Hello! So I'm new to having a NAM Desire Z for AT&T here in the states, and to get my phone back to stock HTC, I've loaded the European version of the ROM as listed in the forums. I've done everything, so its unlocked, S-off, and rooted.
My only question is, I know it's the European version, but is there a way to install the English (United States) language pack instead of the UK version? Additionally, I don't need all these other languages, so could I remove them to make more space? Thanks!
I had this problem when using an American ROM on my UK Desire Z & I wanted English UK but there is an answer!
On the market download an app called "MoreLocale2" It allows you to add more default locations so you can set your phone to "English (USA)"
Hope this helps & don't forget to say thanks
All I could really say is I love you (in a manly way of course).
...thx ....really useable post....
I hate to bring this thread back from the dead, but is there any way to REMOVE the other languages in CM 7?
Looked absolutely everywhere, found nothing...

Hi, I just got my phone yesterday.
I see that latin american rom is not available on the site. Just a backup is ok? or should I take special consideration to dump it before putting other roms?
I want to be sure both that I can go back and that I can get the required info to contribute the rom here.
thanks!
What Android version does it come with?
System Version
Blur_Version.6.14.7.MB525.Personal.en.AR
Firmware Version
2.1-Update1
Build number
System version: Blur_Version6.14.7.MB525.Personal.en.AR
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Number version: JORLA_U3_6.14.7
Another question, is any ROM in the forums posted in spanish?
Cuz i'd like to change mi stock ROM.
I'm from Argentina, so thats the reason for my lame english.
The Central Europe one has Spanish.

But if it's anything like Portuguese it's pretty broken, half the GUI is in english and the other half is in pt, plus it doesn't support special characters, so no ~´ç

Thanks Hocevar, but i don't know. I don't wanna flash my phone, just wanna try Recovery. Or should I use RSDLite first and then try Recovery?.
If i can use Recovery without using RSDLite, what ROM do you recomend?.
So, i got a desire z today, via amazon, but the phone is the south east asian kind.
I was actually hoping for an Euro one. Is there any way to change the rom to the default Euro rom without using custom roms?
I had a SE X10 and i changed my rom from Latin america to swedish or somthing, so i could update the phone to 2.1 sooner and i was hoping something like that would be possible here.
Any tips on that or how i could change phone language and keyboard config?
Thanks already!
So I received my Arc S today in the UK, and it's a French model - I knew it'd be a European model of some sort when I ordered, so that's fine.
But even though I've set the language to English, I'm still finding a few things in French and it seems like my UK network can't detect what phone I have, and I'm unable to get a data connection.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to flash a generic stock or O2-UK stock rom to it please? I used to have a HTC Sensation and have experience rooting and custom rom'ing with that. My current build number is 4.0.2.A.0.42.
Do I root and flash the stock firmware from this page?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204302
So to build number 4.0.A.2.368, to be clear. Will that give me all the generic/UK stock options instead of French video services, Canal+ and Jeux Gameloft?! I really don't need a custom rom, in fact I want it to be as much like I've just bought it from a UK supply as possible and don't even need rooting or the bootloader unlocked at the end of it if that can be avoided.
Your help is much appreciated in advance!

Go to http://www.wotanserver.com/en
You can flash what you want for free, just register on the site and download the client

Thanks! It doesn't seem to have a generic UK firmware - only Central Europe 1/2/3 without listing the difference - but I've emailed Wotanserver to see if they can advise.
Is their method safe, do you know?
Hey Guys,
I am sorry for all of the n00bish questions lately, though I have the Singapore HTC One X running 1.28.707.10, and was wondering what the easiest way of getting a more common English variant on the device would be?
English (Singapore) and all of the other Asian English variants affect predictive text on the keyboard, which is why I am wanting a ROM with English United States, United Kingdom or Australia etc.
It is my understanding that I cannot put ROMs such as this one on the device (Europe 1.28.401.9), due to the devices CID?
Any help would be appreciated, there must be other people out there in the same situation? Is there a good custom ROM out there that is compatible with the Singapore version, and has a more common English variant?
aufens
I have a similar problem with mine saying English (France). Tho, I don't have any predictive text issues to speak of. I posted antutu benchmarks and got a French flag.
All roms available in dev section works in Asian firmware variant. I'm currently in 1.28.707.10 also and I've tried 5 different roms already which are based on Europe firmware 1.28.401 and got no problem flashing those.
Most of them english(uk) but team pkmn Rom also got english(us).
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You can install apps to change location.
Like MoreLocale2, or LocaleSwitch, and set you locale.
Works for me.

That doesn't solve the keyboard predictive text issue though.

hi
I just got my one x today and i just want to make sure i got this right...in the software information section it says software number 3.14.707.24 and my system only has English(Singapore) and other languages i don't know.
i didn't s-off or root or anything just out of the box is it possible to change my software to another official one? with a different region?
please help me with this...much appreciated.
What is the difference between the countries in the stock ROMs?
My wife and I both bought the N7100. Mine was Hungarian, hers French (according to the manuals). But both are working fine in The Netherlands with the language set to Dutch.
She's gotten the update to 1.4.2 (non-rooted ) and it seems to be French still (N7100XXDLL4 N7100OXADLL4).
Can I put any ROM on my (rooted) phone (N7100XXALJ1 N7100OXXALJ1), or do I need to get one from the same region?

You can install any region firmware, though you may get a slight difference in signal strength apparently. Though if your wife is already using the French and she has no issues, go for it
Thanks.
I'll try that one.
That is, if the download is working
The modem is the main difference (if any) ... which you can always flash from a stock rom from your actual region over the other region's rom (if required)
Hi,
I have the same question regarding this issue.
Recently my mother bought me a Note2 as a gift in Singapore.
Once I started using it, I found stock app like Singtel which is the telco in singapore, But I have no use of it.
I am currently reside in Brunei. I wish to flash everything stock without any telco apps. How should i do it?>
Thank you.
Download unbranded ROM from here (like Indian ROM) and flash

If you just want to remove some application only without flashing ROM, you can use system appl remover(needs root)
French ROM is installed with mobile ODIN and it seems to work perfectly.
The phone felt laggish, but it's getting better.
Only those damn *HUBs that came with the ROM...
