[Q] Swype on Desire Z NAM - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Excuse me if there is already a post on this but I searched several times with no success.
I just got my dz nam (switched from G2), and found that there is no swype on the phone. How can I get swype back?
Thanks

Please i m been reading alot ,i find that is not possible to root the update froyo 2.2, but from forums post from last month .i will like to know it there a new fix. please could someone help me with that.thank you
.......Smh
Hi eddyfalmaguer86,
From a sticky post in the EVO Q&A forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747495, which was last updated on 8/10 as of this post (8/21), it appears that there is "no known way to root a stock Froyo at this point."
This appears to be the inability to downgrade the 0.93.0000 HBoot which comes with stock Froyo, but my guess is that perhaps in a few more days or weeks, some brilliant guy will find a way.
Good luck.
Sorry to jack the thread, but in froyo release it said we are able to add and search unknown friend on friend stream. Anyone know how the hell?

If you read "in forums post from last month" that it was not able to be rooted, if you wanted to know if there has been any change from that, wouldn't you read "forums post from THIS month" to find out the latest news?
I think the admin should make a popup window when someone signs up, that says in huge fonts.. "Evo with version 2.2 already installed on stock phone or with OTA update, is NOT rootable at this time"
Click OK if you understand this.
When they click OK, it pops up again and say's the same message, but with "No, Do you REALLY Understand this"?
Click Ok if you REALLY Understand
Then a popup comes up and says "Ok, if you REALLY do understand, please type
"I understand Evo with version 2.2 already installed on stock phone or with OTA update, is NOT rootable at this time"
Once the person has successfully typed that in, registration advances

[Q] HTC Desire for Romania

Hello,
i have a HTC Desire. Until now its with a german Original ROM.
My problem is that i want to give it to someone in Romania. Now the language cant be set to romania and the keyboard not too.
Is there a ROM i could flash that it would be all like it is on a Romanian phone ?
The Root Access is gone too since i flashed the latest ROM.
I think i would need to make it to Root again too before i can flash it right ?
Hope someone can help me.
Thank you very much.
MoreLocale2. Download from Play Store. Never tried, but may works.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Hello,
i tried this app. It mostly translates the program names.
But the Keyboard can't set up to romanian and a few things are still in english.
I even would flash another rom if there would be the language included but didn't find any yet.
Thank you.

Do you want it as when you unboxed it?

Anyone has a solution for my problem ?
A ROM with Romanian speech or something else ?
Would be glad. Thank you.
Root your Desire and try Runnymede AIO v6.1.1. It supports Romanian both in UI and keyboard. Enjoy it!
Thank you.
There are different versions and some are not stable. Which Version did you mean ?
And its not possible to install some other speeches on my version now ?
Wanted to have a (almost) stock ROM with the language but it seems not to be possible because with more locale there is no keyboard and not everything translated.
Thank you and maybe we will find a solution

I had been using v6.1.1[beta] for 3 months and I couldn't find a weak spot. But if you want to be sure and to have no doubts, I recommend to you the stable version.
Here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315961
And another one if good performance/power consumption ratio is the rom from RSK Team

Choose the one which fits you.
[I've tried them both. Both of them have romanian support and that 'stock' look]

I got my old HTC ONE in Thailand and the keyboard it selects in the beginning (for Thai input) looks different.
I don't think it is HTC Sense. I laready installed a custom ROM, but if you like I can try to go back to Stock and check if I can extract the Keyboard.
If you are SOFF you can flash

I am confused about to restore the stock ROM. Even if I restore it, it doesn't have the thai keyboard in it. So how can it be extracted. I appreciate if you could get the thai keyboard extracted from your stock ROM..
Thanks a lot
Can you please check if you can extract the thai Keyboard?

You can search TWRP Backup file of HTC__044, This version is selling in Thailand so it should come with Thai Sense Input.
Then you root your phone, install root explorer apps like ES Explorer then navigate to /system/app and looking for HTC_IME.apk or similar apk
I cannot remember exact file name. If you don't know which apk, just copy the whole /system/app folder, zipped it and PM me (dropbox is good)
It may need to deodex the apk too since we use custom ROM that deodexed.
Thai keyboard
Can Anyone Send a ROM with Thai keyboard original(stock version HTC sense)

Can you make a zip just for the keyboard? That would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance my friend.

[Q] Galaxy Ace 2 original stock firmware problem

Hi guys...
I've used the search function on the forum and it has come up blank.. Not sure if i'm wording the problem correctly but couldn't find anything so that why as a last resort i've decided to post...
I gave my m8 my Galaxy Ace 2 and he updated it for me to the 4.1.2 Jellybean, and to be honest when I had the phone back off him it ran like a bag of crap..
I asked him to restore my phone to the official Gingerbread 2.3.6 but when I got it back off him the phone was in Russian.. I have managed to change the language to English but there are a lot of icons on the phone now that are still in Russian.
Can anyone tell me where to get the 2.3.6 Gingerbread BTU firmware from so I can get it flashed to how it was originally..
As I said I have searched on here and on Google and it comes up with links that are dead...
Any help would be great
Thanks all and look forward to hearing from you as soon as you can..
