Hey folks,
Im trying to download 2 apps from the market. One is the fidelity investment app. And the other is NFS.
Im click to install them from AppBrain, but when it tries to do the actual download on the phone, I get a popup saying "Item not found".
So my question is, are apps region specific? or phone specific?
I live in the UK, so I wandered if Im not allowed to have these apps.
Or is it a phone compatibility issue?
inbox me and ill send you the NFS app so you can install it manually as i have it as for infedility, which provider are you with
Im with vodafone in the uk.

I have downloaded the yahoomail app from the market a while ago and it was working fine. But since yesterday I am getting a mandatory update for the app from a non market source. That menu keeps popping up and if I cancel that menu the app shuts down. I am wary of installing the non market update because it is literally asking for every permission on the planet including making phone calls and sms, read contact data etc. I can't understand why a mail application needs to have permissions for making phone calls or sms etc.
Can anyone here confirm if they are getting the non market mandatory update for the market released yahoomail app. And see if this is a legitimate update as when downloaded it shows as if it is not from yahoo. The app is unusable nowand even after uninstalling and reinstalling from the market I still keep getting the pop-up menu to download the mandatory non market update which I am reluctant to do unless I am sure it is from yahoo.
The update is automatically popping up from mobiledl.zenfs.com as seen after downloading it and I can't use the yahoomail app now because of not wanting to install the non market mandatory update and is about 2.2mb in size
I have two HTC desire phones both unbranded handsets, unlocked, stock 2.2 Rom and have not rooted the phones and am getting the non market mandatory update on both the handsets when I try to open the official yahoomail app which I had downloaded from the market.

Thanks for the link. Looks like they have pulled the update file as I am no longer getting the update notice and can use the app again now.
Has anyone noticed that not all apps installed on your phone show up in the "Downloads" section of the phone apps. I'm not referring to spoofed apps, rather free or paid apps that for some reason just don't show up. I've narrowed it down to countries. For instance, if I download via Kies a free app from the UK store, it installs fine and I can use it. However it won't show up in phone apps, thus preventing me from re-downloading or re-installing it at a later date.
Has anyone else noticed this? At first I thought my phone had a bug, or that I had reached a max limit of apps that would display on the phone apps. But now I'm starting to this it is a bug, or is actually like this by design.
i think it is design. but is it not that if u download and install via kies from another country other than your native one it will not show in download section??
It should show up. I mean my main store is the AU one, but often there are free apps on the UK, ES and other ones. The apps install fine using Kies. But they don't show up in the downloads section at all. I even tried submitting a Q&A with Samsung but it never accepted my submission oddly. Anyway that's another issue.
I'm not sure if it's by design or not, but it gives even more credence that it's best to install apps using Kies. Then you have a backup of the app if you want to re-install later.
But the best tip I can give everyone is this. Create separate accounts for the different countries's app stores. It's easy to just download an app and not bother, but it's well worth the effort. That way you can also login and re-download the app at a later date too. I created a UK, FR, ES, RU account and continue to do so for any free app I am going to download. Since other countries apps dont' seem to show up in the downloads section, I can't recommend enough taking the short time to have multiple accounts.
For some reason I cant make any in app purchases or purchase apps from the app market anymore. I can download free ones no problem, but whenever I go to download one that costs money, I get a pop up error that says "ERROR- An error occured. Please try again later."
I believe this only started happening after I installed the custom rom "Codename Android" which i completely love and would like to keep.
Anyone know what to do to get this to work?
Thanks

Hello all,
Has anyone been able to get apps from multiple regions working on their Fire TV? I have been able to change locations and download apps but when I switch between regions (by deactivating my account and activating a new one), all apps fail saying 'App Not Owned' and they quit.
If I leave the 'App Not Owned' dialog up long enough, it changes to 'Authorization Expired - The time to authorize the user has expired' so I'm assuming Amazon is checking the titles against the logged-in user account.
I tried to install the app as one user, then pull the APK from the device using adb and then sideload the APK once I changed regions and was logged in as a different user. That didn't help.
Currently, I have it working so that I just deactivate and reactivate my accounts and the apps stay in place without losing my settings. Just a bit of a pain in the butt when I want to switch from ESPN (US) to Zattoo (Germany) or similar.
I
Does anyone have any thoughts as to how to get this working? I have multiple Fires (including rooted ones) that I can use to test.
Thanks,
Greg
HI,
I have just one account (US account) but I'm in Ireland. I'm using a Smart DNS. I have downloaded Apss to the cloud on amazon.com by changing my device country settings which I think you've done and works fine.
e.g. US account, downloaded TVplayer (UK App), works fine and US Netflix account etc also work. I am not switching my accounts on the Fire TV. Maybe it's the smart DNS is the difference.

The apps get your location from the IP address. You didn't mention anything about changing that, so that is why it's not working for you.
No, I have a Smart DNS provider and have no problems getting apps from any region to work. It's just that in order to use apps from multiple regions (WatchESPN from the Amazon US store and BBC iPlayer from the UK store), I have to log out of my Amazon account and into a different account.
Was just hoping to find some way to have these apps on the same homescreen and be able to use them without changing accounts. My Fire TV is rooted if that helps.
