Ok, heres the situation. My Desire is S-OFF, I just flashed a partition table (for Oxygen RC4) from fastboot and it was successful, then did a 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'. The phone then turned off, and didn't come back on :S
I left it for a good 30 minutes, nothing. So I pulled the battery, put it back in, and went to start it... nothing! But when I plug in the charger, the LED lights up green. As soon as I touch the power button, it disappears, and the phone is dead.
Someone help out a poor fellow?
Did you check the MD5 of the download? Maybe the file was corrupt...
Btw, Q&A would have been a better place to post.

Check this post on the PPCGeeks Forum. You will need your original 512 SD card that came with the phone and a card reader for your computer. I bricked my phone trying to upgrade the 3.xxx ROMs and that post fixed everything.

I bricked my phone when upgrading the to the new radio and I COULD NOT boot. The link I posted showed how to boot directly into the Bootloader with a SD card formatted to Fat32, so that I could then re-run the Coke's SPL.
Again I couldn't boot. I didn't get anything on the screen, only the LED stuck on RED.
Yeah, I had that too. Fortunately, I had a warranty and was able to get a free replacement, but it was very annoying

Uhhhh.....I just read over the first post to remember the situation, and found this bit in your orignal post, correct me if I'm wrong, I hope you know jim, but I don't think you were supposed to change the .nbh file at all.
this picture is how my phone looks ,this is all it that it does.
I've seen a couple of threads such as this with no real solution.
I've been happily using my Desire for months without changing roms or whatever (CM7 and s-off) until last night I opened my Dolphin browser and before it loaded the homepage it froze, totally un-responsive. I took the battery out, and to my horror, it was still totally un-responsive. Wouldn't respond to pressing the power button, pressing volume down+power, charger, or usb.
The battery at the time was about 50%, I've had the battery in and out about 100 times now, trying things like leaving the battery out and then trying again, keeping it on 'charge' for a while and trying to get it booted, with no response at all.
This was until an hour ago, I hopefully tried to boot the phone after the battery, sim and sd card had been out for a while and I got a vibration, and then it hung on the flash screen. I had to remove the battery, then tried to boot again with no response, so I left it a while again, put the battery in and got to the bootloader, thought I'd get into recovery and try a nandroid or something, only when I selected recovery it hung on the slash screen again.
Does anyone have any ideas what this is, or how this could be fixed? Damn I hate not being able to use my previously awesome phone!
I apologise for the long post, I'm just trying to give a good explanation of things. I just couldn't see the problem being my battery, only the day before the problem I was telling my friend how great the battery life on my phone is, and that he should give rooting a go and use CM7, this probably hasn't swayed his decision to root his phone.

did you try rebooting it without sdcard?
If you manage to get it running , try to flash a shipped ROM - it should unroot you and fix any software problems . Try taking it back to your carrier as that sounds more like a hardware problem.
you are stuck on HTC screen are you not? Then this is the exact same situation is it not?

"I'm S-ON, I can't boot recovery, and my phone doesn't boot "
This is a bit of a worse situation, as you cannot flash system critical parts such as the recovery image and just restore a backup. This unfortunately means that you will lose all of your data when you attempt to fix the phone.
[STEP1]- Make sure that you have a goldcard. If not, create one from the tutorial.
[STEP2]- Battery pull. Hold the BACK button and the POWER button to boot into FASTBOOT mode.
[STEP3]- Download the latest WWE RUU from here
[STEP4]- Run the RUU and wait for completion WARNING: DO NOT, BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INTERRUPT THE PROCESS - THIS WILL MORE THAN LIKELY END UP WITH A BRICKED PHONE - NOT EVEN IF GOD HIMSELF TELLS YOU TO DO SO, OR IF THE US PRESIDENT THREATENS YOU WITH THERMO-NUCLEAR WAR
[STEP5]- Once the phone is booted, you are now returned completely to stock. You will need to re-root again, and I'd recommend S-OFF

I have been onto them. The response from HTC was amazing, after detailing in an email my phone is dead, won't respond and won't turn on.
I was told, 'while the phone is on, remove the battery and sim and perform a soft reset, if this fails, perform a factory reset, through settings'
I replied asking them how much it will be for them to fix it, they haven't replied! Maybe they don't do weekend!
So if I send it off to them, are they going to frown upon me for fiddling with the phone and rooting etc?
Hello xda developers I really need your help I looked every where can't find an answer
So here is the problem I used wanted to root my desire us but forgot to s off it.
After that I found out that my phone can turn on but it takes 10-15m to fully turn on fully
Its like this after I less the power button takes about 3-5m to get to a white screen with HTC logo and its vibrating when gets
To white screen with HTC logo after vibrating 3-5m the vibrating stops and after 3-5m it turns on.
Cant go to recovery mode or clock works mode phone rooted at the moment to go to hoot I need to use
CNET with command and reboot bootloader can't control hboot with volume buttons or power its stuck
Ruu not working can't get to recovery as its stuck in HTC logo screen after vibration.

This is not the case, I mean when I press the power button it takes the phone 3-5m to get to the white screen with HTC Logo with vibration after 3-5m later vibration stops after waiting about 2m the phone starts up(TOOOOOOOO much time) In any system used to have Froyo still had to wait that time, Help me fix it and make my phone start up like before...

I had the same problem. I had tried everything bad nothing help. I have flash boot.IMG and the boot loader himself bud nothing.
So go back to stock for repair. T is your motherboard. (The chip were your bootloader is) you can tried flash the boot loader but Jo must have radio s off.(this can not be undo this not the same as eng-s off) If you have radio s off your warranty void. So go back to stock that is what I has do. Good luck
You can run the ruu>conect>usb>run adb >adb reboot bootloader> wait max 10 min>the screen is white you must waist for fastboot USB take 5 min> start ruu.
I din't help me but maybe you are lucky

Dit you use AAHK for eng-s bootloader(mine was broken by the tool form kloyo nothing personal)
It is not adviseable to flash the ENG HBOOT on ACE devices SHIPPED with Gingerbread. This can cause a severe boot problem.

Hey guys!
I need a little help: my phone has rebelled against the law of physics and somehow slipped from the side of the bath into the hot water. Basically everything works, but the screen's touch.
No problem, I've made a contract with my carrier for such case.
But I'm running Cyanogenmod 10. I'd like to RUU it back to Sense. Should I try it before I take it to the carrier? Do I have to interract with the screen during the process of RUU?
I've connected my phone in fastboot mode, my computer recignizes it perfectly.
Thanks for your help!

I know, but as I had stated I have made +warranty with this device for such cases with the carrier.
Nvmd, starting to RUU back.
Since it is obviously not a software failure i don't think you have to revert back to stock. I am pretty sure it will work to go back as far as "fastboot devices" and "adb devices" gives you back an adequate info.
If it was me and i had some spare time i'd revert it anyway, just to be sure.

Howto is ok. Stick to it. Plug in the phone to your wall charger first to make sure you have got enough power. In the fastboot bootloader you can see your current H-Boot but not if you upgraded it. If you can't remember doing anything to your H-Boot you didn't upgrade i guess...

Try vol_down+power combination or backkey+power...In case of a faulty button...
If not try to put the phone in fridge for 20 mins as this helps with the chipsets and then power it on.

i'm sure it will not work because after 30 mins attached to the power supply the mobile is cold... no signs of charging
Are you sure the phone is closed?Unplug the battery and plug it in and dont press any key...just plug your phone to the charger.if not again im afraid your phone is bricked...
and there is a difference between fridge and just leave it..Put it in the fridger.Low temperatures sometimes makes some chips to work and with this way we may open it.

Were you on stock hboot when you flashed the ruu? Did you pull out the battery too fast? It couldn't have just bricked itself...
He mentioned that he was in stock hboot..Maybe this is a mb problem in memory, problem in battery or dont know.....
