Just wondering, is there any mods I can flash to just change the icons and nothing else, I don't want to change the theme.

I think one can do this with sense roms just no body has done any mods for this... the only rom i think this can be done very easily is the MIUI rom for evo. As for sense roms i havent seen any mods for what you are asking for... depends on your rom

NinjaMorph will let you change up your icons:

You can find new icons to play around with in this thread;

For some reason I really like that launcher bar at the bottom of Fresh 0.5.3. But I'm curious to take another ROM for a spin just for the fun of it.
Is there a file or theme that I can use to put that launcher back? I can't seem to find one, but thought I'd ask to be sure.
TIA
Take it out of development and go into General or Q&A.
Search the market for launchers.
But I think this would be a development issue. It's a matter of if anybody else out there has noticed a mod or .zip that somebody has developed that changes only the style of the launcher bar. Not looking for ADW, ahome, or or another launcher apk. Just a .zip file. Just a random shot in the dark to the forum.
If it helps that bar is from espresso ui

It is a Metamorph, look it up on the market, or better yet, here on xda. basically it is an easy way to theme your phone.
I use to use fresh only because of the bar. Now I'm using DC ROM with the bar.

Yeah konikub makes it, sorry if spelt it wrong. Go check themes and apps he does a lot of good work. I can't post links yet but its somewhere

Basically what you are looking for is an expresso rosie. There should be plenty of themes that you can apply that use that rosie. I know konikub has made a couple of themes for DC. I believe that at least one of them is expresso. May want to give that a shot.

Is there a ROM for the latest updated EVO 4G that is stock sense 2.1 just like the thunderbolt? I like the way to lockscreen changes depending on what skin you're using. I'm currently using a sense 2.1+3.0 ROM and love it but I like the change in lockscreen like a stock thunderbolt. Thanks in advance

I don't know of any roms for the evo that have that type of capability but as I have refered some people before pm either king or virus or some of the other devs and they might bring a port over to the evo. Also idk if you like the sense roms, but MIUI has themes like this. They change the lockscreen with each theme change.
Some skins will change your lock screen on all the sense 2.1 , 2.1-3.0 ,3.0 ROMs you just have to find a themed skin you could even find and try ones from other phones as long as they are for a 2.1 ROM they should work on the 2.1 and 2.1-3.0 ROMs and if its for a 3.0 well you get it.

I have been trying out different themes for my phone, but what I came to notice is that not all of the icons match the theme and stay stock, and it looks stupid. Is there any way around this?
usually theme creators only theme the most common apps
Guess you gotta stick with the themes that don't mod the icons then

I'm talking about themes downloaded from the market for ADW.Launcher on CM7.2 RC3.
Your not going to find an adw theme that changes all apps. What you can do is if there is a popular app that is not themed, you can always contact the dev and ask nicely that it be put into the next update. I think a lot of devs just hit the basics and post to market quickly to make a few bucks. But some of the better ones will actually take the time to listen to their customers and incorporate requests.

What about some of the lettered icon packs?(Icon pack A,B,C, etc.) I've noticed there are a few if them, so maybe try those and see if they have what you're looking for.
A couple of devs have even posted numerous packs of 50-100 icons each....they are paid, but they should cover just about everything.

Also some themes don't have direct replacment icons, rather, they have a lot of generic icons. For instance, if you use a 3rd party twitter app, you can use the stock Twitter icon.

There are a couple things that I want to do but I can't seem to figure out, and I've searched the 1200+ pages in the Shooter ROM thread, and there's nothing about a how-to guide. Is there even something like this written for ROMs normally, or are we just kind of left to our own devices, as it were?
Thanks.

And also, I can't see if you have 10 posts or not, but if you don't, go make a couple of helpful posts and then go ask your questions in the thread. the people in the thread are nice

I don't have 10 posts yet. Most of the time, I get completely lost trying to find my own answers on here, and I usually end up giving up at some point.
I don't really need a how-to on ROMs in general, but every ROM, and every UI is different. Like, how do I change the icons on my lock screen on my Shooter 5.5 build ROM? Questions like that, how do I do this or that, not really a question of how do I install it, how do I wipe my cache, that I usually just follow the instructions for the ROM, but after the ROM is installed. Some ROMs have more settings/tweaks/features, and some have less.
Do you know what I mean?
Some of the themes might do it for you..

Yeah, either PM the devs, play with the ROM alot, or get your 10 posts and ask in the thread!! So what exactly do you need help with? Label it like this:
- I need help with
- this
- this
- that
Etc, that way, I can help you out and answer your questions in an organized fashion

I need help with:
How do I change the 4 icons on the HTC lock screen?
Can I change where it says "Team-Nocturnal" at the top of my screen to something else?
Can I change the stupid ring unlock to a left-to-right slide, while keeping the animated sense htc weather background?
That's about it, thanks again if you know how to change any of this stuff.

4 icons- Click personalize, then choose the lockscreen you currently have, it should say apply and settings under it. Click settings and ir should have the 4 little icons and you can click one and re assign it with a different app.
Change lockscreen ring- go to settings>tweaks>miscellaneous and then find lockscreen style. It should have the one you're looking for.
As for the team nocturnal thing,, can't help ya there. Im sure MBQ can tho

Thanks, although it's annoying to have to reboot to change my lockscreen style. And it appears that the lockscreen style is tied to the weather animation as the "HTC Sense" style. I really like how fast the "android" one is with it's side slider, but there's no weather animation. These things are never 100% what I want, and it's really annoying.
Whenever I click personalize, it just goes back to the home screen. I've read that this is a ROM issue, but I've done 3 roms so far, warmtwopointtwo, shooter, and cm7, and all 3 of them have this behavior, is there an app I can get, or is there some tweak I need to do to get that to work?
Do I have to use themes specifically made for certain Roms or can I flash any theme?

Not sure on all of this (someone more knowledgeable jump in here)
Sense ROMs need Sense themes
AOKP ROMs need AOKP (CM7, 9, 10) Theme Changer (T-Mobile engine) themes
MIUI ROMs need MIUI themes
...you get the idea.
Certain Launchers (home replacements) will theme part of the UI, like icons and such (ADW, GO launchers come to mind)
Check out this thread for more info...

I'm no recognized dev or contributor, but i believe to edit for any specific rom,you will need to decompile the systemUI.apk/framework-res.apk and if its sense based also decompile and edit rthe com.htc.resources.apk's and thats just for the system itself not apps and settings they are individual.I hope this helped.
