Better to do a Nandroid backup and see the size of system.img.
I think they havent given the MD5 of pb99img on the site. I dont use that method at all. U could use the "fastboot flash "method. The MD5 of the img is given

Thanks! I just did it via the flashboot method as you suggested, does it look right to you? I wont reboot my phone until you say so
I read somewhere that it can take up to one hour sometimes?

An hour for what? That's for the initial S-OFF process. Your fastboot is done..It takes only milliseconds..It should be ok..If the configuration isnt adequate, you might get Force closes. In that case, reflash stock and restore nandroid.

If you used unrevoked 3 then get the unrevoked forever son zip from there site.
Do you already have your stock RUU zip?
or a PC36IMG.ZIP of it.
You can do it from your phone. Abit more complicated.
I'm having the same problem with the micro usb port apparently its a defect so im trying to unroot to
Thanks for the response reaper!!! ok so if i put the PC36IMG.ZIP on my sd card and flash like normal will that unroot my phone?

Yes but flash the s-on unrevoked forever zip through revovery first if you have s-off in your hboot. Sometimes you have to do it a few times for it to work. Then run the stock pc36img.zip in hboot and you should be set. There's a whole walkthrough on here from djr3z by the way.

Place unrevoked forever son on your sd along with the PC36IMG.ZIP. You flash Unrevoked forever son first turn phone off boot into hboot and it will boot the zip for you and your back to stock man.
If you found the stock RUU file and its a exe you will have to run it with hboot running in usb I believe. The program will tell you when you run it.

Re-download the RUU, your copy is probably corrupted.
(and there is no need to open a new thread every minute you have an issue, there are a lot of threads explaining how to install a RUU)
no i tryed re-downloading again and even on a diffrent computer for them to still be the same! seems none of them work...

Right click the RUU and click Run As Administrator. If that still doesn't work then I would suggest it's something wrong with your computer.

It has the .exe extension, right?
I had the same problem its probably beacuse the extension isnt .exe
Mine was 'XXXXXXXXX_RUU_XxXX.exe' with the apostrophes, hence, the extension became .exe' instead of .exe
That should help
Hit the thanks button if i helped

well that doesn't look good. can you boot to the ouya launcher or are you stuck there?
if you can boot normally i would suggest doing it your self instead of using the toolbox. its not really that hard and it gives you a better understanding of whats going on for later down the road.

manually, the gist of it is use adb to move a file, then use adb to fastboot an image. you may have better luck.
works better doing a manual installation thanks
Alright! thats what i like to hear! good job brother. keep up the good work.
I have the same problem I did all the process manually and I see the same buggy menu :s what am i doing wrong?

try redownloading the CWM zip and be sure to check the md5sum, then do it manually. follow the instructions in the write up exactly.
the key is here to fastboot CWM.img first, then flash CWM.zip. notice the different file extensions! you may have flashed the .img
give it a shot and fill us in.

yes i know i put the zip on sdcard and i boot the img from my laptop ( I installed fastboot drivers on windows 8 )
I got a black screen in bootloadfer mode and I execute the img file from my laptop and I got the purple screen too
I will verify the checksums again tonight but in the tutorial i did not see any checksum or md5 to verify it :s
hmmm...crazy. OP was kinda vague in his results, but said he only got bad results using the toolbox.
you are right, no md5 :/
good to hear you got the drivers right. thats important.
other than redownloading and starting again from the beginning, i don't really know what to say. screw around with it?
sry dude.
try to change rom on my htc one x and the only thing now is going back to bootloader.

There's no problem.
rename the file to 0P6BING.zip (don't extract anything) and place it onto the root of your extSD.
Boot to bootloader and run hboot.
Done like dinner. Super simple. You are S-Off,correct?
It's not corrupted, it's encrypted......something completely different
Yes im s-off . I was afraid that will brick my phone after reading about corrupted . Thank you i will flash it tonight
