Clockworkmod 3.0.0.2 has support for ext4 and would auto convert your filesystem when installed. (please correct me if I am wrong).
However, Unrevoked v3.31 downgraded the version of Clockworkmod being used from 3.0.0.x into 2.6.
My question is, does Clockworkmod 2.6 also have support for ext4?
Ext4 is supported on the Epic... haven't read anything for Evo...
Bobby O's Evo..
Thanks for the info rob97ss.
Anyone else? Does Clockworkmod 2.6 also have support for ext4?
As a matter of fact YES IT DOES
Ive done it as my first time rooting my phone and it worked !
Also i tried it on my Samsung Transform which also worked

Hi all,
I have a Desire GSM, I've unrevoked my desire using ClockworkMod 2.5 and installed CyanogenMod7 on it.
Works great.
Do/Did I need to upgrade my ClockworkMod2.5 - to 3?
Why would I if I do?
Thanks guys

For our desire, at the moment there is no need of 3.x..u can use the 2.x
I have CWM 3 and sometimes it's a pain when I'm installing zip's and they're not supported. That's the only downside to it 3.0.0.5.
Such as?

The scripting between 2.5.1.8 and 3.0.0.5 is different, so you need flashable zips to be compatible with 3.0.0.5 otherwise you have to use 2.5.1.8 instead. All the Ginerbread roms (I assume all of them but not too sure) can be used in 3.0.0.5 but older stuff like Froyo was built to run in 2.5.1.8 because of the scripting. So sometimes you have to use the older one.
I am trying to reroot my epic since some of the newer roms require clockworkmod
2.5.1.2 or higher (I am still using the RFS) and when I get the latest 2.5.5 clockworkmod from download link and root my phone all I am getting is 2.5.1.0 when check root ver. Please where is the REAL lastest clockworkmod.
Don't wont to move to EXT4 and 3.0 yet, all I want is 2.5.1.2

That's where I was getting originally when check ver after all on my phone shows
2.5.1.0 I gonna try again, thanks.

Tried again, when boot in clockworkmod shows recovery ver 2.5.1.0 is this
the same as the ver of clockworkmod I am confused cuz I put 2.5.5 in there.

If you don't want ext4.then you have to stay at cwm version 2.5.1.0. The cwm 2.5.1.2 and. 3.0.0.5 are all for ext4

That's answer my question, I was trying to flash nebula rom 1.07 but there was

I looked for everywhere bit couldn't find any link to clockwork recovery 3.0(ext4 partitions) or ny other that I can use with unrevocked..to make or erase ext4 partitions

Using a recovery to partition ext will only partition ext2/3 at best. To get 4 you can run some scripts or something that will upgrade the ext partition, or you can format it using something like Gparted or Easus.
I definitely recommend doing any partitioning with Gparted, cos I'm running Clockworkmod 3.0 on an SLCD desire (installed during rooting with Unrevoked) and the partitioning option never works. Neither does ROM Manager, whereas Gparted has never failed me once.
Keep ROM manager on your phone though, cos sometimes, 3.0 cant flash a zip cos of some edify script issue, so if this ever happens, go into ROM manager and tell it to flash clockworkmod, then ask it to boot into recovery. It will boot you into clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 as a one off, and flashing these zips in 2.5.0.7 always works.
After you flash the zip and reboot back to android, next time you try to use clockworkmod you'll be back to 3.0.
Here's the thread where you can get Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5:

You should avoid using Rom Manager. It doesn't work properly and causes more problems than what it solves.
In my opinion, use CWM 2.5.0.7 because it works and all scripts work with it. Until there is an official release for 3.0, it won't work properly.

This would be the ideal option, but I found that when using 2.5.0.7 creating backups failed, which is a pretty important feature!!
That's the only reason why I changed to 3.0.0.5.
Have you tried rebooting?
I have clockwork 2.5, rfs, supernova, genocide kernal.
Can i just run 1click 3.0 to upgrade clockwork, and get ext4. Or do I have to return to stock first?
You can just run the one click.
Once installed, it will back up your phone, convert and restore your phone.
Make sure you have an EXT4 kernel on your SD card, or a dual filesystem (RFS & EXT4) kernal installed, or your phone will not boot once you install CWM 3.0.0.6 and convert to EXT4
AFAIK, the Genocide Kernel 0.3a does support RFS & EXT4

I think kernel would be ok too, but it shouldn't matter. Since I'm planning on installing frozen immediatly. I think I know everything I need to do. But could someone check my steps and make sure I don't forget something
first do 1click root 3.0. after converting to ext4(without reboot), wipe, wipe, wipe, flash frozen.
Seems to easy, I'm afraid I'm missing something.
That's pretty much all you do. ) Same steps I took.
I will flash it tomorrow, when I have all weekend to fix any screwups. Hopefully frozen 1.0.1 will come out tonight. But either way Its getting installed.
I have a need for speed!
Im currnetly running 2.6 version of Clockwork and its been running fine. Should I upgrade to the latest 3.0x? Whats the benefit??

If it is doing what you want and you're not having problems with it, then don't fix what isn't broken......but if you're curious to see the changes, go ahead. Use the ROM Manager app to effortlessly switch back and forth between the two.

Cwm 3.0+ does not support amend scripting. Just stay with what u got or switch to amon_ra
Sentt from mmy pockett
Amend scritping it what?
ROMs/kernels are built on either Edify or Amend scripting. Lots of things are still Amend, so keep your current one or move to Amon RA. Just my advice.
+1 to amon ra2.3
