick.

Mass Storage Mode

Hey guys, I'm a new android user and I know I can get into usb mass storage mode by going to Settings->Wireless and Network->Usb Utilities. But I was wondering if there was a way to create a shortcut to it. I see in the market there is a mount usb widget but it has some bad reviews. Any ideas?
Dont let the bad reviews put you off, give it a try. I used to use it with no problems, now I use multi mount sd card widget which I have set up to launch on connection to usb.
Software data cable works for wireless. Free in the market.

If you go to settings> applications> development and then put a tick by usb debugging it will ask you if you want mass storage every time you plug the wire in then it will be in your notification bar.

[Q] Disable MTP?

Hi,
is it possible to disable the MTP connections automatically established when pluging the Nexus in?
I wouldn't want a public computer I might connect my Nexus to for charging to be able to read my storage.
I know I can switch it to camera, but that's just a workaround. With "normal" Android devices (with an sd-card), you always need to hit "enable usb mass storage", it would be nice if there were some option like that in the Nexus.

Thanks!
How does that affect the MTP, though? Still possible? How about adb or any other kind of connectivity?

Set USB Mass Storage to Default on Samsung ICS ROMS

I found this very useful app in the market. It is meant for the original galaxy but i have found that it works well for our E4GT. It allows you to set USB Storage or MTP to default when you connect to your computer.
It requires a reboot once you change.

Change my phone back to usb mass storage?

Everytime i plug my computer in its plugged in as a media device, is there anyway i can put it back to just usb mass storage with the android with a usb plug arm. ?
The galaxy nexus utilizes MTP for transfers so if I'm not mistaken it wouldn't allow you to use USB mass storage mode.

The Galaxy Nexus has a single unpartitioned storage, and can't be mounted as USB Mass Storage. You get MTP/PTP and that's it.
