[Q] HTC Desire HD - GPS Problem with CM7

Hi,
I flashed CM7 RC 1 and 3 but my GPS does not work at all. I have tried with Google Maps and GPS test but got no result, my GPS is dead....
I have a HTC Desire HD with:
Baseband 12.28e.60.140fP_ 26.04.02.17_M2
Kernel 2.6.32.28-cyanogenmod-gb17f070 android at giulio - desktop#1
Any help?

I installed cyanogenmod 6.1.3 and GPS works great..... I was thinking that the problem may have been the radio but the same radio with the 6.1.3 works great, so I guess something wrong in the ROM CM7

Update your radio to the latest radio and it should work fine

SOLVED - GPS Problem with CM7
Last night I flashed Build # 6 of the RC1 and everything now works fine.....

which radio are we talking about? link?

You could try FasterFix from the Market. It should help.
You could also try to flash the Radio which the Devs recommend.

I confirm, no problem with radio 12.28e.60.140fp_26.04.02.17_M2

Nothing wrong when I was on CM7 before switching back to revolution ROM.

GPS status says I have 2 fixed satellites and fixes on them within seconds. Google maps cannot find my location when only gps is enabled. HTC desire hd cm7 rc4.

and my gps is not working on google maps or google earth any solution?

For my Desire HD a Speck case killed the GPS signal. Remove the case, GPS is fine???? A problem like this could mask a lot of suspected software problems since who would suspect the case?

[Q] GPS problem MildWild CM-3.8

Hello!
I just got my desire and put the MildWild CM-3.8 on. Everything is ok but GPS is not working at all. I can turn it on but there is no GPS sign in task bar in any app that is using it (Igo, sportstracker, gps status, z-device test)...
What to do?

I installed 3.7 and then 3.8 over and now it is working....
EDIT: Not solved I went running with app sportstracker and after 10 min the phone restarted. And started app again and it restarted again after 2 minutes...So there is something wrong with GPS in this ROM....

I will go to another ROM. Does anybody know if there is the same problem with MildWild V-3.5 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 ?

I've had all latest Mildwild oxygen releases, and flashing the agps fix it all works.

So in original rom there is the same problem with GPS? I will try it today. Will this fix the problem in CM7 version too?

I used fasterfix app on CM 3.7, and GPS works while running My Tracks and Runkeeper at the same time. Haven't tested CM 3.8 yet.

if your gps isn't working at all:
settings->location and security->gps source->use internal antenna
i know its preset on stock roms so many ppl dont think about it when using custom
happened to myself^^

I tryed out new MildWild V-3.6 Based on Oxygen 2.3.2 + GPS fix + new kernel 2.6.35.14_r4. Went running with sportstracker + music from stock player and there was no problem... This is realy great rom . Thx MildWild !

I have a problem with my GT-5660M, i have just installed the rom Enhanced236 Update 16/08/2012 (Last Update)
Every thing work normaly except GPS, the GPS is activated but it can't locate my position.

[Q] GPS problems with CRON-o-GENMOD-9 ROM

I love the ROM CRON-o-GENMOD-9 but I have the problem that my GPS signal is buggy. I did not have the these problems with the sandvold rom.
During the route the connection is lost and recreated every 2 to 5 minutes.
What can I do to solve this or is it the CRON-o-GENMOD-9 ROM.
I'm using version 1.3 but the previous versions had the same problem.

I am sure this is a radio issue, but not sure what the best radio is for this rom / device. Also, can I install the radio without having to reinstall CM10?
If someone can please recommend me a radio, that would be great. Thanks :laugh:

the new uvli4 works great for me. theres a thread under development with all flashable radios. you can also try the agps patch. hope that helps

Thanks for the reply. I installed the T989UVLI4 radio and everything has been working great! I tested my GPS today and it was perfect in CM10.
I also need to mention that I was having GPS problems because by default, CM10 had all the location services off by default. So if anyone is having the same issue, go to you're system settings, then location services and turn them all on.

I have the same problem GPS doesn't lock in CM 10 for me too I use Optimus Black
