Hi,
I have been using my Galaxy Nexus for a couple weeks now without problems, but today I was havinbg porblems with signal being lost. I switched it to airplane mode, then switched it back to normal, but it would not switch back. This happened once before, and was fixed by rebooting.
however this time after rebooting, my homescreen and fonts are messed up. The widgets and icons/folders on the homescreen either have garbled fonts, or the text is missing entirely. Same thing for the icons in the app drawer.
The text within apps, such as SMS, browser, contacts, etc, are all fine.
I have rebooted a couple of times but it hasn't made a difference.
Also a file download from gmail seems to be stuck, it's still trying to download after 2 reboots, but there has been no progress...
I know I'm throwing in a few different issues at the same time, but maybe they're related, maybe they're not...
Is there anything else I can try?
My phone is running stock 4.0.1, it was purchased in UK and on O2 network. It is not unlocked or rooted in any way, and I have not recently installed any apps that might cause such problems.
Only thing I can think of referring to you to try is a "Factory Restore".
Mind you, that means it wipes everything, apps, SMS, etc (not gmail/calendar stuff tho).
Other than that, I haven't heard or have read about this problem occurring - so apart from that, I dont know what else I can suggest you try - sorry!
Thanks. That's what I feared...
I was going to try to unlock bootloader to root, so was gonna wipe my device anyway, but I wanted to wait until after the holidays season in case something goes wrong...
I will probably take it into the O2 store this afternoon to see if they have any idea
I wish I hadn't spent so much time configuring my widgets Gonna have to do it all over again
Thats where all the fun lies
Dude, don't wipe it yet!
I had the same issue after my phone died while charging and I had to pull the battery. Fonts where distorted and further reboots didn't help.. BUT:
I changed the font size from small to normal, which immediately fixed the widgets. App drawer was still messed up, but after a reboot it was fixed as well. After that, switching back to small fonts works as well!
I just started having the same issue too... and since I was setting it up I'm not sure which of the 92 apps I installed may be affecting it lol.
I can say that changing the font size only temporarily fixes the issue, and then the fonts get garbled/go black/go completely missing again.
Perhaps a font reinstall would work, and if so could someone make it into a flashable zip or provide instructions on how one would do that?
Thanks

OK, so it appears that the issue is a charging/heating issue.
I've allowed my phone to drain to 20-15% and then fully charged it the last few days to improve the battery life. The garbled font issue seems to show a few mins after the phone is plugged into the charger that came with it and the phone starts to feel warm to the touch.
The issue seems to continue until the phone has had a chance to cool down a bit (I'm guessing it's more specifically the GPU as it looks similar to an issue caused by overheating GPU in a PC).
Another thing I have noticed is that the charge went from 24% to 50% after rebooting and only being on the charger a few mins.
I'm going to charge it to 100% with the phone off and then erase the battery info using CWM and see if it'll fix that issue at least.
As for the garbled font problem I will continue to watch it, but if it doesn't clear up I may have to exchange this one at the store (although I'm not at all interested in the hassle of that option).
Please share if anyone else notices this!

This still happens even if I'm fully recharged it seems the battery isn't my problem. I'm using a Verizon Galaxy Nexus running 4.0.2 stock; I recently started to use minimalistic text and also installed Simple Calendar and Widgetsoid to customize my phone. When I was finally happy with my customizations whenever I would restart my phone this would happen

The text would be garbled and the text under applications would be black (and a bit blurry) instead of white. The only way I know how to fix this is to turn my phone off, pull the battery, and restart it. But if I restart it again after the 'fix' restart the text goes crazy again. Has anyone had this happen after using minimalistic text? Is there a permanent fix? Thanks
No fix for this issue? Could it b tm the extended battery?

garbled fonts
My nexus kept doing that, I finally went into settings, aps, all-selected launcher and hit clear data. Had to redo all my widgets on my screens but hasn't sone it since! Just got Jellybean this morning! Hopefully won't happen again.
Is anyone else having problems with the Connections Optimizer?
For the first two weeks I had the phone, I didn't even know it existed. (I never activated it, nor deactivated it.) Now, the last two days, all day, throughout the day it keeps popping up wanting me to do something, and it's always at the worst time. I first noticed it when I was driving as it kept popping up blocking my nav app, making it dangerous for me to deal with it while driving. Then as I went through my day sending texts, FB, and taking photos, it just kept popping up throughout the day, just barging into whatever I was doing. There's no reason it should pop up when I'm just trying to take a photo.
So, are others having a similar problem? Will it cause any problems if I deactivate it?
Thanks.

I'd love to know as well. I turned it off and it just keeps turning itself back on - it did it all day today as well.
And not just the optimizer, but I wish the WiFi would stay off until I manually turn it on - I find myself turning it off all day long as well.
The WiFi optimizer is basically an app that turns your WiFi on and if your around WiFi that you have connected to or one of sprints partners WiFi it will connect to it. I just turned it off. I don't know what pop up your dealing with. Mine never did a pop up

Hello All,
Got the htc10 about a week ago and love it so far but have found one annoying issue and I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this.
First off I should note that I am running stock T-Mobile. No root or unlocked bootloader.
The screen seems to become completely unresponsive to touch after turning off the screen then back on and immediately going to messenger to send a text. Capasitive buttons still work and the screen isn't frozen as it will open into app switcher.
So far this only seems to happen when going into messenger and right after the screen has been turned back on. It doesn't cut out while using it and it doesn't happen everytime. The screen works just fine after turning it off then back on again.
Any info or help would be great. Just trying to figure out if this is a software or hardware issue.
Thanks
I've had this happen with messenger(fb) as well. I seem to only have this issue if I unlock my phone straight into the app or double tap the notification from the lock screen. Im pretty sure this isn't a hardware issue, I haven't experienced this any other time on any other app.
It appears you are right. I have been testing it a bit and it only seems to happen when the notification on the lock screen is used to open the app.
Hopefully this is a simple bug that is fixed soon as it is quite annoying.
I have the same issue. Also happening in Textra SMS, so it's not a Messenger issue atleast. What kind of keyboards do you guys use?
Any fix?

Same thing here and used to happen on my m8 too. Mainky happens when I open the WhatsApp app directly from the unlock screen. Capacitive buttons work fine but can't type or touch the screen. Also notice the notification bar is blank. Until I lock and unlock the phone again.

YES!!!finally a thread with the same issue. i have the htc10 with the finger print unlock and there is a strange glitch that when the screen times out and i unlock with my thumbprint it unlocks the phone and goes to my home screen but the touch screen remains unresponsive. i can use the soft touch home and back buttons but not the screen. drives me crazy. i have to force restart my phone and it will work until the screen times out... and then i am back to restarting.... about a dozen times a day. sometimes i cant answer calls until after i restart the phone... is there any way to fix this?
This is happening to me very often since a few days ago.
Rebooting the phone solves the issue most of the time, how did you fix this?
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem.
Having same issues on htc 10 lifestyle. Still looking for any permanent solution. Reboot helps, but only for a few hours.
Hey guys, wish I could offer a solution but just like to say that this has been happening to me for months and it's awful.
Need to turn the screen on and off again multiple times till it responds.
I've had the Huawei for about 7 months now, and it has been absolutely rock solid on it's bluetooth connection to the phone. The last 2 or 3 days it has been losing connection and requesting to pair again about 10 times an hour which is rendering it unusable.
I've tried a factory reset on the watch, but it doesn't seem to resolve the problem. I'm running stock AW 1.5.0.2954763 and stock Android 6.0.1 on my Xperia Z5. Tried googling around but no-one seems to have the same problem. If anyone can suggest a fix I would be most grateful as I love my Huawei! Next move is to try a factory reset on phone and watch together and see if that works I guess but I'm reluctant as it means setting up banking apps yet again (the bank thinks I've had 5 new phones in the last 3 months!!!)
thanks
I wish someone would chime in. I'm having the same thing z5 too. Maybe 1 time a day or every other day..... Some days it's 4 or 5 times a day......I've reset also. I didn't clear the cache in the phone though.....,
I'm having an issue that I believe I've narrowed it down to the watch. My phone's Bluetooth keeps turning off and on (cycling). I have the N6 and have factory reset it, unrooted, locked bootloader back, etc. Rerooted, after all that. Ran fine for a few days before I paired the watch. Same day I paired the watch, it started again. Leading me to believe it is somehow my watch. This is very annoying because I use Bluetooth for music everyday in my car and at work.

Same problem for me with my xperia Z5C android 6.0
Started with my Sony SW2, I have the watch since about 3 years and it is the first time that the watch lost pairing. I changed the phone for the SW2 and put on my Galaxy S4 and no issue.
My Zenwatch 2 also lost the pairing code when used wit my xperia Z5C, changed and paired with my S4 and no issue.
So there are a real issue with the Z5 and android 6. No issue with my SW2 before Z5 updated to 6.0
My Sony SW3 have no issue with my xperia Z5.
xperia Z5 was kown to have BT problem with android 5.
When I was with android 5 I often had lost connections bt. So Sony has a lot of issue with his bt
i am having almost same issue. cant sync my huawei watch with huawei mate 7 . really surprising. bluetooth is continuously showing disconnection ..
I've managed to solve the problem by disabling phone call on the watch. It's a shame to lose the functionality, but it seems that the phone can't handle being connected to 2 different cars and a watch and work out which to use for what. When I got out the car it was still thoroughly confused and couldn't get it's pairing sorted no matter what.
Disconnected the watch and reset, then made sure that phone audio was not allowed on watch when I re-paired. Not had any problem since.
Probably something that Sony need to sort out with bluetooth that rendered the watch unusable
Seems my watch is having this issue as well. I didn't notice it until about an hour ago when I enabled it to notify me when it disconnects from my phone and twice in about 30 minutes i got notifications it had disconnected and I'm only 5 ft away from my phone. I do have a Bluetooth headset connected to my phone and noticed another person saying they believe having another Bluetooth device was causing this issue for them. I just disabled the notification for now because it's only dropping connection for a few seconds and comes right back so it's not really effecting me using the watch. Hopefully someone can figure out whats going on. I just got mine off Amazon so if the issue persists I'll just return it for another. I got 27 more days to see how it goes.
My setup: Negalite Huawei-Rom NX 1.7 w/ His 7/14/16 released Kernel
My phone: VS990/LG V10 fully stock 6.0.1 (no developement :'(',',', so sad)
The same problem here.
I have my Huawei for months with my old OnePlus 2 (oxygens on Android 5) and all work well. I arrived a couple of weeks my new OnePlus 3 (oxygens on android 6) made and the problems started. Randomly Huawei disconnects and calls the pairing code. This happens several times a day. I've done a thousand tests, restores watch and the phone and nothing seems to work.
EDIT: Confirming that the problem occurs when you have enabled the Audio options on both, the phone and the smartwatch.
This is a great loss of skills that Huawei.
This must be some fix
Please help
I had a Huawei watch for christmas and I have this problem, the watch loses pairing 5 or 6 times a day.
I'm using it with a stock xperia z5 premium dual. I don't use any battey saver or stamina, and I removed all the bluetooth devices paired with my phone but nothing worked.
For the user who had the same problem with sony SW2: I used it for 3 years since one week ago and never had this problem, the connection was perfect with no issue. When swapping to Huawei Watch the pain started.
I waited so long to swap to android wear to avoid beta testing but looks like it's too early. Now I have 300 euro less on my bank account and a smartwatch that works as ****. Thanks google.
EDITED: No solution
EDIT: after a while the watch lost pairing again, no solution yet. After pairing back I have the watch icon in the list.
I'm doing a lot of tests these days and maybe I found something about this problem.
1) I erased all the bluetooth devices paired to the phone
2) I went to"settings" -> "apps" (click "Show system" in options menu) and stopped "bluetooth share": after that I erased all the data of the app.
3) Paired the watch again
After that in bluetooth devices list I have this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
You see the icon of the watch now is like a headset.
No more pairing loss since then (one day ago) and everything seems working good.
EDIT: after a while the watch lost pairing again, no solution yet. After pairing back I have the watch icon in the list.
i had the same problem and it worked for me. Thanks

I edited my post because the problem came back.
So still the only working solution /workaround is to disable play phone audio on with in watch bluetooth menu?! ?

Mine rarely did this before Android Wear 2.0 update. Now it does it at least twice a day. It's really getting annoying.
I've NEVER had this issue since running Negalite ROM (NVF41U Wear 2.0 based rom), as soon as I let the official one take over my watch it's been disconnecting every day since then.
Thinking of "downgrading" to his rom as it runs faster, smoother, uses less battery and bluetooth works perfectly.
I've noticed that if I walk away from my phone and the watch and phone disconnect, my phone looses the pairing. I have an axon 7 with Lineage OS.

Same here, also ZTE Axon 7 on latest LOS + Huawei Watch on AW2.0. Maybe it's an issue with our phones or LOS?
I have the Axon 7 running stock (7.1.1) and a Asus Zenwatch 2. It's driving me crazy. It only started within the last week or so.
Is there a workaround or a way to fix this problem? It's getting really annoying to repair the watch with phone every day.
I've been having this problem as well now with Huawei watch on aw 2.0 and axon 7 running stock Nougat. Every time my phone and watch are separated it loses Bluetooth pairing and requires reconfirming on both devices. I am not using the BT audio on watch feature.

Does this happen for anyone else? On my S22, not all of the time but sometimes, when I leave an app, go to recents, go home, etc, a tap sometimes won't register immediately, or maybe for .5 to 1 second. I have show taps enabled and I can see the taps happening, so the phone and touch screen are both aware of the tap, but they still don't do anything for a bit.
I think it's an issue related to One UI Home (Launcher) and its animations. They should definitely improve it and squash those annoying bugs.

Diaable all animations. Not needed.
There should be no delay. A second is an eternity. Is it running warm or hot when near idle?
Try clearing the system cache.
Try in safe mode. You may have a buggy 3rd party app.
Did you do any major firmware upgrades without a factory reset afterwards? If so... get reloading.
Do not use SmartSwitch.

For me, it's been this way since I got the phone, the animations definitely seem to cause most of the issues after turning them off, but some of my taps still dont register. It's significantly more rare with animations turned off but it's still there. Unless it's just normal for some taps not to register every now and then, but I never had this issue on my galaxy s9.
While typing in another app (chrome), I just tried going to my home screen and tapping a different app immediately, it didn't register it on the first try. I don't double tap so I'm not sure how long it takes to stop. It's rare but certainly still there.
I'm curious if anyone else here tries, even with animations off, if they would experience the same issue occasionally (I had my keyboard up and I was typing). While in one app, type or do something for a bit, and then hit home, and tried tapping another app immediately. For context, I am tapping it RIGHT as the screen switches to home. I know I'm not tapping it too fast or anything because my taps register more often than not doing the same thing.
Trying in safe mode is difficult as it seems the issue doesn't present itself immediately, even in normal mode, after a fresh boot. I also tried safe mode with my internet enabled and didn't experience the issue, but I'm still not experiencing it (in normal mode) right now at all. It's important to mention that I've experienced certain hiccups like this since I first got the phone, before I installed any third party apps. Most of the bloatware apps I have uninstalled. The only thing I can think of, that was available then and still available now, are apps like google drive, samsung notes, etc.

I have everything off other than auto disable apps, it's instead listed as automatically put apps to sleep, is that the same thing?
I'd rather not factory reset, but I don't think it's malware if I got this phone factory fresh and it had the issues then too.
Considering it seems to get worse the longer the phone is on, I suppose a mother board issue would make sense. At least it hasn't progressively gotten worse altogether since I got the phone a year ago.
