Handset -> Bluetooth A2DP -> FM Transmitter -> Car Radio?

I would like to know if there is a device out there that will receive a bluetooth A2DP signal from my handset, then transmit the audio over FM so I can listen to it in my car?
I think this sort of thing is my only option as my car radio does not have an auxilery connection, aslo using a mini USB to 3.5mm jack is not an option as my handset is always cradled and charging in the car.
Any ideas?

I had discovered this item in search a couple of months ago, however I haven't tried since it is almost as expensive as a new radio!

I'm now thinking about disconnecting the tape input on my radio and using it as an auxiliary for my phone...

Thanks that was pretty much what I was after, however you are right it is expensive. For that price I reckon I could pick a head unit with an auxilery input quite easily if not bluetooth built in.

Try Parrot PMK5800.I use it on my Kaiser.No more than $100.00 on Ebay. Works very well on my car FM Radio.

I had the previous version of it, the very first one they launched, which did not have A2DP yet, only BT phone calls. My experienced was pretty ugly with the quality of the mic as well as the quality of the FM sound. But it seems from various on-line review they have improved the product significantly.
The device posted above (Venturi Mini) is more superior in my opinion, it closes all of the gaps the satechi device had. I just looked at it, and wow.. this answers all of my previous concerns with the Satechi device: Caller ID (very smart thought to transmist it to the radio display, which almost FM radio has), phone book, audio out!
If the mic quality is good, then this device is perfect!

All of these devices will do the job, just a little more expensive than I would have hoped for, ideally they wouldnt have a handsfree option as I already use a Parrot CK3300 for that (with GPS).

There are about 6 brands out there that I've found so far, however I'm not sure which is the best at this point.

Jabra BT320s
I recently bought a Jabra BT320s from orange accessories for under a tenner. This looks like a small MP3 player which has a 3.5mm jack for headphones (they supply you with a basic set but you can use any headphones you like). I had a small FM transmitter with a 3.5mm jack for the car which transmits to the radio.
I wondered what would happen if I used a2dp to the bt320S and plugged the transmitter into the BT320s jack.....well it worked! My wizard was playing over bluetooth(stereo) to the transmitter then FM to the radio. Quality? Not fantastic but it did work OK. The headset and transmitter hide out of the way in my armrest.
All for about 15 quid (not including wizard and car stereo)

FM transmitter.

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows any good, cheap FM transmitters that would work for the HTC EVO. My car doesn't have blue tooth so I need to buy one of these! Obviously, the main reason I'm getting one of these is for music.
If anyone has one, tell me about it.

Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, don't waste your money. I've tried a bunch and they are all terrible.
The only good ones are the ones that are hardwired to the antenna.

if you can find one, I bought one of the generic white ones that is similar to the tunecast 2. But it was made in china. I took it apart to do the antenna mod that you can do with the tunecast 2 and sure enough there was a pots inside. When i adjusted it I could pick really good. If you want something that will broadcast you can try the digital transfmitter from c crane. I have heard good things about it.

I have the Motorola t 505 Bluetooth fm transmitter. It's an ok fm transmitter. I wish it had a stronger fm signal... living in nyc, there aren't too many good empty stations to use..... another downside to the t 505 is the price.... I think its still a bit high.

What kind of car do you have, does it have the factory radio in it, if not what make and model stereo is in it?

I'm going to assume the OP has the factory stereo system in his car that does not have a aux in and a blue tooth module.

+1 for the Moto T505. Perhaps due to the fact that my car's FM antenna is built into the rear defroster, my FM reception is typically quite poor with most FM transmitters. However, living in a much less urban area than NYC, I've no problem finding solid FM stations for the T505.

I just got this the other day on a recommendation and all I can is wow, it actually works. You won't be getting concert sound from it but if your deck has no tape/bluetooth/aux this is your best option. And if you don't like it Meritline is great with their returns

+1 here as well. I got the T505 in my car and it rocked - at first. The more and more I use it, the more and more I regret buying it. I'm saving money to buy a stereo deck with Bluetooth built in instead. I live in Chicagoland and even if I do find a clear station you can totally tell the audio quality isn't up to par. Do yourself a favor and get a deck with built in Bluetooth. You'll be much, much happier.

i'm not trying to contest a deck with BT built in, i'm 100% sure that's better, but this works great for me and is dramatically cheaper.
imo, try to t505, if it doesnt work out, return it and save up for a good head unit with bt built in.

Bluetooth FM Transmitter

I'm looking for a FM transmitter for my evo to transmit music in my car. Anyone have any suggestions?

I use a Satechi Soundfly Bluetooth to FM Transmitter - works great ($59.99 from Amazon). I tried several cheaper versions from Ebay that never worked - this one works perfectly.

I have the Motorola T505 and a lot of people recommend it...but I don't...there is a lot of static no matter what radio station I try to tune it to. You can't tune it to a specific station, you can only tune it to the stations the device thinks are good.
So I say stay away from the T505 .

In general I would never use one of these kind of FM modulators because the sound usually isn't that good. But if it's what you want, this one looks excellent: http://www.newpotatotech.com/TUNELINK_ANDROID/tunelink_android.html
The built-in charging port is a nice touch.
It can also connect to your stereo with an auxiliary cable but I suppose since you didn't mention that, your car doesn't have one.

Seems pretty spiffy. I do not have an aux port in my car so I am thinking about trying this thing out as well. If I end up doing it I will post back my findings.

fyi guys none of those fm modulators sound good they are all crap. ive used tons of em. You could do a few things though, one you could always buy a new deck they r cheap and most of em have bluetooth and/or aux. two, i dont know what kind of deck you have but they make aux input jacks that can be integrated into your stock deck for like 79 dollars i had one in my honda that worked like a champ and was really easy to wire up. lastly go for the gusto and not only get an aux input but make your stock deck sound like a nice aftermarket deck give your self both high(wires) and low(rca) outputs(so you can expand your system with amps when u want) the unit costs about 140 and if your decent at wiring its a lot of wires but not to daunting if you take your time and do it step by step. some stock stereo will require installation though.

Right now I am trying the Jabra Cruiser. So far seems to work pretty good for the price. Right now changing out the radio in my car isn't an option. Would like to stay with stock radio for now.

It looks awfully bulky.

The other downside with the tune link device is that you can't answer a phone call through the car speakers. The jabra cruiser and the Motorola t505 have built in mics and a pickup / drop call button so u can make or answer a phone call through the device.

Did you know the chip in the EVO that handles receiving FM is also capable of transmitting FM? They just didn't build the functionality in unfortunately.

So far the cruiser works great. I i drive 25 miles to work and cant tell a difference between it and FM. No static , excellent audio. Well worth the $30 i spent.

I don't know if you've got AUX in on your current deck, but you could use the Nokia BH-214 as a quasi-bluetooth/fm transmitter, but at that point, I don't see why you wouldn't just plug straight into your deck from the phone. I love my BH-214 outside though, it's loud too. See my review on it.
I use BT to my 7" touchscreen deck that works great too, much louder than my USB connection.

+1 for the GOgroove Flexsmart
Best FM transmitter I've ever used and the bluetooth works great. Mics are strong and have excellent noise cancellation.

FM transmitter

Looking for a good FM Transmitter, most of the reviews online I read show poor signal issues.

I love my jabra cruiser. The fm works really well and there are plenty of fm stations to choose from unlike some of the current models.

coby ca 745 fm transmitter...wont let me post link yet, i dont make enough posts to post a link yet apparently lol. you can find it on amazon for 20 bucks and works great. strong signal even on stations that arent entirely clear. extra accessory jack on top alittle loose is the only thing. but for 20 bucks you cant beat it. hope this helps

It is $45 from amazon. A little expensive, but I use it everyday without issue. The hand-free calling is convenient.
If you don't like using bluetooth, you can hook it up with a normal audio (1/8") cable.
It also has a USB port so you can charge your phone at the same time.

In my experience... FM Transmitters work great if you live in a more rural area, with not so many radio stations...
In 2005, when I got my Pontiac G6 GT and it didn't have 3.5mm aux in, I had to get an FM Transmitter to listen to my mp3 player
Even living on the out skirts of Wilmington, DE (not the biggest city). I couldn't just get in the car, set it, and go. I couldn't get a clean frequency that was available everywhere I drove, and I would start hearing static and need to change the frequency the FM Transmitter was using in the car about every 10 or 15 minutes.
Even a belkin with "clearscan" (which is supposed to auto pick a "clean" frequency), and allowed me to step up/down .1 mhz increments didn't help.
It made using an FM transmitter completely useless.
Make sure of the return policy of where you purchase from just in case.

I agree with the above GoGroove suggestion. I love mine!

HTC is launching this with the Evo 4G LTE, it might be worth looking into as long as it supports Bluetooth 3.0 on release. Also, bluetooth is far superior to FM transmitters in terms of quality.

If you need an FM transmitter, then I *highly* suggest a *wired* transmitter. I used to use one in my Ford Explorer with my iPod - it connected to the back of the stereo between the head unit and the antenna (and drew power from the +12V line), and had a switch, so when you used it, it would cut off the car's antenna, so you couldn't get any outside interference even if you wanted to. It also had the best volume and sound, since it was broadcasting directly into the stereo.

If you googled it and you don't see any then probably not. Maybe the manufactures don't think android is worth investing in, the same reason there are way more variety of cases for iPhone than android. Or maybe because there are so many different android phone manufacturers with their own android framework like TW for example. Just guessing though...

Search on ebay, there are a lot of fm transmiters. But none works with the Micro USB because very few phones have audio out in the micro usb (its only 5 pins).
i have tried 2 bluetooth and fm transmiter for iphone and 3 for android and dont have good sound while transmit for blueetooh, have lost of quality. Its better for wire.

I don't know you situation, but cassette adapter is not an option to you? Personally I'm using one to connect my phone and my car stereo. It works pretty well, although the 4th adapter worked with my head unit.

but i want to use pandora like app... so i don't need to make a playlist. just connect the phone and listening from the web.

It´s a BT handsfree wich also have an FM transmitter. I´ve buyed one on amazon a few months ago, for less than half the price served on the official website.
You can pair the phone through BT and then (optionally) send the audio to your FM radio car. Also you can choose in your phone wich audio route (calls, media or both).
Good design and audio quality is good in my opinion. Just one complaint: depending on the city/zone you live, FM frequencies may be oversaturated and this can make noise or static interferences.
