A Really big one!! (Kaiser problem of course) Help - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

Hello hello
I'm quiet noob in english and android ^^.
Since 2 days i'm trying to install froyo on my device!
I can't flash my device! I tried many differents .nbh files but no changes
I really need your help!
I'm following this tutoriel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10424799&postcount=451
And this android version:Incubus RS16
this is the .nbh file used: http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/files/?C=M;O=D
This is the screen i got when i try home+camera on boot: http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/4931/dscn2273.jpg
If you have questions..... Thanks for your helps!

Use this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=680518
its better to download the latest KAISimg.nbh from ATools.
and make sure you have formatted your sd card to fat32 , in order to flash the kernel and install everything without errors.

Follow the guide in atools help.

Thanks for yours link
I follow them step by step but i still have the same problem!
It's amazing pls help me guys! i really need my phone.
hardspl 3.34 is ok Radio is ok
I follow atool tuto step by step.
When i put the sd card in the mobile and open the bootloader, the 3color screen appears net the white screen but he disappear in the last second
Any suggestion?

Verify the filename or maybe it could be a sd problem (try with another one)

Don't flash with SD, use USB instead. My Kaiser refused to work with SD, but works perfect over 50 flashes later with USB. I am using Windows 7, I just plug the kaiser in and let windows detect that something is there. Then I download the update for WM device center or whatever they renamed activesync to since vista lol. Afterwards it will detect well enough. Once it does I use RUU custom and just flash it over usb with that Kaisimg file. Not a well written guide I know... I can at least send you my ruu custom if you need it.

thanks for help
I'm under XP. I install active sync but inpossible for my device to be connected on the pc.
I'm losing my head lol!

as per your screen shot. you phone is in boot loader already.. active sync only detects phone wen its running windows.. you dont need to sync your device with active sync when its already in boot loader.. just connect it with pc and run update utility of windows rom u want to have on your phone.. or update utility with android kernel to boot android in it.. your phone will be working in no time..

Yep Activesync will see something is there but it isnt a WM device basically. That is good enough to let RUU Custom work.

Thanks guys i'll try this in the minute!
EEdit: it won't work can you explain me more how to install android with RUU custom? pleéase

Format your SD Card in FAT 32
use HP USB Disk Storage format tool (find it somewhere over google)
Edit: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197
and make sure that the nbh is renamed as kaisimg.nbh.
For instance only put the nbh on your SD card (nothing else) and try flashing.
I am using HSPL 3.59 and its going good. (before that it was 3.34 and never caused any problems) Radio Version 1.70.19.09

Request from a Linux user - Flashing without MS Windows

HI everybody
Like other people on this forum, i'm a linux user
I'm working under Ubuntu Hardy Heron. It's impossible to run any RUU under this system using WINE ( Software than give the possibility to run windows apps under linux ) because it need an active sync connection witch also don't work.
So my request is the following: Can we have a ROM Update utility for our cheer Penguin ?
Big thanks to all developers that works so hard for our community
you and me both: i'm on Linux Mint 5, though
i don't think it's a problem of the people on here: i say it's microsoft's refusing to release drivers for activesync...
There have been attempts made, but i don't know if any of them are going to work with these newer devices... Try googling SynCE...
Hello penguin's friend
SynCE is hard to configure...
But the question is not about synchro, but for ROM updating.
Okay Microsoft is radin... But for upgrading we only need an USB connection for data transfer through the hard SPL.
Activesync is only necessary to retrieve informations from the PDA during an update procedure ( Rom version for example ).
But the flashing procedure doesn't require it ! the prove: when we lunch this procedure the active sync connection stops and the SPL appears on the PDA's screen.
Here is my idea to make it possible under Linux : Run manually SPL on the PDA, and start flashing directly (with USB connection only).
In fact, we only need a ROM Update Utility that pass-through device information retrieving step ( is it really important? ). May be it can works.
All of this could run with wine. But I still think that a native linux RUU is the best way to explore.
There still exist a linux RUU update program (I don't remeber where, but if you make a search into this forum you can find it).
The matter is another one...our diamond don't use the common way to establish a connection with the laptoop ( /ttyUSB0) and so, till now, it's impossible to update...we have to find a workaround for this issues...
I don't understand...
It's the SPL that give necessary connection (usb/serial). Is the problem from it ?
Exactly
Take a look: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410302
By searching, i found a solution by flashing from a SD card with a special SPL.
Its solution was developed for ARTHEMIS PDA here : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_SD_Card_Flashing
Do you think this SPL could work on our diamond ( we don't have SD Card but internal storage ).
I'm afraid to try it. My be it can crash my device permanently ...

GREAT ! i go take a look
Sers,
for Linux, HTC Flasher from the link in previous post is what you need.
It's working well for much HTC devices but Diamond still got some connection issues. It doesn't get attached to any serial port in SPL Mode, so flashing via Linux seems impossible.
Even flashing throught Virtualbox doesn't work because it's impossible to attach the device to the VM.
Maybe you're gonna find a solution, let's hope.

In this thread a guy manage to flash Diamond via USB.
OK I have the solution !
It's very simple and don't need any computer!
BE CAREFUL BEFORE STARTING TO HAVE GOOD BATTERY !!!
Install Olinex hard SPL
Connect your PDA to linux in USB Disk mode
Simply copy your .nbh file into internal memory in root folder. rename it to DIAMIMG.NBH
Reset your device with pressing volume down and right key.
You will enter in Olinex SPL flash mode. Wait two seconds and it will ask you if you want to flash from DIAMIMG.nbh !!!
Thanks everybody for your help.
I think this solution is the more simple !
Congrats! Nice find!
This will make things much easyer for many ppl!
regards
demacus
it's much faster than trought async... always used this trick, the only thing to REALLY pay attention to have at least 40/50% of battery
All Right !
Is the file still there afterwards?
Nice find.
Possible to choose from more files?

Well.....The file need that specific name.
You CAN transfer other files and name them, but you wont get a "menu" for choosing.

Man please read from instruction from the passage named HARD RESET, the button you are talking about its for software reset only!
Use the seq. Power+Camera+reset!Keep each button pushed and then use stillus for reset and you will get the Tricolor screen - but first format your SD like i describe in the post #2 and then copy your ROM on it!
exactly the same problem here. i tried to re install gelly_01 greek rom. The only requirement i did not follow was the connection with active sync. I am using Vista and the connection with the pc invokes the windows mobile device center. I tried to reinstall through a xp vmware with activesync but i get an error 270.
Any thoughts?
I am trying to find sth relevant.

Hard reset your phone first, then use the bootloader method(Camera+Power+Reset then in the bootloader connect the usb cable)!
First try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299659
If not - read carefully the instructions from here:
- http://trinityguides.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=39&Itemid=66 - all you have to know about hard SPL and how to do.
Anyway, also try to change the Rom image that you have used when you bricked your device!Try a new ROM by the date of release!
Thnx for the advice! I got it working. Before reading your reply I had started installing the original rom provided by htc (WM5). It installed correctly and at least i have my phone back. I will check your links about hard SPL (thanx ) but i had installed the gelly_01 rom before , not through vista though.
I will try to reinstall it.
It's getting late here so i will check it tommorow and infirm you.
Regards.
problem solved Its working now, but I dont know how i repair it
for unlock CID HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a.zip (Its not compatibile, but my opinion is it unlock but dont repair rom) then i give there [P3600i] HardSPL v1.1.rar and end is Trinity_WM_6.1_NEW.OS_19965_Diamond_edition_by_Akeo_V3.1.rar all files are in attachments.
I give there HTC_Trinity_SIM_CID_Unlock_v1.zip too, before Akeo Diamond edition.
This can be closed now. Thanks for all thank you ! Here are lot of good peoples really thx

Help-Artemis locked at startup screen

Hi,
I'm using Artemis with one of Tom's ROM. The device was working well. But today suddenly the device won't start up - it is locked at the startup screen showing the SPL, IPL etc. I can enter the bootloader.
Can anybody tell me how to flash the ROM at this stage?
Flash from bootloader
Hi!
Please download an official rom and keep pressed the Power and Record buttons. You will see a screen with 3 colors (red green blue). Connect the USB cable and wait for Activesync. After this start the original rom flasher and follow the instructions. If you can start the Windows, you should flash the USPL again and you can flash cooked roms. If you flashed a new one, i think you should also upgrade the radio rom.
Sorry for my English
well i'll give it a try.
BTW will activesync work if the phone is not booting up?
sure it will, but make sure you have the only phone pluged in, nothing else, and disable all firewalls and antivriuses.
Good luck
i flashed with htc official rom and it worked first. after soft resetting a few time (due to program installation) the phone again back to earlier state.
it is showing:
ipl 3.13.0001
spl 3.13.0000
gsm 2.94.90
os 3.13.0.0
and stuck at this screen.
i tried to update the phone again with the same rom - but i'm getting error 270.
do i need to unlock cid before flashing?
but i can't use the uspl tool as i can't connect to activesync.
pls help.
make sure the battery is fully charged again.
Restart your PC, isbale ll antivirus and firewalls
Better if flashing in XP PC
put PPC in Boating status
Flash Shipped ROM
Specify which software caused you the trouble and do not install it again
CID unlock PPC
Flash any cooked ROM.
once i flashed the phone with the shipped rom successfully. The phone was CID unlocked then. But now when I try to flash the shipped again i'm getting an error message (error 292 or something - stating-invalid vendor id)

chance are you have stuffed your bootloader...
start from scratch again by running uspl:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403
than flash your favorite rom again, ideally via sd-card-flashing:

USPL needs activesync running. Can you tell me how to run USPL when I can't boot into windows?
well,
its been some time, but i am pretty sure uspl puts your device into bootloader and operates from there...
have you tried setting it into bootloader, connecting via usb and simply starting uspl?
running a normal setup-routine, there is no need to start it from wm either-simply put it into bootloader and start setup!
greetz
Well i tried that. But it seems that USPL doesn't work without activesync.
i've also tried flashing with SD card, but after a brief "Checking SD card content" message the phone goes back to bootloader.
Someone helpppp pls.
are u sure your sd card is correctly configured, according to the wiki entry- especially part "if above fails" ...?
if all steps fail, assumed you performed them correctly, you might try taking out battery and leave the device fully without power overnight...and restart it the next morning
I've used a 512MB SD card - formatted it- and copied the OS file as ARTEIMG.nbh - put the sd card in the phone and started the phone in bootloader mode.
I think there is nothing more to do.
I can enter the bootloader, connect the phone to PC in USB mode. So, I hope that my phone is not bricked.
But how to revive it?
if you are in bootloader, i dont see why you shouldnt be able to flash!!!
try another sd-card, use another xp computer, exchange the usb cable...
yust to be certain: have you left out battery over-night?
...and what are the details stated on boot-loader screen (numbers)?
oh, and I get the feeling you are not working exactly as told:
in your PC right-click on Computer, then select Manage
Select Disk Manager and then delete existing partition
create a new partition with max size 256MB
format this partition in FAT32

...i dont have my micro-sd-card-adapter at hand atm., but there sure will be possibilities formatting your sd card accordingly...try administrative tools/computermanagement/storage/diskmanagement under xp, boot your pc with a diskpartitioner like acronis disk director...
i can only advise you to keep trying...but as long as you can not say for sure sd-card-flashing is working correctly, i wouldnt give up...
and as far as flshing bootloader via usb/activesync goes, i can only say i once screwed my device due to insufficiant battery power during sd-card-flashing and thought it was bricked just at the point you are stuck now!!! - totally resetting it with the power-oiut-method, i.e. battery out overnight, revived it!!!
than agin i sure as hell did everything the way it was ment o be done...and nothing worked until i switched to another pc/ usb-cable!!!
so, to sum it up, DONT GIVE UP!!! bootloader is showing...so there must be a way to get this to work...

How to upgrade ROm with nbh file

As newbie on this, anyone please guide me step by step to upgrade my P3300 rom with nbh file. My device is unlock already with current ROM 5.2.1908 (build 18125.0.4.2).
The procedure is given in almost every thread. It's simple really. Is your SPL version anything other than 1.11.0000 or 1.11.cmon? If yes then your phone is not unlocked. Unlock your phone by running USPL from here or the updated USPL from here.
Check if the USPL has worked by checking your SPL number. During phone booting at the white HTC screen your SPL should show either 1.11.0000 ir 1.11.cmon.
If it does you are free to flash any ROM. Get the ROM of your choice, put your phone into bootloader mode by pressing the voice record, power key and reset button simultaenously for about 5 seconds till you see a three colored screen. Attach it with USB and flash the rom using RUU.
thanks randythered for ur reply. I did w/o problem on USPL but how to use the nbh extention? where that nbh file I shall put in? pc or devise or on specific folder? I got the three colors already, then what next? pl. enlighted

do u have only .nbh file or along with .nbh file any other files are there ?
generally along with the .nbh file there are other files like romupdateutuility.exe etc.,
download those files also and save those files into your PC.
after unlocking your device then staup the device with bootloader mode (three color screen)
connect the Device with the PC by USB cable.
in the device display u will a word USB (left bottom corner)
run the Romupdateutility from the PC...
the process will guide u next steps ...
after the completion u will have new OS
Last I would recommend tht u also upgrade you Radio ROM (this is responsible for all the communication functions of ur phone i.e. calls, GPS, WiFi etc) which will enhance the communication capabilities.
Radio ROMs Link : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index..._RadioUpgrades.
Note : before flashing any ROM or upgrading the RADIO kindly CID unlock your device or you will end up the with bricked device .

As sixthsigma said, did you check if the phone is correctly unlocked? Is the SPL showing 1.11.0000 or 1.11.cmon?
Secondly, what OS are you flashing on? XP, Vista or Windows 7?
Hi Randythered, IPL 1.25.0001 and SPL 1.27.0000
I am using your ROM RtR Manila v1.0
using XP
Well, firstly thank you for wanting to try out my ROM
Secondly, you haven't unlocked your phone properly yet. The SPL must be 1.11.0000 or1.11.cmon, depending on which USPL you use.
strange... hv tried several time but w/o luck...
now I notice that it cut out after '70' and jump into 100 with disconnecting
any choices of other USPL instead of the one attached here?
Did you flash the old USPL or the new one which is nosize? It is preferable to install the old one first. And then go for the cmon nosize USPL if need be.
From a noob to a noob
Hi, heres the procedure for upgrading your rom put as noob friendly as i can put it.
WHAT YOU NEED
1. HTC Artemis p3300
2. computer running Windows XP with activesync installed
3. Usb cable to connect to computer
4. The new rom that you want to flash
5. And USPL which can be downloaded at this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403
NB: For most of the newer roms you will probably need the updated nosize version of uspl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521406
PREPARATION
NB: Anything you need to backup or keep from your device do it now.
NB: in some cases you may have to hard reset your device before it will take the flash
1. Extract Uspl to your desktop
2. Extract the rom you downloaded to your desktop
3. Remove your sim chip and memory card from your device
4. Reset your device and sync with windows xp
UPDATING
1. In the USPL folder run the program called "start_uspl" and let it do its thing in the dos window,in
my case it goes to 70 and then jumps to 100,if you have been watching your device screen you will
see the linux penguin for a few seconds and it will change to a white screen.
A window will popup on your computer, do as it requests, when finished it will reset your device.
Sync your device with your computer again.
2. In your downloaded rom folder you should find a file called "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" or "Ruu.exe", run
it and a window will popup, do as it requests.
Your device screen will go tri-color(red,green,blue) and the rom update will begin, wait till it
finishes and thats it.

finally I got it with removing the sim card and memory card prior to upgrading

Have you tried to flash another ROM to the phone and see if that gets it going again?
First of all thanks to you SuperSport and GRUPTNT for this
But for me, unfortunately, it doesn't works, i'm unable, when running Mtty116, to get the USB connection. I got Vista and i think it's the problem.
If somebody got an idea about it...

Please see this update.
Now, you can run MTTY in Windows Vista and Windows 7. I've made a Video Tutorial Showing how. It's Step 2b on this page:

my god, you worked late yesterday on this...
thanks for this and everything else, but again, i think that nothing is going to be easy for me...first, if i disconnect USB from mobile center, it's not in the computer management anymore...so i can't change the driver...next if i reconnect the USB connection, i can find it in the device manager but i can't change the driver because:
On my Vista home premium(32 bits operating system) : ''The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for 32-bit systems.
and on my Win7(X64 Home Premium): it's the same message except for X64
BTW, it's not the first time that i tried to flash EOM from your signature and i can't go all the way to the process...don't know why, it did stop before the end...but i got the splash screen

Ok, I think I forgot to mention one step. Before you disconnect WMDC, be sure your phone is in Bootloader Tri-Color Screen Mode. (Also, before flashing any ROM, be sure to be in Bootloader Tri-Color Screen Mode. [Power/Camera/Reset]) Your Computer will Still be able to see the Phone in Device Manager after WMDC is Disabled.
I don't believe this will work on 64bit Windows. I tried and stopped after a couple failures.
I'm sorry your WLAN is not working still. That's not good and we will do our best to get you back to WiFi.
Looking at the Video again this morning, it does appear to go sort of fast. Hit Pause when needed to read the text pop-ups.
Next thing is I believe you may be selecting the wrong option when you browse for the driver. Be sure you are selecting the option: "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". If you get a warning that the driver is not the correct driver, BUT you have the option to go ahead with the installation, go ahead and install it. It's a Windows XP Driver, so Win7 will not suggest installing it. But when it's all over, you will be removing it again and reinstalling the Win7 Driver.

That was FAST , good work! Happy to hear it worked for you.
Also, be sure to delete the XP driver from Device Manager, and re-scan the system to install the original driver. And then, re-activate your USB Connection in WMDC.

Did you use SSPL_TRIN.exe to enter Bootloader Mode before flashing? I think that is necessary for a full flash of OEM.

You would still need to use SSPL_TRIN.exe to put the phone into a special Bootloader Mode because the OEM ROMs overwrite the HardSPL on your phone. This special mode allows that to happen.
Copy SSPL_TRIN.exe & your TRINIMG.nbh to your phone's SD Card Root. From your phone's File Explorer program, browse to your SD Card and tap SSPL_TRIN.exe to run it. If asked, go ahead and say "Yes". This will enter a special Bootloader from which you can flash the OEM's.
Only use this method to flash Back to OEM ROMs and NOT for Normal Flashing. You want to use the HardSPL's Bootloader to flash Cooked ROMs to protect your phone.
Download SSPL_TRIN.exe
And, remember, after flashing an OEM ROM, be sure to flash a HardSPL back on your phone BEFORE Flashing Custom ROMs again.
Sorry everyone for getting off topic. kabtv, if you need more help with this, PM me, I'd be happy to help.

Hi,
I have moved to hd, so I didn't come to this forum since then...
I will try to explain a little better the HSPL and official roms.
First, there are several HSPL for trinity. The best one is olipro 1.30, so this th eone we want to get into the trinity.
First the theory, in a .nbh file we have several parts: ipl, radio, spl, splash,os,extrom In an official rom contains all parts, a custom ROM normaly nowdays contains os only. Whith older kitchens contains splash+os
The HSPL of olipro is protected so it is not overwrited by the roms. So it is safer, and you can't get a brick if you don't flash the ipl part.
The SPL is the tricolor program, so when flashing you should view the spl that you have in the trinity.
Whith the customruu of the trinity there is a file called enterbootloader.exe which is transmited to the pda and executed to display the spl. This file is SSPL_TRIN.exe renamed.
Ok, so this are the scenarios:
1) you launch the romupdate whith as/wmdc connected:
Enterbootloader is transmited and executed -> Special SPL 1.07
So when flashing you will flash every part of the nbh (all for oficial, os for custom)
2) you enter manually in boot loader
The SPL in your device -> olipro 1.30
So when flashing you will flash only (ipl, splash,os,ext)
The safer method is to put manually the bootloader mode and flash. You can have the HSPL whith an offical ROM whithout worries. Though there is an exception: you want to update the radio.
If you want to update the radio use method one so you run the other SPL.
