first of all, i want to thanks you guys who made it possible to have android in my rhodium210. great jobs.
after few weeks learning and trying, i want to use android as my main. but these last few days yg rhod210 keep freezing after few minutes of boot to android. i've tried change from frx00 blazn, frx003, froyo x, install cpu usage monitor, kill some process, nothing works. last night, i can use a few minutes longer than 'usual' before it crash. i notice i started it after few hours of full charge and it's cold. maybe my device crash because of 'processor overheating'. but i don't think it's hw problem because it's running fine in wm6.5 energy.
anybody have similar issue? or any idea?
thx in advance.
never mind.
installed latest froyo x (12 jan 2011) and everything works fine.

Hi guys,
I am having the following problem - after installing some of the common applications on my TP2 (microsoft.net CF 3.5; NoDataInRoaming; cleanRAM; DHR LockDevice; Exidler Hd2ProximityScreenOff; TMS UnInstaller; kPen SafeInboxExtender, HTC FM Radio) its battery began to deplete very fast - in less than 24 hours given that no applications or processes were permanently running (or at least I don't see any) and I haven't changed my usage manner either. Before that the battery lasted the usual 2 (sometimes 3) days. Has anyone else had similar problem?
I will appreciate if anyone gives me an idea why this might be happening.
Thank you in advance!
Hey,
I am having the same issue. I have installed nueCPL-ClockSpeed, to control the batt usage but still having no luck.

Thanks

Is it possible you have cleanRAM setup to frequently run? That could drain the battery. Also possible one of those apps switched wifi on and it is constantly looking for a signal, and before you didn't have it on.
You might also try deactivating the proximity sensor program (the program thread says this happens by running it again). I've not used this program, but I am wondering if it is overriding the phones function to "sleep" (which suspends the phone) and instead just shuts off the screen... That would cause quite a bit of battery drain.
I do wish I could get 2-3 days out of mine. I've never been better than a day, unless I had it suspended all the time.
Hey guys,
I just got my HTC Desire HD a few days ago. Been using the phone without modding or anything (I have no clue about them, just found out that we could do this yesterday) and found that my phone is pretty laggy occasionally and the battery life... is horrible!
The battery life has been fluctuating every day. Today, the phone lasted me for 5 hours only. Did not use the camera or watch videos. I checked the Battery Use window and I found that my Android OS used about 46% and my Display used 34%.
The software number is 1.32.178.5 with Froyo (2.2). I'm wondering if any mod could provide me with better performance and battery life as my OS currently is a battery guzzler.
I'm new to HTC and I've been reading up on flashing, modding etc. Not understanding too much though. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
The first thing you need to do is root your DHD. Without that, there is nothing much you can do.
Hey thanks for replying.
Yeah, I got that part. I wanted to know if replacing the mod will improve the performance and reduce the load on my battery.
Wondering if anyone has experience this change by replacing the mod rather than just having cosmetic and utility difference.

I am using ARHD on my DHD (as you can see from my signature) and i have huge improvement of overall performance and battery. It is just awesome using DHD with this ROM loaded on.
Most people root their device for better performance/stability and freedom than to color and give their DHD a cosmetic look!
PS! Read my signature....esp the last line

I have the same software version (AU Vodafone). I found it took a few charge/discharge cycles for the phone to get better acquainted with its battery. The first few days I was concerned about battery discharge time, however now I'm not. I even purchased a second charger for work, however I rarely seem to use it.
I've rooted my DHD using Visionary r14 however I'm still running the original ROM. I recommend that you try the following before changing your phones software:
Install SetCPU from the Market (requires root). This will underclock your phone (saving power) when not in use.
Settings -> Display -> Brightness -> Tick Automatic Brightness.
Disable GPS/Bluetooth if you don't use it, or enable it only when you need it.
Leave wifi/wireless off. You've got 2GB of 3G/HSDPA data allowance (slower than wifi but seems to use less power). I don't even use 25% of my data allowance.
Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Tick USB Debugging. This will reduce the lag (and stop Android OS using 46% of your battery).
I listen to music for close to 90 minutes per day, and sync two email accounts, RSS, Twitter, weather, etc. My battery will last at least a day and a half - by then it's at about 20% charge.
After being unplugged for 16.5 hours, my battery usage is as follows:
Cell standby 34%
Display 30%
Phone idle 28%
Android System 3%
Mediaserver 3%
Android OS 2%
And I've had the screen on for more than usual today.

I just tried this last night, had a really busy week. And WOW! I usually do not charge my phone overnight as I've heard that overcharging causes the battery to eventually become weak. I lose about 20-22% overnight where my Android OS takes up most of my battery. After I rooted and installed SetCPU, I lost only 8% over 6 hours, where the OS used only 5% and phone idle used 24%. A HUGE change, cheers for that Mike.

I'll try that ROM in sometime, look at how my phone is gonna perform after SetCPU. I've heard that using a different ROM will screw up my warranty so I'll hold on to the current ROM for a while. Thanks again.
Help needed with ozzy Radio Roms - Like which one??
Can anyone help me I really want to use CoreDroid
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858418
After rooting, Eng-off, S-off, unlocking the sim and using Clockworkmod to install CoreDroid. It booted fine and all looked good very impressed.
Except I now had no signal at all (bluetooth and WIFI are OK).
Tried multiple Radio roms found on XDA website all without any result.
After changing the ROM using the adb to push radio.img, restarting in fastboot
and finally flashing the rom. I would rebuild CordDriod from fresh each time just to be sure.
Can any body let me know if there is a more up to date ROM that is working with the VodaFone Australia Desire HD.
Many thanks in advance for any effort required.
Im going to try again, maybe i missed something.
hi there! right now im on cm7 110822 boot179-4 nightly (for 5 days now), and yesterday my phone started to drain the battery extremely fast, it took for 12 hours to go from 100% to 12%, and i usually have at least 50% after 12 hours. and i noticed something. when i touch the screen and hold, it tingles. is it possible that my touchscreen got screwed up and there flows way more current on it than it should? oh and one more thing. my phone has been extremely hot in the last day, the battery reached 45°C, while usually its around 35-37...

somebody help me, please!

The tingles thingies must come from settings - sound - heptic feedback. Getting hot must come from installed 3rd party apps that continuesly having your 3G data line access none stop. Trace back your history of installed apps to see which one actually doing the dirty spy job in your phone background..
Also making sure GPS and WIFI is off when not using and data sync too if you worried about continues syncing.
Mine normally after full charged, it will only drop 5% after like 8 hours from night to morning.

no, its not because of haptic feedback, i can tell the difference. wifi or 2g/3g is constantly on, depending on where i am, but it never caused any problems. gps is almost never on. i have used these apps for a month now, neither has caused any issues yet. i already solved the high temperature by disabling the boot oc (i accidentally forgot to do that after flash), and its possible that the tingling was a placebo, but the battery drain is still present. i will try the 110830 nightly, heard it was good. but thx for trying to help!

Even if the apps already there for months doesn't mean they're not giving you problem. Some apps start creating problem after an update that its developer might overlook. Another possibility is your battery may at it end of life..
If you have backup of your current rom right before it giving you problem, it might be good restoring it to narrow down your headache..

Hi everyone,
I just flashed ARHD 7.0.2 on my Desire HD last night and I'm experiencing the following problem:
The CPU remains at 99-100% all the time, the battery drains excessively fast and the phone gets really hot.
Using "Watchdog Lite", I detected that when the CPU does not stay at 100% (after a battery-pull), the "Phone" process uses 0,0% of CPU.
However, for some reason, after a while it will jump up to 80-90% and stay there, causing the CPU to go berserk.
I suppose the heat-issue comes from the fact that the cpu works all the time at 100%.
The battery drain issue comes also from the CPU.
However, I do not know why the Phone process would suddenly go crazy and use that much cpu - and keeps doing it until the battery is dead.
I'm thinking it is because the ARHD 7.0.2 ROM is actually a stock Sensation XL base and thusly requires another RIL than the one that was on it before that.
Before flashing another RIL or radio I would like it very much if somebody could confirm that the fact that the Phone process goes crazy like that could very well be linked to the fact that the RIL and Radio don't match.
It seems obvious, but I don't know enough of the inner workings to verify this, so therefor: this thread
Thanks in advance to all!
sstm
The RIL should be pretty standard between HTC devices so that shouldn't cause any issues. Did you do a full wipe before the install?
Hello TransientMotion,
Yes I did a full wipe, I even cleared the battery stats for good measure.
I even formatted my SD-card to make sure nothing remained from some app somewhere.
The phone is as if I'd have bought it fresh out of the store with ARHD 7.0.2 on it (and rooted of course)
It's just weird to see that the "Phone" process is using this much cpu, even when on Airplane mode.
Thanks for you reply,
sstm
It may be worth trying out an earlier version of the rom just to see what happens. I used 6..3.1 before I switched over to ICS and never had any major problems with it. If that works fine then try newer versions until you get glitches again or it works without the drain
Hey,
I just found out that it is Llama (kebabApp 'location aware' application) who is causing the problem.
Whenever I leave an area and then re-enter it, the CPU goes berserk and stays that way as if some loop can never be interrupted.
I didn't have this problem on ARHD 6.3.1, but I didn't have the same Llama configuration on it either so I tried the Llama config on ARHD 6.3.1 and it did the exact same thing: cpu 100% and slowness all over.
So conclusion: Llama config is the culprit.
Anyways, thanks for you help TransientMotion.

hello guys i want to tell my story with this phone. i bought the phone this july the firmware installed was 52.1.A.2.1, i came from the xperia xz1 compact. after turn on the phone i immediately installed my app with releated configuration. the phone was fantastic, after 2 days, i reached 6 hour screen on time (with remaining charge of 44% I swear!): surfing the web, installing app, watching videos, doing some photos and videos. all this use without experienceing overheating. also the next days were great too! and than arrive the new update, without worries i updated the phone, and since than the odyssey started. until that days, i perform this experiment:
-format the phone, and started again without restore my old datas
-repairing the firmware with companion app
-downgraded to 52.1.A.2.1
-i tried to use the phone in the "secure mode" like a provvisory mode
-the last step was downgrade to android 9
nothing of this solved my problem! the phone get overheat after few minutes of watching live events (streaming), or surfing web.
this morning i started with 100% and now after this:
google play services 20 min
adblock browser 80 min
screen 150 min
tapatalk 5 min
i'm at 33%!!!!!!
i want to know, how it's possible? some of you experienced this? yesterday i installed android 9, if after one week the situation will not get better i will send the phone to assistance
please, please help me
thank you so much in advance
