Hi All,
Anybody know how licensing is handled in the location app in desire HD? For example I have a vodafone branded desire HD and wanting to flash to one of the custom ROM will I loose this license? or I need to do a backup of the location app too make sure I still have the license.
Thanks
The locations app is stored on your sd card along with the maps and licence. If you need to reinstall license for some reason you can open locations, menu, upgrade, menu, sync license.

Thank's that's exactly what I'm looking for
Hello,
I can add that, I talk on the phone to HTC support and that "apparently" that's right, everything is stored on the SD card.
Does someone really test? because I do not want to lose the license purchased during an update, for example ...
However, little questions:
- If you make a copy of the file from the SD card do you think if one day we change phone (to buy another HTC) HTC Locations will work with this copy ?
- Do you know what "code sharing" on HTC Locations ?
Thank you all.
HTC uses the IMEI to validate de HTC Locations license.
I bought the safety camera license. I changed my phone from a HTC Desire HD to a HTC Sensation. I contacted HTC Support and they said that i have to buy again. It is not possible to change my license to my new phone.
Hi all..recently my desire has been having problems with the camera..Initally i am using Defrost 6.1a with no problems..Pictures and videos taken with it are working fine until 2 days ago..
when i take pictures and capture a video..i am able to view it inside the phone..but once i mount it via usb to pc...the pictures and videos are gone!i tried looking at all the folders inside DCIM but could not find it...once unmounted...the pictures and videos are also not found in the phone gallery any more...
I tried to reformat sd card(had a ext3 partition) and also upgraded to GV1.9 but the problem still persisted. Before defrost,i had used other roms as well..
Advice is greatly appreciated..thanks!
HMM.an update..under ASTRO,i am able to see the pictures and videos...but once mounted to pc..i cannot see it anymore!googled it and found similar scenerios to it..but no solutions...formatting does not work either..any solutions?
another qn..if i were to backup all apps(incl system apps) but did not restore them when moving into another rom..were it still impact anything?
Htc Desire
hey just once remove your htc desire software from computer completely with all the profile and settings. Once you remove the htc desire software just restart you PC and reinstall thehtc desire application in your computer.
Now connect your phone to computer and select the option of phone mode in your phone that will be in your connectivity option of settings menu.

Hey rubu i am using htc desire hd and i have same problem which resolve with the help of your suggestion its really nice to you and i really thankful to you. Thanks again.
Just opened my new phone, I originally had a HTC HD2, Had 32Gb sd card, dual boot and such.
I have apps on it that i loaded to it via pc, will I be able to transfer those apps to my OneX, if so, by what means, any help would be great ty
I guess u could use Tatanium backup for this.Use backup on ur HD2 & then copy the files to Hox & restore
I'd grab my backup pro and make a backup with no app data and upload the zip file to dropbox and download it to the hox. Or drop the zip file on a pc and plug in hox and grab it. Use mybackup pro to reinstall

Alternatively, if you have the apks saved to your pc. Just connect the One X via usb & copy the apps to the built in SD card. Then just reinstall them as normal.
do u realise there is a transfer app on the one x?
Hi there
I have recently switch my old HTC One S with an HTC One M9+ Supreme camera edition and I have used the HTC transfer tool program (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.dnatransfer.legacy&hl=it) to send my old data on the One S to the One M9+ SC.
Anyway it seem to me that the tool generated a problem, as you can see here from a file manager screen:
basically there are 2 folder with insde the exact same stuff and, as file manager hd state, they both occupied 16Gb. Anyway I don't know if this is accurate. Any suggestions?
Hi,
Scouring the web there seems to be inherent problems transferring data between the HTC One M8 and a PC.
I have a Mac OS X El Capitan and HTC Sync Manager does work but only after a reboot, is there a permanent fix now?
Thanks
What are you trying to transfer? I don't ever use HTC Sync Manager to transfer anything. Just select in the notifications to allow file transfer via USB, and you should be able to view the internal storage on your Mac, and copy/paste the files just using the OS.
