Anyone else having this problem on the DK28?
Airplane mode and back doesn't seem to work. Only thing that cures it is a soft reset. But that is a pain in the tush when you're in a hurry to text someone back.
And YES, I have searched and only found similar topics on other devices that do not help me with my Epic whatsoever.

Have you tried using odin back to stock DI18 then downloading a different DK28 file whether it is the .tar or update.zip?
Have you checked your build.prop? Make sure it says keyguard.no_require_sim=TRUE.

Yeah that's really all I got lol. I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to the stuff Digi760 is talking about with the build.prop. However I did get that message before when I first updated to DK28 but since then I've gone back and forth from stock to that. Haven't had it since though.

build.prop is found in the /system/ directory. Its /system/build.prop. You can go to that directory using ASTRO or ES file explorer.
The SIM line is towards the bottom. On mines its the 7th from the bottom.

What all needs to be used to flash the EC05 tar file from Mammon in ODIN? What settings need to be checked? Do we need to put in the victory_8G pit file and the EC05 tar file? Any help with this would be great! Thanks in advance!
The only option checked should be auto reboot. Yes you do need to use the .pit file, and the modem.tar file should go in the phone slot. Good luck. Im using it, its working fine.

OK so do this and there will be no data loss (I know, backup always) then flash the new ROM over the old right?
Don't know what is going on in the DEV section. Seems to be a war or something. And Bonsai thread keeps getting closed.

Yup, I did a nand backup and flashed the EC05 modem through ODIN and it rebooted back into the VIPERrom 5.0 and everything worked alright. I wiped 3X and installed Bonsai 4.0. Works fine.

Cool. Thanks. I assume I can flash Bonsai 4 right over 3.0.1 since they have been including the wipes in the flash. Can't ask anyone since their thread keeps getting locked.

Thanks, I only wanted the modem for now and never used odin. I always felt odin was a last resort if cwm ever failed to restore a nandroid, still never wanted to use it. Anyhow I still screwed up by putting the tar file under pda instead of phone, but thankfully it didn't matter....as I wipe the sweat beads off my forehead. :-D
If you flash a tar file it goes under PDA. .bin goes in phone. You did it right.

If he is flashing ICS via the Odin tar he should NOT need to wipe anything. The tar could be bad (maybe a bad download) or something. The screen he saw though is normal on first reboot as I've seen it also but it reboots within a minute (or less)

The 1 clicks are not bad to flash. I do have a EG30 tar but it's to big to put anywhere without breaking it down into smaller parts. But using the 1 click flash able tars should do the trick regardless.

after unplugging the phone from usb with that screen this is what reads on that screen.
E:failed to mount /data (unknown error 0)
update logfile does not exist
then it did a data wipe and something else.
it rebooted and after the boot screen it went kernel panic upload mode.
any ideas now?

ok that's odd. I've honestly never seen it do that with mine but I have seen the Android guy a few times (mostly with the ICS builds) Maybe someone with a bit more experience could chime in on the matter and maybe have a few ideas as to what you could do. Someone like sfhub or one of the devs maybe.
Edit
If I had to take a guess however it almost sounds like something is corrupt however. Maybe I'm wrong like I said just taking a guess on it.

go for it im willing to try anything and id appreciate it alot if it saves me the hassle of dealing with the idiots at sprint. If it doesnt work ill just take it to them say it was a bad ota update and order a new one. The files are being uploaded now. Once all 3 are done I'll pm you the mediafire links to download them. The rar has a recovery record so if something happens (by chance) you should be able to recovery it (incase of a bad download)
Here is the thing this is a STOCK EG30 no root nothing. I use sfhubs auto root package to regain root on the device when I use this (which is often lol) I hope this does work however.
I'll pm you in a few once it's all done uploading.

Pit goes in the PIT option for Odin. Put the TAR in PDA.
