What is this exactly? Where did you get this system build from? It looks like stinebd's stock build, which i label as "reference" since its untouched.

Hmm, just got back into town and see the bashing continues. Reef, did you actually download and examine my file to come to this conclusion? I will take the high road here since I did appreciate Reef's dedication to this project. Thanks Serren & lordstrife for my back. This is my last post on these forums walking away disgusted.

I've been running Xdandroid for 3 months. I don't remember when I updated to 2.2..I believe it was July. All of my IPhone Geekers are asking me how to Jailbreak there devices(I haven't got a clue and don't plan on it). It is great work here and I am excited, looking forward to continuos great work. Positive injection..

Good. We are all disgusted when people steal things and try to claim them as their own.
Maybe if you said where it came from, how you put it together, or highlighted HOW it's different from other builds that are already posted, we would be MUCH more receptive... But from your first post, it just looks like you stole it and tried to pass it off as something you built. That is just shameful, and will NOT be tolerated on this forum.

I didnt see any claim of ownership, unless the post was edited.
A history of the files and such of course would be helpful. And credit given to those who actually created the files is a no-brainer.
But still, I know XDA is the "big leagues", but cant we be a bit nicer? For all we know, this guy could be the next big thing. Just saying...

he edited his first post saying that he has a working froyo he never said it was his but it looked like it since he hasn't given any credit to whomever that build belongs to

in the OP he said it was not reef's build. He's not taking credit, but he's not giving it either, which is probably what bothered most of the people in this thread.

WTF EC05 in the developer section

So let me get this straight, there is now a developer that has EC05, but you have to register to get it. I tried and get Access denied when trying to download. On a side note EC05 has been released and there aren't 10 mirrors up of it yet? I don't know what is going on with the politics over there, I don't really care or follow it that closely. But what I do know is when I hear that an operating system is leaked I come here to get it. All of a sudden that's not going to happen any more without hoops to jump through, registration and a nag screen for a donation? I wonder if the guys in the Evo forums put up with this am-mature hour BS?

Unfortunately, I've seen this happen everywhere. It is not a Samsung and/or Epic specific issue... Find it hard to believe that with all the different ROM.s for Evo that there isn't the occasional crap about who took what from whom without credit (not that this is this problem). Here, we have someone who got a leak from an inside source and to protect the source, he's done things somewhat differently. Do I agree, well not really sure...I don't want to register to get something (and he is NOT charging) but then again, I had to register to post and get stuff here... So, not that big of a deal. I'm totally happy with ViperRoms BUT I understand what Mammon88 has done and why...but I can see XDA's point too. Just the latest round of politics! If not this, then it would be something else.

Either the stock or bonsai needed off it will work at this point. I'm just shocked that politics are causing a delay in EC05 stock to be put up on these forums. After all it's already OTA at this point. At this point I'll probably wait until tomorrow for an update.zip. I just figured by history it would have already been made available.

Mammon88 can't release the EC05 he has because the digital fingerprints are on the file which would lead back to the person who leaked it in the first place. So the only way to get stock EC05 is to wait for Sprint's release. Glad I'm running Bonsai 4.0.0 right now as I don't want to wait.

just to be honest here, if Mammon can remove the 'fingerprint' from the leaked copy, and put it on Bonsai 4.0, then why can't he release the stock version, fingerprint removed? Didn't he already attempt to do this, but the thread was shut down due to linking to the Bonsai site, which requires registration (not that a mirror is still in the locked thread anyways)? Im pretty sure the registration process does not remove said fingerprint itself.
I have to point out that I think he/they have the right to do WHATEVER they want with the leaked version, as it's not open source, it's a leak... BUT, the whole website membership business is disappointing, yes, it seems just an inconvenience, but if there is/will be paid premium support... it really doesn't belong on here, then does it? Honestly I am just sick of the drama, and apologetics for this whole thing, and I cant imagine what would have happened had it been Noobnl who had the leak, and then proceeded to make such a process... half the members would be asking for his head, no? I was just out at the Sprint store the other day talking about just this same thing. Decided to wait a week or so and see what else falls out of the tree. Sprint has lots of new android stuff coming out in the next few weeks.

Mammon and Randy font owe anything to you guys on here. If you can't take 2 mins to register to get a FREE download that they spent HOURS doing then you shouldn't have it. Be a little more appreciative of what people do.

I tried registering, and when I try to download I get a access denied page. All I want is the leak I didn't need him to do anything to it. I'm appreciative of the devs, don't get me wrong. But the politics that have started to affect peoples experience with what the devs offer is getting out of control.

Politics aren't causing anything. Maybe you didn't mean to come across the way you did but it comes across as "entitled". Bonsai is NOT based on the OTA. They don't have it. There is NOTHING to leak as you put it. If it was then we could flash the modem and not be required to odin. To the best of my knowledge the OTA hasn't hit yet. When it does you will see the posts start popping up. Until either be patient or use one of the EC05 ROMs already available.

Guys please go about your morning. Drink your coffee smoke your butts and relax. The OTA is coming sooner then later. Trust me when I tell you, your phone will function about the same. All this hxoopla over a OTA is comical at best.

Absolutley ridicilous. You all need to chill out relax. And respect the devs who bring you these roms for free. You act like its owed to you or something. Do u not realize these devs do this on there dime in there own time. Relaaaaaaaaaax. Be patient. This has become so ridicilous no one has respect or appreciates wha they do. After you register you will receive an email. There is a link in there you have to click on to activate your account and enable posting and downloading.

First off developers do this as a hobby not a job. They don't get paid for it. Usually ROM updates follow stock updates such as to EC05 or adding voodoo sound and color. So if there is nothing new to add then what would you have them do?
If you have a specific request you can go to development of the ROM you have donated to and request that feature. The other option is to feel free to work on a ROM in your spare time.
Trying to be as nice as possible, you will get some nasty comments from some people.

Ya i know all that, believe me its not my first time doing all this stuff. ha. I was just hoping to get some replies from the developers of the roms. But ya i probably should just contact the actual developers.

Yes, I would PM the developers and see what's up. FYI Bonsai will be releasing a new beta in the coming weeks for donors to test and Rodderick told me he is releasing a new Genocide kernel in the coming weeks.

the first phrase highlighted and the second highlighted phrase directly contridict each other, and that is whats crappy about this community. it used to all be for fun. donation buttons should be banned.
and dont call me a non donator either. ive donated to bonsai lately (or tribal knowledge lmtd. as donators would know it) and many other devs in the past. it should NEVER be a requirement for service though.

You are right, it is not a requirement for service, however it should never be requested for Devs to give up their life and time for free to make ROM hungry people happy. I gladly donate to the kernel and ROM devs whose product I find the best and feel no shame in pm'ing them about future products. If ROMs don't come out fast enough for some people they should learn to make their own ROMs. I see too many ungrateful people in these threads that ***** and whine but don't donate as if the DEVs are getting paid by XDA to develop ROMs and we as registered users somehow deserve them.
That's all I am saying. Don't want to turn this into some kind of service/donate debate.

with 2.3 looming, its doubtful any updates with be done. Besides; how much better can they get them??

Yes, I think they are all waiting to get a copy of the source code for 2.3. My phone is ridiculously fast and stable so I am happy right now.

there are always new roms to me ... i almost never look up newer ones until the one i have limits me somehow or i accidentally do the sprint update and my phone crashes

I can't wait for a 2.3 leak.

Im getting my touch on Monday and am super excited to see root, but having come from an Epic 4G (horrible community) plagued with people selling roms, closed threads and trolling..
I just dont want to see that happen here with this phone.
Perhaps the name *epic* is jinxed.
If I could request one thing, that would be to post a direct link here in the OP.

It is against the rules to link to a site where you are required to register to download. You don't for the ACS site, so it doesn't break any rules.

^this, we do it because we have adsense up. i know its kinda sleazy but acs gives its devs phones to work with, like for instance my new photon came from adsense revenue from my work on teh prevail/replenish. so is it an underhand technique to make some money off of work? yea... like its stated we dont require registration.

I threw up a amazon store on the domain for now.. I'd rather be using it for more root/rom phone related stuff. if anyone has any suggestions or any devs wanting to put their roms on there let me know. Im a web designer so all you really have to do is provite the content. if you're interested pm me or have a better idea for it, let me know that too
another idea I had with it was a wordpress type blog with posts for each new rom, comments sections for each post and also a rating system for polls and each rom. by the time I would get all this started would it be pointless as theres already an LG G2 out?

I can't tell you what to do with it. I can tell you, though, I couldn't figure out for a while what that gibberish before the .com meant.
