Mini Howto
step 1 Unlock / install bootloader from

You must follow onscreen instructions very carefully as its very easy to miss something.
step 2
Install Alltel stock rom

Boot it up after flashing but do not align screen , if you miss that do not let customizations run.

Install my custom telus rom from

You did not follow instructions in step 2. Please repeat step 2 and step 3

I there anyway you could do up a rom that is identical to the rom released with the telus htc touches now but with the GPS support? Ie... still has HTC Home and the cube etc. I like the rom the way it is I just want the GPS support. I emailed Telus and they wouldnt give me an update on when they are releaseing there rom update.

I believe this rom has gps and rev A.

I am not a professional cook.
I like newest stock base with some programs added or removed. Everybody is cooking with wm6.1 that is designed for other devices. So i had to cook for myself. Whatever i cook, I just post it here so that somebody else with similar taste can use it.
BTW its not my first rom, i had cooked some for Titan, i just bought touch and cloned it with titan.

hey i would love to put this rom on my phone. i have never flashed my phone befor so i will be doing some reading. Any suggested threads for flashing my telus touch. also how do i find out my MDN and MSID? i just want gps why can't telus put out an official update now

Thank you verry much for this rom a1jatt i flashed it on my phone last night with no problem. theire is one thing i noticed that is a little annoying don't know if it's happening to you but the phone dialer keep popping up at random times when i close other applications. Apart from that so far it's better than the stock telus rom.

i have a question. I wondering if when telus comes out with the official rom upgrade will i be able to upgrade to it with no issues(assuming they are activating gps and have a 3.xx radio version) also will this re-lock my phone.

it was fixed but i never bothered to post because i did not see any interest.

There is some information on ppcgeeks.com .. you can flash back to .40 spl / unlocker and then flash oem rom, that will overwrite most of the stuff. but right now its advised not to do so but seems like they are working on it.
Even if telus comes with new ROM i think its best to keep it unlocked. I think its safer that way.

1-2 months. That said, GPS is NOT part of that update, nor are they ever going to add it.

Why not just cook one with the ppcgeeks kitchen?

nope, its signed. since they are sprint, youre fine.

Can the new Sprint Navigation CAB be taken from the ROM (after breaking it down in the kitchen) and installed on a custom ROM?

Kinda looks like there's a fix in telenav plus LiveSearch is pre-installed.
Well, since I don't care about telenav (do I?) and its easy to install LiveSearch (it seems to work great), I guess I don't need this new ROM, right ? (hoping to avoid feeling bad about installing the last one and sticking with it since it took a bit of work to get it "just right")...
Maybe someone can extract out just the files that changed so we can just add them to the previous ROM...

Does any one have a problem with during a texting session the black line that suggests words blocks messages half the time. You either have to exit out and go back in or start a new message to delete the last word you typed and then cancel out.
It has been like this on both of the roms and it is driving me nuts. I haven't changed any of the input Touch Keyboard options from the default either so other have got to be having some issues with this.
My Mogul on WM6.1 doesn't do this.

DCD where do i get latest dcd kitchen for VOGUE right now?

I have noticed with the 6.1 official ROMs for the Mogul and the Touch that when you receive a text message, you get no notification. Even after I set it with a sound, it goes away. Is there a problem with it?

I have been using a NFSfan rom on my bell vogue for a while, and it crapped out today for some reason. Rather than put another WM build on it, I wanted to change to Android.
I have looked through many pages in here, but I can't find a simple tutorial on switch from a custom WM build to a Android build. I prefer to use the NAND method so that I don't ever have to see WM again...
Can someone create or point me towards a step-by-step guide for installing Android? Keep in mind that I have absolutely no Android experience, and that my custom ROM is completely messed up, so would it make for sense to flash the a manf build and upgrade from there?

As far as WMP, Barogi will have to look into it since it is his rom.

I have a question:
I recently flashed the Bell rom with the latest radio (I couldn't get the radio only nbh to apply properly), and then subsequently flashed with the latest NagROM rom (which is awesome btw).
Now of course, at startup i have the nice HTC screen with the rom version etc, followed by an AWFUL blue BELL screen (and then the nice orange wm6.5 screen).
Is it possible to change the blue BELL screen? And if so how?

There was a cab to change that somewhere around here in this section of the forum. Alternatively, you can flash NFSFan's rom (which will get rid of it), or you can try mine as well and then reflash Nag's rom.

i just flash my vogue with the latest NFSFAN rom. can someone tell me the setting to get my gps to work? whenever i start googlemap it keeps on trying to connect through the data connection. (i did do that one step that NFSFAN asked for the gps dL that verizon cab)

Why did you change the E$N? Where you using the device in a different carrier?
Back to your problem. Your EPST settings should survive a hard reset as those are parameters that are not stored in Windows (afaik). It really makes not difference which rom you are using (at least for Voice and SMS).
Lets focus on your main phone's capabilities first. If your EPST settings truly got lost, you will need to get them from Verizon again. The main ones are the MSD and MIN. Make sure that you write them down this time as you will need them again if they go bye bye.
As for your internet, you will probably need to set the correct username in the phone's programming as well (also info that you will need from Verizon, but it should be something like [email protected] or something like that)
Do that and let me know if this works. They will have to program this for you this time, but once you have the values that I mentioned before, you will be able to do it yourself.

Try to get Barogi's latest "lite" rom. Also, you can't go wrong with vin's 28014 or NFSFan's rom. I would recommend mine, but I think they might be a little heavy for what you want. Good luck.

i checked out NSFSfan. It was nice, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much for what I want. Ill check out the other you suggested before i just flash back to stock rom

Try to avoid stock if you can... it has a bad tendency of being too heavy on the extra apps.

I checked out just SS's of both. Both look awesome, but theres something about the simple look ( or im just used to it since my 8125 ) of the stock look. I would like to have the look but the added memory of a cooked rom.
With NSFSfans, could you remove the today screen plug ins to get back to a more stock look?
Im runnin 2.1 android eclair at the moment, and im barley pulling a full day battery with no data/bluetooth. With the old winmo, I was getting 2.5 days-3days. Thats another main concern for me.

I am currently using DXJM4 version, but go through Kies, no updates available. Very weired.

decrypt code, you can see above. try to look at it again.
anyway after I use Odin to flash,it can't update via kies anymore. normally kies firmware will roll up after fus in a few day or longer.

We need Roto to makes his version of this...im sure he will soon.

IF YOUR BOOT IS STILL UNSIGNED , DO NOT FLASH SBL AND BOOT FROM THIS ROM.
It is very solid build. very smooth and browser seems to be smoother, scrolls better even when pages are still loading.
No extra apps.
Unlike KA build , kernel is signed so it can loaded if u have signed bootloader (jm*)
Very few locales, just english uk, english na and some asian.
You can repack it without sbl and boot files and flash on the top of the signed roms.

I'd like to. I have family events to attend to tomorrow, but if someone would post an unencoded firmware for download, Ill grab it and apply all the JME mods to it. In the meantime, feed back on KM2's quality is valuable. I'd hate to waste time on it just to go back to JME

Understandable....samfirmware release a bunch...all at the same time. JMF also release...so i would say it is the same as KM2 but for europe!
I have been trying to download it from samfirmware and decode it...but the site is not working.

Guys...I just downloaded JMF and unless you can understand Russian - You cannot get back.
The moment the phone boots, it's all Russian (or greek, or something!)
I was listed under the EURO rom, i DOwnloaded and Odin it..... but I cannot get the language to go English.
I tried to go to Locale to change it to English - but Have no idea where I am.
I tried to flash JME back, but the tab still boots up in Russian.
How can I get it back to JME?
Out of frustration I flashed the JME pit file, but not difference, still Russian.

KM2 only includes english (UK, US), Bahasa (Indonesia, Malaysia) Ting Viet and other asian locales

Pretty sure they havent announced it yet, they said they were goin to show it off in MWC, probably wont be released by may-june, by then we will have cyanogen mod honey comb on this thing

and I think decrypt and unzip,it's less than 5 minutes for me. or someone can help for this.
anyway, you should wait for .apk unprotect signed from roto/chainfire and flash other firmware that isn't signed.

Thanks, I will sure to download and upgrade my current DXJM4.

I downloaded firmware and it's .ecn. I can't rename file type to .zip. What can I do with it?

Samfirmware.com has this version without encrypted code.
Anyway, how could we flash this firmware without boot.bin, Sbl.bin, zImage.

Why is everyone depending on Rotohammer? Open it up with 7zip or similar, delete the offending stuff (sbl, boot, zImage) ...whatever and then flash it. Simple.

Flashing file with the wanted input method

Is it possible to flash the input method that I wanted (e.g. Chinese input) from a Chinese enabled firmware (e.g. ZAKA1) to the JL2 firmware?

Euhmmm as far as i understand you want chinese text and input on for example JL2. Well I'm not 100% sure. You could try flashing chinese CSC (make sure the versions are the same.. flasing a 1.0.2 CSC on 1.2 won't do a great job) to the JL2 firmware.. if that doesnt work out good you can always flash back to your origional FW but as far as I know the latest one (XXKF2) supports chinese INPUT (not sure about screen text) but i can select it

So the input method lays inside the CSC file? Let me try to flash the one from KF2 or from other 1.2 and report later

If you read my entire post .
I said you could aslo try flashing the normal XXKF1 First.. Because it already has chinese input.

I've tried to flash the CSC file from DXKE1 but the input methods were still from XXJL2.
But itsn't the XXKF1 for Europe? Surprise it contains chinese input.... anyway, downloading it from samfirmware.com
