I've been insired by the Dialer Skins found on BuzzDev.net (just wish they'd hurry up and send me the e-mail to complete the join process so I can get the other skins)...
I'm working on a way to change the skins without having to mess with 100 registry keys each time.
If there is interest, I'll post the app and some sample skins here.
Biggest problem right now is that to apply the skin you must soft reset your phone. If anyone knows a way around this, let me know. Also anyone who has addition dialer settings that can be manipulated via registry send them to me for addition into the App.

Bob, I'm down with beta testing if you need someone.
Sounds great. I have a PPC6700 with WM5 and right now it's a huge pain to switch dialer skins. A soft reset is a MINOR inconvenience.

You need to change the file code from .JPG into .TSK first though. I had to do this to be able to upload as the website dont like .tsk files.

Wondered if there was a hack or a way to get the phone to start up to the compact clock.
I'm sure there must be a way, but have had a quick look around, and haven't managed to find it anywhere...

The HTC Wildfire [BUZZ] has a new HTC Caller ID feature which shows facebook status and birthday on the contact picture when they call, this is shown in the youtube link @ 2:22 [youtube. com/watch?v=huppHZ7ZeQ8]
I was wondering if it was possible to port this to my Hero?
I have downloaded the RUU_Buzz_H3G_UK_1.16.771.2_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_131501_signed.exe from shipped-roms. com/shipped/Buzz/ and extracted the rom.zip. I used unyaffs to extract the system.img and had a look in the data folder but i cannot for the life of me figure out where or how this new feature is???
Has anyone got any ideas on this??

Not sure about how to port myself, but I know people who can do it.
I would take a stab at it being in HtcDialer.apk or Phone.apk or Dialer.apk (i think it will be the first one, as i think phone/dialer are vanilla filenames, but I can't remember for sure)
If you post them, maybe someone can look at changing the package tags, though i guess it will need more than just those changed.
Probably will need other code added, unless it would work on a friendstream 2.1 WWE ROM??? IIRC some stuff was added to Villain 12 which could help with facebook etc. but I have no idea if that helps or not. Might be a big hassle, but if someone who can port tries, we can see...

I have tried pushing the apks to my VillainROM 12 with no success, once i replace the stock apks and press the phone button on rosie to open the dialler all i get is a popup message saying phone and no dialler.
I have attached the apks which may have this New HTC Caller ID feature in them if someone wishes to take a look??

i dont think it is gonna be so easy, wildfire has a tattoo resolution, so everything looks bad on our screens... i just ported the wildfire rom to hero, so it has a different keyboard with language selection button, but it is very very small hehe, otherways i think it looks like legend rom... have not noticed if there is a different facebook picture in calling, because i dont use the rom, wanted to just check it out.

it's just a rough port, to see how it looks like, it is bad resolution and i really dont know what is working and what is not... so i dont know...
if you really want i can upload it somewhere so you can play with it...
Well i use MiUI-Osimood Rom i dont know if that makes a diffrence but i want to figure out if you can disable to smiley faces during sms messages its nota bigdeal but it does look unprofessional & it just annoys me so if anyone knows how to disable it or know a way to make it not happen id be happy to hear
& OffTopic ; does anyone know how to turn autocap off on the physical keyboard when using Virtu Sense Rom ? just curious , thanks to anyone who helps !
