Oh my god, this is great!!! I installed it and it works perfectly! No issues at all
However, I was not yet able to get gps signal but I guess it's just a matter of having the right conditions!
Only thing I have strange is that every time I exit a setting, I always go back to the phone (instead of the today screen). Any idea?

No .. you need to lose the bell rom in order to have gps .. no biggie really, nothing in bell rom that can't be replaced.. Bell will never give this to us.. they want us to buy navigation by the month.. Laugh when you pay your $7 data bill and enjoy using roms from other carriers with the gps...

No I don't think its possible especially after you upgrade the radio to the 3.XX. But just upgrading to WM 6.1 should be fine as I was able to go back to the stock ROM from Bell.

GOld_sprinter: Are you able to use the GPS ? were do you use it? In Montreal it does not find any GPSm should I change anything in my setting?
One more thing, do you have problems with your incoming calls? I am not able to take some calls with this ROM, even if I press on anser, it does not answer...
mletourneau, I live in Calgary and it works beautifully. I don't see why it would not work in Montreal it is based on Satellites, so you should get the same ones that I do. As for the phone call problems I have not experienced anything like that, the only issue I have is that sometimes I have to press the 'send' button twice when dialing out. I wish I could help you fix you problem but I don't have any clue where to start.
Maybe someone here can be of some assistance
Good luck buddy.
Going Back to hold radio... or rom
Hi, Any clue on how to go back to official Bell ROM?
GPS works FIne but since I am not with Sprint, I do not have access to Sprint TV or other software from Sprint Anyways...
Thanks in advance
-
go to www.ppcgeeks.com
download omj's custom bell rom
and that should solve your sprint tv etc. issue
Official bell update was released today. I'm a telus user so I have no input to give you on it but the telus update for some reason directs the telus users to the bell update WHICH doesnt work on our phone (duh)
Anyone who wants to try this and let us know if it has GPS that would be great.
download link here: http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=70&act=sd
Does the Bell update noted above enable reva or gps?? I saw that update awhile ago and never bothered because I figured it had neither.
Just to note, the rom is dated 03.19.08 in the link image.
Think I have to unlock and flash mighty soon
Carrier is Bell by the way.........
Yeah, I don't see anything about WM6.1 or anything else for this update for Bell. Looks like an old download and update to me personally.
The telus update page (when it did show the update rom information, its empty now) said it was Rev A, WM 6.1 and can only assume GPS since it included Telus navigator but that could be AGPS. That said.. because the link on the telus page downloaded the bell rom I sort of assumed that the bell one was the same. In fact I cant believe that Bell would be far behind with an update that would be the same as the telus one. I hope they release this soon. I dont want to put some cooked rom on my phone and void any warranty or anything
Warranty? lol. I never buy a phone on contract... I buy it right out. Do I get warranty..nope. And I have never needed it for anything electronic I own. And ya know what it has never done me wrong. All that money wasted if I did. If you do't know something is wrong with it in the first 30 days. something is wrong with you or how you treat your electronics. If my phone craps out I get a new one. Heck every year I buy a new one. Right now I have the HTC touch. It rocks. It runs smooth and I am using omj's custom bell rom. It runs faster smoother and generates less heat. Love it. Only flaw I don't have Musicstore on it... Bell offers it for the touch. And I loved it.
Your Phone is only as good as it's operator. My phone is my everything and I can do whatever I want on it. Just like a computer.
anyone tried to install the bell update on a telus touch?!?
I did the update ... everything seems to be working, phone, software, but I can't seem to connect to internet ?
Hi Guys,
not sure what do do, ive tried updating Rom (currently running latest Energy Rom) although had this problem before updating to the latest, previous was a few months old.
Also updated/changed the Radio version - still nothing.
basicaly - whenever i enable 3G - my phone drops the network connection, whereas for the last 18months not had a single problem - nothing has changed as far as im aware..
Anyone had this or got any suggestions on what to do ?
VODAFONE.
my problem happens all the timel; ie i cant get a 3G connection, when i select to enabke 3G it just drops network totaly, cant make calls, text etc etc.
I actually just starting to have the same problem... Are you on Vodafone in the UK? My problems started yesterday evening...
I've been hearing a lot about this lately. I think it has something to do with Vodafone and Orange combining network coverage. Try the following to see if it works. Make sure to back up your stuff first.
task29
Flash Stock ROM/Radio (they should come bundled together)
task29
flash custom ROM
boot and then hard reset.
See if this fixes the problem.

Yeah Vodafone UK! - My problems started Saturday Evening, between Sat Evening and Sunday afternoon (after i'd flashed and changed the 3G setting) - i then got a signal...
Ive tried enabling the 3G Since, and it just drops out!
Might try FLashing the Stock Rom - any idea where i can get a standard rom/radio ?

Did all that, used the _HTC Touch Pro2_RUU_Rhodium_S2_HTC_Europe_2.07.401.1_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.91" ROM from HTC site, then reflashed with "Energy.RHODIUM.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Nov.19" but I still have the same issue
Vodafone and Orange? I through it was Orange and T-mobile that were merging? Every time I turn my phone back on or come out of flight mode my clock move forward 1 or 2 hours... If I don't change the time, the coverage work but if I set it back to the normal time, the coverage stick only on GMS mode... weird and weirder...

I did, but except from the shock of saying such a poor interface the problem were the same... I got the "HTC Touch Pro2_RUU_Rhodium_S2_HTC_Europe_2.07.401.1_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.91" ROM from http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=250&cat=2&dl_id=913 my own S/N didn't work so I got "ht95tll00196" from the web. Didn't make it any better though...

Stock ROMs come with the stock radios. No need to flash a radio separately.

I haven't heard anything about T-Mobile. Vodafone and Orange aren't merging. They're sharing use of their cell network. Meaning customers of both companies are going to get increased coverage throughout the country. I've been seeing lots of posts about how this is affecting users negatively on the networks, though.

definitely Orange and Tmobile sharing coverage in the UK, I haven't heard about Vodafone:

your link didn't have the Vodafone stock ROM, on the HTC website it would be http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=250&cat=2&dl_id=797 but it's the 1.86.161.1, seriously old...
another day and my data connection doesn't even turn on anymore... No more disconnect from the network tough, just greyed out E connection...

You are correct. I had it backward. It was T-Mobile that teamed up. I didn't check the link I gave as it normally has each ROM for each carrier, so I generally just link it by default. The 1.8.6.161.1 is the latest ROM from Vodafone. You don't need to keep it on the device, you just need to have it return everything to stock conditions and move on from there. It's like working on a fresh, clean slate.
Man, I'm off my game today...
***EDIT*** I believe that I have found the solution to this issue (at least for me) by flashing the FuGuMod Kernel as advised to do by 2 users (jetrii and slyydrr) who advised me of this in the following thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487056 on pages 7 and 8 respectively.
This fix may NOT work for you but I can say that it has worked for me. Please see post #33 (and onward) in this thread.
I have painstakingly been trying to find a solution to this issue and it SEEMS as if I have FINALLY found one so if I have helped you in any way then I ask that you please press the "Thanks" button and please visit the thread above and say thanks to jetrii and slyydrr as well. I also recommend that if this works for you that you go to the FuGuMod thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1438417 and pay tribute to nikademus for his kernel!!! I know I sure have... Also... Make SURE that you flash the correct kernel version for your ROM ie: 4.0.3 ROM = 4.0.3 Kernel, etc...
Thanks...
Hi everyone,
I have decided to start a fresh thread here as I have seen (and replied to) many threads regarding people with the GSM version of the GNEX (like I have) that are suffering from random signal loss of both data and GSM services for apparently NO REASON.
If you are also experiencing these issues I ask that you please post them here so that they are easy to follow and I also ask for anyone with ANY answsers to please post them here as well. Also... Please post what firmware you are running and any steps you have tried to fix this issue be them a failure or a success. I have done the following...
I am currently on the FoxHound v1.0 AOSP 4.0.3 firmware and experience these random signal drops. I have flashed NUMEROUS radios / modems to try and fix this with no success. I had been told by someone that the issue MAY be a BUG in the 4.0.3 AOSP ROMS but I have a hard time believing this as some people do NOT experience these same issues while on 4.0.3 ROMS.
What did work was to flash to the Android Revolution 4.0.2 ROM and on this I do NOT experience these random drops which COULD mean that the problem DOES lie in the AOSP builds of 4.0.3 but again... I have a difficult time believing this but it could be true. Also... Stock firmware (4.0.1) for me here in Canada does not experience these random signal losses either.
This is very annoying as I want to run the 4.0.3 custom ROMS for their customization capabilities, etc but I cannot keep my device in a USABLE state when on 4.0.3 so I have to go back to my trusty SGSII.
Again, please post here to voice your concerns and opinions on this and perhaps SOMEONE will be able to find us a solution.
Thanks,
are you using your carrier supplied radio?

Yup. Im on UGKL1 which is the radio that shipped on my device. I have also tried other radios (XXKL1, UGKK7, XXKG6, etc) as I mentioned as well and I still experience the same issue and others have mentioned the same things as well with no successes.
There was this one time that I had lost signal randomly (while on stock unmodified out of the box ICS) but I was able to get it back with a factory reset. After that it never happened to me again.

Thanks for the comment. May I ask what Radio your device has on it? Are you running any sort of custom ROM now? If so, what are you running?
Right now the radio is KK6 (im on stock yakju 4.0.2 now) but at the time it was what came with the phone (shipped from Rogers)

Hmmmm... Interesting... You got an OTA update to 4.0.2? I have seen other posts that people here in Canada are complaining that they have not received ANY OTA updates at all... When did you get this?
Since I have been on a custom ROM I have not seen this update obviously...
I'm on GSM with Rogers as well. I haven't noticed any significant signal drops with the exception of my basement (no cell phones get signal there - its a fortress lol). I am on 4.0.3 as well. I have read that the 4.0.4 has improved radio... so it may be worth looking into. I saw a WIP 4.0.4 GSM Rom here.
I've been experiencing this as well. I'll have a great signal, then suddenly it totally disappears, and after a few seconds the signal comes back. It's even happened during voice calls as well. I experienced this on the stock device (4.0.1). I'm now using the GummyNex rom on 4.0.3 (w/ a stock radio), and I'm still experiencing these random signal loses. (T-mobile USA in NYC, btw).
It's not a constant problem, but it happens a few times a day. enough to be an mild annoyance.

Hmmmmm... I ONLY seem to get these signal drops on 4.0.3... Weird... You have a GSM device right? Not CDMA - LTE?
I found something new to try when I get home but if anyone may want to try it now and post your results it would be very helpful and appreciated.

I THINK I am experiencing this. My phone keeps going from H+ to 3G non stop at the top. How can you tell if your signal is being dropped? (sorry new to this) I've seen posts with a network screen? showing connection but I can't seem to find this.
Haven't had any issues as far as that. There were times when I was using the browser and it said network error but everything still worked.

You will notice because the signal bars icon will go "completely blank" and for example... If you are on your lockscreen and you can see the name of your provider...It will disappear completely for a couple of seconds and then come back...
No I guess I am not experiencing this. I'm not exactly sure what the difference between H+ and 3G is but my phone seems to stay in 3G until it transfers data, when its transferring data, it goes into H+, then back into 3G. Maybe this is normal. I was just curious because I did flash Yakju and the radios when i bought it.

Well, when I first flashed 4.0.1 yakju I got notifications of being able to upgrade it OTA. However, at the time I must of messed something up when I flashed it because the updates werent successful when I went to update it. So I got fed up with it and I flashed 4.0.2 manually via fastboot.

So I flashed this radio and I get SOMEWHAT better stability but it only accesses the EDGE network and NO 3G/H... Guess this is a no go too...
HD Rom, Latest build.
Radio - XXKK6
Had the stock radio with the HD Rom, and thought that my random lost connections on market were due to my not flashing the recommended radio. Flashed the recommended radio (current), and still experienced them. Signal is better, and oddly enough voice doesn't get lost. Phone doesn't show that there is no signal, in fact it is at 3 bars on H.
Edit: I use a regional carrier, that doesn't list APN settings. By leaving APN type blank, I seemed to have solved the problem. Also dramatically increased the signal strength (Using Network Signal app).

What is the name of this network signal app? Developers name and what does it do exactly?
Hey guys, I'm new to this rooting business. Just managed to pluck up the courage to root my desire HD after 3 months of researching.
It was Orange Branded and had been up to date with firmware.
I used AAHK to downgrade and S-OFF.
At this stage, eveything was perfect, the sim unlock worked and mobile + wifi reception were absolutely fine just like before it was rooted.
I then flashed Leedroid 5.1, including the patch to regain the mobile network signal.
Since then, my wifi signal has totally shot down. Even if I am a couple of feet away, it drops to nothing, and when I am closer, it seems to not hold any strength. I have flashed the lastest radio _12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28 and corresponding RIL but it makes no difference.
The mobile signal is brilliant, but I can no longer usse my WIFI round my house, letalone the adjacent room. I can't even pick up my neighbours routers, which my phone was easily capable of doing before I put Leedroid 5.1 on my phone.
I have searched for hours and hours on these boards, google and Leedroids thread, but I couldn't find any answers.
I love the ROM, but I feel like I will have to revert to a stock rom.
Now, sorry if the answers obvious, but I want to make sure it's possible.
Can I revert back to a non customised version of sense/gingerbread without affecting the sim unlock on my phone? I don't mind if I lose root, as the use of WIFI on my phone is extrmely important, and I only really wanted to root my phone to sim unlock it. Will i need to S-On?
Will I have to mess around with the radio's again if I revert back to stock firmware as I had changed them for Leedroid 5.1? (would it be possible to revert to unbranded firmware rather than the Orange firmware that was originally on my phone?)
And if the above is possible, where can I find the original rom, and can I use ROM Manager to install it?
Just an update. I just unrooted my phone to an unbranded WWE gingerbread rom using AAHK. It didn't make a difference to the WIFI signal problem as it was still weak....
Then I noticed the battery cover was not fully clicked in on one end... As soon as I clicked it in, WIFI strength shot up to full bars!
I just can't believe I unrooted my phone over something so simple after only having rooted it for one day
Ah well. Atleast I got rid of the Orange bloatware and unlocked the phone
So just a lesson guys, make sure the battery cover is fully clicked in if you're having WIFI signal issues.
I'm in UK with a unlocked HTC10 from carphone warehouse, on the ThreeUK network.
Recently I've noticed that I no longer connect to 4g other than a few very rare occasions.
The only changes,
1. full update to the latest OS
2. I removed the sim card and put it into an old phone, when I re-inserted it into the HTC I got "network updates" which I accepted.
Things I have done after verifying mobile network/data is set to AUTO
1. delete all APN
2. reset APN to details available on my carrier website
3. Settings >backup+reset>network settings reset.
The odd thing is very occasionally it does decide it likes LTE and it works fine.. but its rare.. even if I do a reboot or toggle airplane mode.... the second I remove the sim card and put it into my old phone I have LTE, so it really isn't a signal issue.
My network have suggested a factory reset, but I am not rooted and have game data among other things that are impossible to backup. so at this stage I would rather not .
totally flummoxed by this one!!! any help or suggestions appreciated...

possible solutions:
- get new sim card
- hard reset done inside stock recovery
Sent from my hTc 10
Thanks.
I got a bit of time today, so did a factory reset.. same error still.. and again I put the sim in my old phone and bang 4g straight away..
in the HTC if I leave it in a strong signal position for several minutes I can see 4g occasionally pop up, but if I walk away from the window it goes again, even though I get 4g through the whole house on my old phone, and did on the htc when I first got it.
Actually thinking theres a hardware fault now.. bit of a strange one.. but looks like i'll have to return the phone tomorrow. we can try a different sim first in the shop
Just an update.
I spoke several times to HTC, one ran through basic resets with me no change (hardly surprising as I've already done a hard reset). this agent "sent through" details for return item for fix.. but these took days to arrive so in the meanwhile thinking they were lost I phoned again.
This agent was going to send me a email with lots of settings changes to try... this email never arrived....
Now since then I've done a lot of research online, and found that there are quite a few sites saying the htc10 on the new software has LTE issues, poor signal dropping signal etc.. IE it is my error, so why did htc support not know this? I wonder if its generic media articles or actually a "known" fault... its so hard to search here as both 4G and LTE are too short search terms..
Now Do I bother to send it back to them and be without my phone for a couple weeks?? if its software then surely they cannot do anything... I wonder how long until the next OTA update that may fix this if I just wait it out??
Really don't know what to do, I rely on my phone a lot, 4G isn't really "needed", but I do find the 3g signal is quite poor around a lot of areas I used to get good 4G.

Thanks, I'm currently on 2.41.401.3
I have good 4g on my old phone (now sold), and this htc10 was better when I first got it, now its aweful,
Can you link me the exact software youre using? I'm very new to the HTC, I assumed the europ unlocked software would be the same as USA? but I don't get Volte or Wifi calling on 3uk..
I use mirrorlink quite a lot, and like the HTC software, so i'm keen to keep on a stock rom so I can use android pay as well etc.. or is your rom custom/rooted etc? Sorry to pester, you're the first threeuk customer on this phone I've come across. any extra details/information would be awesome thanks.

My phone is rooted, head over to the viper 10 page on here its a custom rom... If you get an RUU exe file you can install
617 firmware and stock rom and will have working volte, inside my home i have 4g lte connection so its about 60mb download speed, no joke on 3!!!! Lol with an RUU you will lose ALL data so back up on pc and move back over afterwards, any more questions or if i was clear PM me
So a bit of an update.. I chickened out of a software change... So got the sim changed, no difference, gotthe phone sent for repair, they updated to 401.4 but no change.. rang again, and we tried setting to 4G only using the service menu, and bop 4G signal just fine.. so it genuinely is a software bug in 7.0, the stupid thing is I had one bar at 3G, I swapped to 4g only and had 5bars!!!!! so it wasn't even like it was favouring the strongest signal.. just a shame I cannot receive phonecalls on 4g, so I need to leave it set to auto and just accept until they sort it that I rarely get 4g.. but at least I now know if I need 4g at any point I can go to the service menu and swap to 4g temporarily. he sounded like there have now been like a few reports of this, so hopefully HTC take it on board and push a software update promptly. he suggested 3-4weeks as a potential timescale, I suspect he meant months.. but fingers crossed

When you were having this problem was Chrome allowing you to access some sites, but on others saying that the DNS server could not be reached? If its same problem that you are having I can't use your work around as it's difficult to get a 4G signal where I live.

Sounds like you're having a different issue, assuming you have a data connection, and each website has no server issues, or the ISP isn't blocking the site(usually they'd say not a DNS error) then one site should load as easy as another, I have these exact same issues when I have ad-blockers enabled on certain sites (some you'd expect to work).. do you run a blocker of any form? try disabling it and trying again on that website..

No ad blocker.
I tried a variation of your solution and made the phone only connect to 3G or lower which seems to have solved the issue even when I switch back to 4G, hopefully it's not just a coincidence. Thanks for your advice.
Three UK user here, just tried the service menu 4G force and that seems to work for me, I shall see how it goes. Good for dead spot testing
So a few days later: Leaving it on means 4G pretty much everywhere I go but the obvious downside is no calls even through the ThreeInTouch app. Bit of a downer so back to watching it sit on 4G until I want to actually use it then it goes 'Hey let me check jump back to regular H for you'
