The keyboard is a chinese/english hybrid. It can write in bot modes. It's quite colourful compared to stock keyboards. The best option is getting gingerbread Keyboard from the market, then you can set it for spanish imput (ñ is working)
Tomeuuuuuu yesssssss, you can try the tenfar rooted one, but dont forget to install google zip in the process! It must be installed from the custom recovery.
1- Install 2.2 rooted nandroid
2- Wipe data
3- Install google apps zip
4- Flash via RSDlite the 2.2 boot
Okay! thanks for the help!

barbones how to flash ??
i tried barbones .. phone does not boot
Getting it to work..
I'll tell you what I did, try to follow from where you missed:
1. rooted using super one click method
2. Installed clockworkmod recovery (tenfars)
3. Installed recovery in Clockwork mod recovery
4. Rebooted in recovery by choosing the option in Clockworkmod recovery
5. flashed the Nordic 3.4.2.155 nandroid...
6. While rebooting press Power+Volume-
7. let RSD lite recognize your phone
8. Flash 3.4.2_155 fixed sbf...
9. Phone will boot into nordic 2.2
10. Install clockwork mod recovery again.
11. Reboot into recovery (step 4), install update from zip (barebones 1.4) and voila...
To install 1.5 I just flashed the 3.4.2_177 nandroid and then Barebones 1.5...
I believe you must have missed flashing the sbf...

1. The best way to do this is using Titanium Backup (Pro). You can find it in the Market
2. You can install ROM Manager, or reboot into recovery (by holding volume - on boot) and flash a new ROM there.
3. MIUI has it's own kernel, so no, and if you don't want to install a new radio you don't need to have Radio S-off

It seems that the Market doesn't recognise your phone, maybe you haven't connected your phone to the Market now that it is on MIUI? Why don't you try to download Angry Birds from the Market on your phone?
need an answer here please,
i tried that too but the same, when i search "angry birds" but nothing appears.
no angry bird available to me to download.
i have this problem since i flashed MIUI, but when i was rooted and have original HTC sense it was available to me to download.
I tried to install MIUI on my phone. After I installed the zip and rebooted I was stuck on the "M" logo for ages! I tried to go to the stock recovery and factory reset but that did not help. Also now the blue L.E.D does not show up any more so I can't get to the boot menu.
What should I do? I'm scared. Should I flash a stock rom? But how do i do that?
Helppp
Just had to flash it.

I‘m a chinese vegetablebird,my english is bad,I'm sorry for that,if you can't understand what I say,just ignore this message.
For your question,I think it may based on deodex?
I deodexed my MIUI system, and replace the apps and framework/ in MIUI.zip, but it doesn't work. But I still can see bootmenu.
now you can't see bootmenu, you have to flash one Full SBF(I don't konw how to name it in English sorry.).
After that ,you may wipe first, and then install the MIUI.zip,Look out, don't wipe after installed MIUI.zip.
maybe it can't help you, just have a try......
Try to back from start (Flash full SBF).

Hi guys,
i'm reading everthing I find since this morning trying to find out exactly what I have to do in order to install CM7 or CM9.
I have a green lence Defy with 2.1 (2.51.1).
I have rooted my phone with SuperOneClick and then
I installed 2ndInit Recovery Installer v2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032212).
Now, I would like to install CM7 but it seems that I should first install a 2.2 ROM before. Is it still the case today or can I immediatly install a CM7 ROM ?
Is it possible to use the dual boot tool with Android 2.1 ? So that I could install CM7 as virtual system and keep my sms, contacts and apps on my real system ?
Should I use RSD Lite or can I use the bootmenu to install CM7 ?
I'm lost so your help is really wlecome.
Thank you all for your help !

You can't use Dualboot with Eclair 2.51-1. Try to save your Apps with Titanium Backup, Appmonster or else. Your contacts should be saved if you use Gmail. Otherwise try My Phone Explorer as example. So your SMS should be saved this way too. After that flash Froyo 2.2 using RSD Lite.
Root Froyo with Gingerbreak or Superoneclick and install SndInit again. You can now install CM7 using Recovery.

Hi there,
my mother in law is pretty upset with her Gio. She complains that it always has slowdowns and there are to many useless apps on it.
Therefore I want to get her a Custom Rooted Rom.
She mainly does:
-Of course, telephone
-Use Whats App
-Use SMS
-Wants to use a E-Mail-Client
-Use the camera
-Listens to music
Therefore I am looking for a custom Rom which lets me delete all the Useless Roms and improves the speed and the battery life of her phone. If it has a better launcher design which is not as "boring" as the one on her phone this would be a huge plus.
She uses Android 2.3.6 which is not bounded to a provider.

Since you doesn't have root or custom recovery, you can't use the "programs" WYPIERDAALAAC said. One way to backup your stuff is to use a program called Ultimate Backup Tool. This program doesn't need root or custom recovery. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux. Try it, and then reply how it went!
Thank you very much.
Now I need a Guide to install the Rom, where Can I get it?

If you wanna install Enhanced236 (the most bugfree one), you need to install install cwm, Clock Work Mod, first. How to:
1. Make sure that you have fully charged your battery.
2. You need to download the ext4only 5.0.2.0 cwm version, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650.
3. After you have downloaded the zip, you go into recovery mode, in this case stock recovering. You do that by holding The Home Button + Power Button until the recovery gets visible.
4. Then you do click on the Apply update from sdcard, and select the cwm zip.
5. After you have flashed the zip, you should reboot your device. Here's a YouTube video on the installation process: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxjxB8P9rSU
6. After you have done that, I recommend you to take a nandroid backup. The backup will be stored on your sdcard, so you can copy the backup to your computer if you want to, just in case.
Now you have installed CWM. Let's install the ROM!
7. Download the enhanced236 from this thread. Copy the zip to the root of your sd-card, and then go into CWM. Wipe data/factory reset. After that, wipe the cache partition. NOTE! This will erase everything you have done on your phone, so make sure that you have a backup ready! After that, click on the install zip from sd-card, choose the enhanced236_06.08.2012.zip and flash it. Just follow the instructions that pops up, and then restart your phone. Leave it booting/waiting for like 5 min, and then start touching/configure the device. After doing the necessary configuring, wait another minute. And reboot. And then it's done! Wohooooo.. :victory:
Hope you like your new custom ROM! And if you have any questions, just ask! I'm glad to help!

X-Zone
With your help I managed to install a custom Rom, thank you very Much.
I installed Cyangemod 7 Beats Music Edition.
Unfortunately I think I made a mistake in the backup. These are the files the backup gave me: IMAGE
-With this files and the files with are still on the phone is there any change to restore her contacts?
-Additionaly she has problem with handling her Phone connected to the PC as a Mass Storage Device. Is there any (free) German software which syncs the Music, Images, Videos more easily with her phone?
My mother in law is not very good with PC, therefore the more simple the software is the better.
Thank You very much
