Can anyone think of a way that I can deploy an XAP?

What about a petition to get an android ROM from HTC ?

I am not very good at that but I am totally fed up with Windows Mobile 6.1...
HTC has all the code to put android on Diamond...
Whether they can create a great buzz by opening all the drivers code for Diamond, wether create the ROM themselves but :
LET US HAVE a quickly a stable (not tweacked) ANDROID on Diamonds !!!
Anyone to take the flag and move on ?
Cheers.
I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but I don't think HTC will have any interest at all to offer Android on any existing devices. There is simply no money in it.
HTC will want to use Android to market new devices.
That said, make a petition and I'll sign it. There are services for petitions availible on the internet.

Bye!
The biggest problem here is, that HTC has nothing to say about this. Rather try google

no need to try it , all app's on market place are secured (you can not sideload them)
I tried to load a netwerk app from samsung and it didn't work on my htc .
Yeh, the problem is that though theoretically you could load it, but the problem is it depends on native code that is tied to HTC phones.
Hi
i've made some test with Htc xap & i can deploy it successfully on my mozart
but when i try to launch it there is an error message telling "license invalid" please purchase the product.
if we found a way to install xml license file maybe htc apps can work on other device.

That's all good and fine, but if we replicate all dependencies of the HTC hub onto a Samsung I see no reason why this would not work (unless it's hardcoded to HTC HW GUIDs or course).
I'm gonna dig into this a bit when I receive my wife's LG next week. Would love to have the LG software on my Samsung
The emumator is x86, not ARM like real phones, so any app with native code won't work on the emulator.
You need to test it on your phone.

[XAP] Samsung Omnia 7 apps for All devices (updated)

Hi
Samsung Omnia Apps Unlocked for all devices!
UPDATE:
Samsung Now Hub V1.13.xap
Attached zip contain:
H3GHub.xap
NowHub.xap
MobileTVFinal.xap
MediaCenterFinal.xap
SFR.WiFi.xap
SFR.TV.xap
To use this apps:
Go to this webpage on your device http://s317073502.onlinehome.fr/b.a.s.e/XBMOD.CER
OR
install the attached certificate.
(like for chevron.cer by sending a mail to your device)
then deploy xap.
tested on HTC Trophy some apps need specific operator.
Thread related to this:
[APP] XAP_Dll_Signer 0.1 (unlock All Xap)
[XAP] HTC Test Tool
HTC HUB Custom Theme
NowHub works perfectly also on lg optimus 7 without the certificate
Tested the now hub, mobile tv, 3hub and the media center on the optimus 7.
It indeed does work without the cert. But only the now hub and the 3 hub are working perfectly. The other two have connection problems.
anything about htc hub?

When I removed the check, and got it to carry past that error, it just crashed. HTC seem to do some device-specific stuff, even where it's not necessary. For example, the youtube app won't work because it doesn't use the WP7 networking API, HTC have used their own driver for network communication.
htc uses their own EVERYTHING
oy vey htc ridiculous! so its either perform a rom transplant that ansar has done or no go
maybe not...if we knew the callback files couldn't we ideally add them to the xap? but would it mean that overwrite would cause instability to non native htc devices
lemme see if I can contact ansar he would probably know the dependencies needed for htc related devices re callbacks and use
What does SFR.WiFi.xap do? In Reflector it looks rather emtpy.
Btw I believe you could have just removed the signature rather than resign. There used to be a util called UnSigner but don't know if it still works.
Every time I sync with zune I have to reunlock my optimus 7 and have to reinstall the samsung apps cause after the sync they stop working.
Anybody found a solution to that yet?
I really like the now hub since there isn't anything like that on the E900 but if I have to install it few times a day I have to pass it.
Putting your phone in Flight Mode whilst syncing will stop it relocking. Not ideal, but it's the best we've got.
Better than nothing I guess.
Thanks!
Thank you!

Tried it, doesn't have any effect, though it does run without problem. I guess it's tied to HTC-specific hardware.

:/ pity, but thanks anyway for the info. I truly miss the SRS WOW HD from my Omnia Pro B7610, sounded really better than my O7 with Zune.
Maybe someday someone will come up with something

[HOW TO] Get any OEM's Apps direct from the Marketplace on your Phone

WARNING! If you change your OEM too many times you will break the DRM and have to reset your phone to download/use apps from the Marketplace. Use at your own risk.
Ok so I was playing around with my registry on my Focus and I found if I changed the following key:
Code:
HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\OemName
from SAMSUNG to either HTC or LG, in the Marketplace it changes from Samsung Zone to the other OEM's app repositories.
Also if you put in something like MICROSOFT it removes any OEM repository.
I also attempted to change the MOName from "AT&T Wireless" to "Microsoft" in order to get rid of AT&T's branding in the Marketplace but I couldn't get it to change. I think it might be linked to the SIM card. If anyone has any ideas please let me know as I hate with a passion carrier branding.
Valid OemName Strings (case sensitive):
SAMSUNG
HTC
LG
Works great with my Focus. Ive downloaded the HTC sound enhancer and works great so far. I also downloaded the Piano app on the LG store and it works perfectly as well.
Hi i'm new at this and i wanna know step by step how to change that registry key hope you could help me

For LG Optimus 7 users, a restart is required.
Now Zune finds the update 7392 for my Omnia 7. But I guess it's better to wait for the fixed Omnia Nodo, right?
hey guys, i cant find any location as "HKLM\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo\OemName"

When is now? After you changed it to HTC/LG? If you did, it's indeed better to wait for the official re-release.
Hello guys !
Im working with a HTC Mozart, T-Mobile GER Version 7932 with Chevron Unlock
With Julien Schapmans Registry Editor beta 1.1.0.0 i got the message "Acess to HKLM/System is restricted", and there is no "Platform" Folder inside.
I can find a "Platform" folder ind the HKLM Folder, but the acess is restricted too and there is just a "Default" string inside...
Any suggestions ?^^
Does indeed work fine on my LG Quantum but a lot of the HTC apps(Hub, Notes, Converter) would download but not run. The only ones I was able to run successfully were Attentive Phone and Sound Enhancer. Anyone else have better luck?

The registry editor you are using might not have full permissions to "view" like LG's MFG tool or Heathcliff's Root Tool's for the Samsung phones. But you should be able to "write" to any device using some tricks found here.

This is just me but I would NOT update while any of these values are changed, as the updates might be built for specific devices/OEM's and I would hate to see you brick your phone.

Some apps require OEM specific dll's and they will not run, and some do a check to make sure it is a valid device, this might be able to be fixed via some more registry tweaks.
@samsung users..
take this tool:
http://dotconn.de/main/news/homebrew-wp-root-tools-0-3-alpha/
Here are some XAP's to deploy provxml's to the device for those of you with an HTC device since we don't have access to that registry path. You can use schap's Advanced Config to provision the files once deployed.
Chrism583, do the two HTC apps you downloaded work on the LG? Wondering if they require specific hardware.
Just tried attentive phone and it wouldn't keep any of the checks/settings I set. I guess it doesn't work on the LG.
edit: just tried sound enhancer and same thing.

probably same as on LGs. these apps are hardware specific and either need extra registry settings or system files to work. or the specific calls to the hardware simply don't exist on our phones.
Thats it? ONE REGISTRY KEY??? Amazing!
oh, and Samsung focus (at&t), I downloaded the LG guitar learning app and it totally restarted my device... maybe it's just me. LG piano app works perfectly however not much else does. Oh, and changing your OEM to Dell doesn't give u dell app store (maybe we have someone with a DVP who has registry access and can check what their key says).

Actually DVP owners don't even need registry access. All we need is for them to go to 'Settings' -> 'About' -> 'Model: XXXX XXXX'
The 'Model' is actually two keys, the first set of X's are the 'OemName' key the second set are either the 'MODeviceName' or 'OEMDeviceName' key, I'm not sure which as both on mine read the same 'SGH-i917' however if I had to guess I would bet it's 'OEMDeviceName'
On a side note, does Dell even have an OEM repository?
Edit: I just tried 'NOKIA' for the fun of it... nothing. Wishful thinking

[Q] how I can install applications. XAP

how I can install applications. XAP my lumia 900 from the PC
You have to make your device developer-unlocked (by subscribing as a WP developer, which cost 99$ a year).
Unlocking your device in any other method (interop-unlock/full-unlock) is NOT possible at the moment, as no-one managed to break through Nokia's protection yet...
Application not available
you may need to update the phone software, the application is exclusive of another mobile operator or the application is not available in your region
this is what tells me if they know of anything that can help me I'll be thankful
I have a lumia 900 cyan, ebay unlocked code for claro Dominican
What? How are you trying to install this, and what are you trying to install?
Try to make your post clear, I can't guess what you're trying to do unless you tell me...

ok good... happens I am trying to install the application on nokia bluetooth shared through marketplace but will not let me, so I'm trying to install it from the pc out why the first question did clarify in another message that was trying to do... Ah, the BT Share app... For some strange reason, it doesn't work for me as well - and I too have a Lumia 900 (unlocked) with WP7.8.
I get the same error as you. I don't know why, but it 'thinks' you (and me) don't have a Nokia device - the BT Share app is Nokia exclusive.
I have no idea why it happens, sorry...
(Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't live in the US? Maybe the app is region-locked or something...)
