[Q] Files transfert between two EVO with WIMAX - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All!
I cant find any answer about this issue.
Is it possible to transfert files between two EVO through Wimax, without been linked to any infrastructure point?
I read many posts where it was written that the EVO enables ad-hoc dialog, but i saw nowhere apps to do that.
I should mentioned that i havent any EVO yet...
Thx for your answer!

You could set up an FTP server on your phone and then use tools like ES File Explorer to browse and transfer files from the client.

Exploring my files from Shared Folder on my my windows PC

Hey guys, does anyone know if there is an app for the android phones where i can access my shared folders from my windows desktop ??? (the folders which are shared using the right click method in windows xp pro specific)
i can make them accessible through ftp but i use sharing with my laptop and i want to use it with my phone if possible!!!
Estrongs file explorer does windows shares/ftp/bluetooth browsing and streaming. Its free
hmm nice one, i found it on cyrket but it seems that avi files cannot be opened yet but good one...i won't be watching movies over my pc any way cause of the slow connection. thanks vman81
Are you asking for the ability not only to share the files but to stream media files from device to PC?
I love Dropbox! Super easy and you can access your files from your Android device or ANY computer.
Ehm, EStrong File Explorer is very interesting ... Anyone is using it?

If yes, do you think that we still need to have ASTRO? Because I read ASTRO is a very good file manager and app manager, but it does not support this kind of network access (browsing shared folder).
And I dont like to keep 2 similar apps, if you know what I meant.
Thanks

I think ASTRO is mostly for doing stuff like installing apps you have downloaded on your computer, though I dunno whether the other mentioned file explorers give you the possibility to do that as well.

In the other hand, you can just install an other application manager if you don't want 2 file managers

It's a file browser, they're not really going to be that different. So the answer is no, if you want to use the EStrong one you wont need to have Astro installed too.
Try AndroXplorer v.3!

Syncing SD <> PC over wifi

What the best way people have found to sync files to the phone over wifi.
I hate having to unmount the card each time. and now that I have 2.2 and installed apps on it, it's even more annoying
the only way I have found is to set up an ftp server
is there any apps that can view windows shared folders?
or, any dedicated syncing apps?
Estrongs file manager can access windows shares over wifi.
Its easy turn use and the one best file managers in my opinion.

[Q] Android Manager WiFi Question

Have installed Android Manager Wifi without difficulty on both my SGS (Rooted & Froyo'd) and my PC. I am able to transfer files or blocks of files. However, I can't see an obvious way of transferring whole folder structures (i.e. my music directory off the PC). It would seem like I have to do it an album at a time, and manually create suitably named folders for the files to drop into.
Has anyone got any ideas if I am simply doing something wrong, or if there is a work around.
Many thanks, Phil

[Q] How to access PC via WiFi

Hi,
I found multiply apps and tutorials how to acces android mobile from pc via wifi, but found nothing about how to access shared folders of PC (windows 7) from my desire. Is there any app that can do this?
I heard about a program called homepipe for android. But never tried it myself.

I tried homepipe and it works but in free version you have only 10 transfers per month, unlimited is paid and this works through internet (files are accessable everywhere, where is internet connection)...it uploads (using homepipe program in windows 7) files from pc to internet account and dowloads it to phone(using phone app). What is more transfer is very slow.
I am looking for something that is working directly between phone and computer in home wifi network (access is possible only at home, when connected to wifi network)
I see.
I've found these btw:
ES File Explorer
Teamviewer

well I just configurate firewall and everything works properly

[Q] How to transfer files?

Hello, i was wondering how to transfer files on Two android devices, via WIFI tether example two devices have Wi-Fi On and how they can transfer files between send/receive?
Is there any application like this or something..?
thanks in advance
Try Bump or Hoccer, they both send the files via internet. If you want a local solution, set up ftp on one and access it from the other with any capable file manger (i.e. ES File Explorer).
