Hi
A way to deploy Xap without running boring Zune software.
First disable autostart when device is connect in zune settings.
create a shortcut off C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Tools\WPConnect\WPConnect.exe
connect your device then run this shortcut.

when this cmd close you can deploy XAP with your favorite tool
or unlock the phone with chevron (sometime with an error message but this work)
simple!
if you don't have WPConnect.exe
install the WPDTOctober2010Update
Thanks for this job xboxmod
Nice info. Now I can breadth with WP7. lol~
thanks again
Thanks for the info. Works fine with my OMNIA 7.
Not that this isn't good info but it's an officially supported tool/method. Without this it's impossible to debug apps that make use of any sort of media.

Exactly, because when debugging applications that uses the CameraTask / Zune API, you cannot access to these tasks if you are connected to Zune, and hence, you cannot debug with visual studio anyways.
This tool is made for this purpose and is described with details in the book Programming Windows Phone 7
Hi,
I did all of the steps you posted and still getting the error message of " Sorry I'm having trouble communicating with the Phone. ETC..."
I did the unlocked before with Chevron unlocker but now every time I plug it back in I get the same error message. I tried everything.. Can anybody please help?? This is driving me nuts.
Thanks
Thanks for the information, the program works fine with LG Optimus 7 (LG-E900)
good stuff!!

+1. and even the TorchExplorer gives me an error of being revoked :/ I didnt do any updates or something like that. I can use the phone but I cant install apps not unlock it
trying to unlock my Focus isung this method didn't work. this WPConnect.exe just blinks (with printscreen I could read that can't connect to phone) and Chevron doesn't even open, click and the stupid "UH oh" message again and again.
Do you have chevron set as an exception in your firewall settings. I have eset and that gave me problems for a while because I was expecting a popup asking if i wanted to add an exception and it never did. I had to do it manually. I personally unlock my hd7 and deploy cap with wpconnect... Way faster than Zune. Only use zune to sync music
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
First, didn't see the original thread date, January, but somebody reply so it appear at top
Second, it didn't work with LG Optimus 7, i guess they fix that. It says "Connection established" but when I run the project on "Windows Phone 7 device" mode it says the device is locked

Hi all,
having a walk at the other side of the planet i found that:
http://www.zune123.com/
there you can dl : -wp7booster.xap (http://d.zune123.com/WP7Booster.xap) : sideload it
-xapinstallerv1.1 (http://d.zune123.com/setup.exe) : run it on your desktop
watch out caus' it's all chinese!
but wp7booster turned to uk on my french phone.
I can now browse the music in my phone with windows explorer (all well named...) and pictures too...
It brings connectivity shortcuts, sync activation (usb/wifi),
xap browser/market/installer/(updater?), a way for backing up contacts that seems to work but can't find where it is stored...
It's a kind of amazing all features those two little things come with...
That would be great if someone had skills to translate those apps (or just telling me how...)
hi, i tried using the google translate to read the link you have given.
It was so useful. But the PC sync doesnt seem to be working for me in USB.(i didnt try the WiFi method though).
When i check for the PC SYNC via USB, it says please upgrade to WP7 Booster2.0 .
But i cant find the XAP in the zune123.com site.
If you have the xap please share.
Can anyone translate this app to english. ?

There is no wp7booster2.0, only1.2...what you need is the desktop manager which is XAPinstaller1.1, it will sync to your phone using zune or wpconnect...i had the same issue before setting it up...
link : http://d.zune123.com/setup.exe
JFYI, they renamed the XAPInstaller 1.2 to 2.0 because of the major change in coding and will be release soon...
btw, xapinstaller1.1 works...
chevron unlock is enough or I need interop unlock to play with this app?
The backup is here : Applications\Data\72c57422-66d8-49a3-a22f-c0ed2d9fcdc8\Data\IsolatedStore\Backup\Contacts.dat

Hi slayer,
sorry but if i decided to "highlight" that manager application without testing it fully and even only understanding 2 or 3 features it deals with, it was because i thought it could possibly "inspire" some of the great devs here in order to bring a new windows manager to our wp7 devices...for the moment we have zune and Mr Schaps' WindowsPhoneDeviceManager which is always in beta phase (<---slayer.1942 : that's what u need bro, go to www.touchxperience.com)
i know their software from the first days of release, but the problem is that they make it pricy(not free), and u must donate them
i rather like something free
the free version won't work on 7.5

Nothing new
Ability to install XAP files from WP IE without PC.
You need just enter URL to XAP file and it will download and install it.
Note, the start and the end of installation signaled by sound beeps, no UI provided yet.
It's recomended to turn on sound before installing.

you should say "how to deploy from an Android device"
Yeah its another way ....and i couldn't find wifi file explorer on pc suitable...cuz it reach 50% and stop....so tried with android worked .....and i dont have sdk nor the tools aren't workong due to dll problems..so its another way..
hfs
hfs is probably the easiest way to transfer files from pc to wp7. Single executable, so nothing to install. Switch on your server, drag&&drop your file(s) and enter the URL (=your IP) in the browser. Tap on the xap file and you're done.
Correct!

Ok thanks guys....through IE on wp7 download dont continue....told u it reach 50% nd stops....the only way worked for me is through opera mini and open the downloaded file through touch xplorer....using next gen+ 2.3
Im using Boxfiles for Dropbox.
I have a folder called Apps that i put the xap files in, then I click the app.xap I want to install, IE opens, downloads and installs it.
So easy
So you have money to pay all your expenses yet you cant buy an app thats worth 5 bux.
man its just for demonstration....other apps are paid
Some people may have never heard of developermenu.efi, it's an efi application Microsoft mostly uses on test devices which allows you to do many things, here are the main highlights:
Note: if some people have a problem with getting this efi to display something, please use this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-10-mobile/exe-binaries-binaries-w10m-oem-kit-t3476453
Enter Mass Storage mode directly on the phone without the need of a computer.
Delete and dump the UEFI variable storage from the phone (be careful with this you can easily cause problems).
Tickle the battery to 0% (useful for re-calibration).
This EFI application is test signed, this means you must run it on an unlocked device.

It's also the latest available (from 15254.158).
You can create a new entry in BCD for a new bootapplication and reference it in the place you did put the efi. You also must make sure you turn on nointegritychecks on it because it's test signed.
For reference here's what Microsoft actually does to BCD when installing it (aside from nointegritychecks):
You must place the files attached in EFIESP\windows\system32\boot\
Provided are also the latest bmpx files which enables graphical status when you're in mass storage (also works when switched using WPInternals).
L630DS work fine but I don't see anythynk, just black screen.
PS: tried use different devmenu efi(from this post) and it work and display.

What doesn't display? The menu or when you enter the mass storage section? That efi should defintely work except maybe on rs2+, didn't check everything but I vaguely remember MS breaking feature manifest policies with rs2.

I can't actually make a tutorial now because each people have their own way of loading entries from bootmgr, but I have planned making a whole post about bootmgr and bcd entries and how to have multiple of them on a lumia device in the future, afterwards sure.
Please make tutorial using bcdedit
I have BSOD on 950
UPD: My fault, i had efi file on wrong partition
So I do have a question on this, it is the 'Reset your phone' inside "About" that we use to open this, right? (running 10586 on a htc one m8, trying to follow your guide on unlocking the bootloader)
update: nevermind, its a hard reset and not a factory reset
Hello my dear Friends
I am struggling with unlocking my phone.
Phone-Model: M1908C3JGG
First, what I have done:
Allow the bootloader to be unlocked (in dev. options)
Set the USB debuggin to ON (in dev. options)
Downloaded the Adb-Tool & drivers and install it and set the variables.

Sorry for my newbienes XD
You need to manually update the driver in device manager, try the below one. If it says installation failed due to unsigned drivers, then disable signature verification in your PC and try install again

It still don't work.
Right click on Android Bootloader Interface
Then connect your phone to the computer
Click on update driver
Select Browse my computer for drivers.
Then select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
Click Next and let it complete
If you still face any issue download updated adb and fastboot drivers
ADB and FASTBOOT DRIVERS
I get this error message:
It means This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Updated also not help.
Is this always so difficult on Windows?

No it is not. Uninstall the Android Bootloader drivers and restart your computer. Restart using restart button
Then connect your phone and see if it solves your problem.

Try this one, i'm used this in in my Windows 8 and it worked perfectly, it should work in Windows 10 too.
thanks to mvikrant97 I can now unlock my phone.
My Rzyen 5 3600 CUP had some issues with the driver. We used the "AMD Ryzen USB controller fix.zip".
A known Error https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/fix-fastboot-issues-on-ryzen-based-pcs.4186321/
I am unable to unlock the bootloader (I know every little detail of the process and I have done it successfully again in another xiaomi lisa device).
All the drivers are installed, phone is recognized, I have tried with adb and with miflash_unlock without success. It doesn't start countdown. I get the message that I must have a Mi account registered in my phone (as of course I do). With adb I get the error 'Token Verify Failed, Reboot the device'. I have to mention that I used Windows 10 and the original usb cable.
I believe the problem is that in Mi Account -> Devices , the SIM card seems that is not recognized, although is working fine.

Check that your device appears here and use the same account/sim.
I confirm that my device appears in Xiaomi cloud. I also tried to make a new account and warned me that my phone number is also connected to another account. I continued finishing the creation and tried again to unlock bootloader. The result was exactly the same, with adb and windows application too.

My mistake. I hadn't add my account.
At last I continued the unlocking process and started the countdown.
But Sim card continues to be shown as missing in my account. Nevermind anyway...
