My LG E900 has a nasty bug in Zune, which makes me reboot the damn device every second day.
The sound either doesn't come of from it at all - no music is played - although all the notifications work,
or the sound becomes totally quiet.
Annoying!
hmm I never faced any issue personally with Zune except that lameass marketplace crash bug which also crashes Zune.
Looks like the game Pacman 7 causes these issues. I will look at other games too...

3rd party headphones ??
It's a known bug
I've never successfully repeated the bug myself, but I have been able to instruct others on repeating it and have heard of others having it.
I posted a concern the the App Hub forums and got back an acknowledgement that it is a bug. If a program changes the MediaPlayer volume that volume change persist even after the program has been closed. In many programs if you don't mute the game music or sound affects then you don't have to worry about this. One user reported being able to restore sound by going back into an offending title, re-enabling sound, and then exiting the game.
Application developers can work around the bug by simply saving and then restoring the MediaPlayer volume.

Anyone else having an issue with the HD7 and the email notification sounds?
When mine goes off, about half the time it sounds broken, like someone trying to run an MP3 on a 386..
I have installed the HTC sound enhancer and tried for audio No effects, Dolby and SRS, all have no effect.
Surely I cannot be alone with this.
My HD7 have this too. Not the biggest problem on Earth
happens on my Mozart as well if i have Vibration turned on ...
My lock sound had changed to sound like an error tone. Hard reset and went it back to normal, but I lost all my progress on games

This issue has been reported in the List of BUGS here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836373
It's indeed a known bug.
hmmm, don't have email alerts turned on so not sure. I know that all my other alerts sound fine though.
Maybe the sound file corrupted or maybe a bug. Might want to report it to the microsoft help forums.
hi all,
i would just like to ask if anybody has encountered sound clicks? this happens to me currently when my phone sounds beep (when sending msg on whatsapp and viber, refreshing msg on facebook) then I will hear sounds clicks like three or more clicks?
How can i fix this? please help.
my phone is not rooted and on stock jelly bean 4.1.1 with software number 3.14.401.31
please help.
Thank you so much.
I'm not sure what you exactly mean... Could you describe the "clicking" a bit more precisely?

Sorry for the confusion. the sound is like ticking. After I make a sound on my phone like sending message on viber and watsapp, there will be a ticking sound (maybe abount 3 or more ticks/clicks sound). the tick is intermittent. please help.
thanks,
I had this a lot when I first got my phone, it seemed to get fixed with the later ics roms I used but its returned since being on jb.

i never had this before on ICS. Only now on JB.
Might have something to do with the audiodriver, i recall a similar issue on one of the musicbox mods ....... the closing of the sounddriver caused small ticks like you descibed. As if it is getting a peak signal.

Hi, I experienced the same on my HOX some days after purchasing it last August. It was running ICS and in my case I had installed a Sound Equalizer app which in my case seems to have been the reason of the clicks. I wrote to the assistance service and thay suggested me to remove this crap and since then I had no clicks ever. If you have any Equalizer or Sound Booster app, I suggest you to remove them and give it a try without using them. I hope this can be helpful to someone and please excuse my english.
I don't see why everyone is worrying about this. The sound clicking you describe is more like a POP when a sound or music has ended.
Let me Explain why this happens:
The sound vibrations are immedietly stopped when the DAC mutes itself when it's no longer needed, this immediate stop for the vibration makes this POP noise. You can get these sounds in all types on electionic devices which can output sound, it's totally normal
You cannot stop these from happening permanently, but there is a way to reduce this. Turn off all sound-altering applications (EQs, Reverbs, Virtualizer, etc) this will cause the sound to vibrate less and thus reducing the loudness of that POP noise
I suggest you to never modify the speaker's audio as the POP noise might worry you (Much louder POP sounds) but there won't be any problem with the speaker
If you like to modify your audio, you will have to get used to that popping noise (like me) and it will sound normal to you in the future.
I hope this information was very helpful
Very ! Nice to see you here zero ! Still developing outside xda, i still have the link from your website but hasn't been there for a while
I think i found what makes this sound ticks. Its the equalizer app that I installed. I tried to turn off the app and the sound ticks were gone.
Thanks for all your responses.
Is anyone having a weird issue with the stock music player & stock earphones(on a non rooted M9),where the sound level starts going down by itself, then goes up a tiny bit after awhile?
I thought it might of been caused by an issue with Greenify installed, but after uninstalling it & rebooting the phone, the issue is still there.
I dont have any aftermarket earphones to test with,so im not sure if they are the issue or not?

That is weird. I've noticed a similar behavior when I play music using the Shuttle+ application. I thought it was some trick of my ears, as the volume only goes lower for a few seconds and by the time I reach to adjust the volume, it's already back. It's maybe a few decibels - noticeable without being a huge deal.
As for solutions, I have no idea. Maybe there's something installed that is doing strange things. I've got a lot of applications, maybe time to trim them down and see if uninstalling one of them makes a difference.

By design, playback volume "dims" momentarily when you receive a notification. Other than that, I don't experience any arbitrary lowering of volume.
I listen to audibooks when im ready for sleep, and my phone is on Airplane mode and not plugged into the charger,so that rules out notifications

Huh - I didn't know that. I think I need to pay attention to see if it happens around notifications only or other times.
So,it appears to be caused by HTC DLNA app,i unistalled it back to factory via Playstore, and the volume issue doesnt happen anymore

Hello xda,
Any time I receive a text or mail the notification sound starts low but quickly ramps up in volume. Is anyone experiencing this as well? Is there a way to set this so it's loud from the start? Hope that makes sense.
I appreciate your help and time
I noticed when the phone rings sounds only by the lower speaker, and sound very low and muffled.

Many others (including myself) have noticed and posted about this issue here (though not enough in my opinion). It's not restricted to notifications and ringtones either, it happens with *all* sounds on the phone.
Unfortunately, there is no way to fix it. Different sound drivers, updated firmware, build.prop settings... Nothing seems to get rid of this "speaker protection" crap. I am still hopeful to someday see a mod or firmware update that addresses it though, because after trying all those different things, I've run out of ideas.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I've also noticed that, it sounds fine when I preview notifications and ringtones, but when the phone actually rings it is a lot more quiet and muted. It does appear that the top speaker is not being used for ringtones. I'll try to call htc, let's see what they say.
Called HTC, spoke with a girl who sounded like she was following some sort of flowchart. Needless to say she couldn't help and concluded that it was a defective hardware. I tried to explain that others are having the same issue and it appears to be a bug, but I don't think she understood. They are sending me a new phone. I'm sure the new phone will have the same issue. Maybe if more people call HTC with this issue, they will figure it out.

Hi there
the same problem here, without any mod, crack o root solution. But the difference were the answer from HTC technical support: " this is a technical and engineering design, it´s not a bug", this mean: " f**** you costumer, and again, a new dissapoint from HTC. I has tried in several forums, here in XDA and another ones: nothing for to do, i loose my faith in the HTC 10. It´s very frustating because a little detail ( the ringtone volume and quality) destroy a overall experience

OH, so they know about it? This is a technical and engineering design fu**-up. My notifications are half the volume of the M8. If that is their answer, then I will probably return my phone.
Any solutions yet?
On mine it rings from the bottom speaker for about 3 rings, quiet, then ramps up and uses the top speaker too. With V4a on now once the top speaker kicks in it's very loud. It gives me a chance to answer it before it blasts me out.
I just bought a new htc 10 and quickly noticed this annoying sound fading in issue, searched online and this seems to be the only place talked about it with no solution, does everybody else really okay with this??
I guess at least it sounded fine when using headphone, but with this speaker fading crap everything sound like its echoing right now. This NEEDS to get solved.
Any solution ?
I came here to search for any ways to turn this "feature" off (and that's what it is, despite how nobody asked for it or wanted it). Looks like nobody has found any solutions. But here's my theory anyway:
The "fading in" volume effect must be a function of the Boom Sound software. It's a noise gate. And it sucks. For instance, try listening to any music that has any hard hits around any silence (a good example is "Brain Stew" by Green Day). It's really annoying.
I wish somebody could figure out how to disable the Boom Sound software altogether.
According to Google, https://www.google.com/search?newwi...0i22i30k1j33i22i29i30k1j33i21k1.0.leWX0kmgR6I it's a known Feature of Android 5, and many people complain about it, but there is no way to disable it.
Some people can workaround the issue, on some rom, with some apps or players; there is no universal solution.
In the best case, some chat app will not bell if they are already full screen; and this is an issue for me because if I have my phone plugged, and display timeout is 1h, then, it won't bell for incoming messages, and if I am >1m from it, I won't know people are talking to me. That's why I try to always make all apps always bell. But, if I am listening to music, the permanent bell that comes with intense chat may turn the music off all the time.
I not sure if I shall downgrade my phone to Android 4, 2.2, or 1.8 ...
.. arg, I am stupid, those versions have never been ported for my most recent phone.
All right once again I have ran into an issue I had can't find any solutions for on the internet. I don't know if anybody has experienced this before I have a very strange issue where if I set a timer the moment the timer goes off my phone just reboots every single time. I am rooted with magisk and I'm on the stock 8.1 ROM. If anybody has experienced this issue or has any guidance or even found any sources talking about it please let me know

Yep, having the same problem on stock, unrooted. Now that I know it's not just me I will contact razer to see if they know about this problem.
Should mention that this has only happened once for me so far, so not sure if it's the same issue as you have. But a log would be useful, to see if it's caused by you having magisk or something.
Which app are you guys setting the timer with? Using Google clock app my timer just goes off after the allotted time. I'm on stock 8.1, rooted with Magisk v17
Peace.

I used the stock Clock app myself, haven't really tried any others. I've been trying to reproduce it ever since, without much luck - so maybe it was just a one time thing. Strange that it happened to the both of us though.

I was also using the stock Clock app
However i downloaded the google clock app and yes it works perfectly I dont know what razer dod to their version to do this but anyway im fine with using google clock app instead, thanks! That at least fixes one of my problems. Now to fix my reminders not working lol
What causes this is the timer volume being 100%, even 99% will make this stop.
This happened to me, on stock unrooted I went into safeode and Uninstalled the app. If you can't uninstall it disable it.
I know what the issue is.

Okay, long story short, this exact thing happened with my Note 4, and my Note Pro 12.2. I know why it's happening.
The device is producing too loud of a sound.
I had ViPER4AndroidFX installed on both of them, and I had increased the output of the sound to the max via software.
This can't be a coincidence. So my conclusion is that if your Android device tries to output an extremely loud sound, it'll just shut itself off and/or reboot.
For example, I watch a dank meme earrape video that produces and extremely loud, dog whistle type sound, all of a sudden and in a single instance, it'll force a panic reboot.
The solution? Don't have an abnormally loud sound as an alarm or ringtone. Loud, high pitched sounds causes devices to do a panic reboot.
Default alarm sound is a high pitched, loud noise, and the meme I watched also was a loud noise.
There's no fix really. You found lower your overall sound output with Viper or not use extremely high pitched noises to prevent it, but that's all I can conclusively say.
Hope this helps.

Im aware of what your saying, but I'm just saying how can the problem be the volume and not the app when I left the volume max and changed the app and the new app with the exact same volume does not replicate the problem with the same max high pitched
volume?
