WHAT THE TITLE SAYS WHAT HAPPEND TO THIS THREAD ON THE ANDROID DEVELOPMENT
[ROM] 12-21 Salvage-Mod .9.1 Gingerbread!! 8mp Cam... EVERYTIME I CLICK ON IT SENDS ME TO THE [ATTN - ALL ANDROID DEVS] General Public

It got closed

they closed more than that one today, yours is just locked, can still be read, can't post.
just opened it in my tapatalk

But why they closed it im using that rom and i woould like to know if theres updates o no . Mmm dats not good for the people that are using that rom..

I'm using this rom as well and it is truly frustrating.
I'm not sure on specifics on how or why there was a failed compliance with the GPL?
I understand the need for forum moderators and administrators to enforce rules, but as always, the lack of explanation when a particular thread is closed seems to hurt the users not just the developers.
Besides XDA where can we follow the development of the Salvage-Mod Gingerbread rom?

I dnt think so i was searching on ppcgeeks n i couldnt find anythng. I think we have to wait foer the dev. To post another thread o something cuz i like this rom so far i have no problem at all well just the gps

Developpers what do you think about..??
Would be great, this has been done with several android phones already would be sweet if we could have dualboot fun too.
They think that you should post this in the correct section...

If you can't be bothered to read the rules before you post, don't expect a proper reply
I think that if it is here developpers can have more attention for that than in an other section

I agree, should not be posted here yet.
As Allgamer has said in this thread:
You may start planing a [DEV] topic on General or QA and then have it moved to the Galaxy S i9000 Android Development section once the actual Development has started.
Didn't you have another thread a few days ago asking the same thing?
Ok I will start a [DEV] topic on General..
so...

if threads get closed it may or may not be justified. I know of some significant cases of wrongful thread closing/moving etc.. Since so much stuff gets deleted here, one must be forgiven if s.o. cannot read up to certain cases, such as CIPS GOHKLE. so what was the problem there ?

i know your intension and you are just helping bro. but the mods have rules in closing threads and they gave their reasons why they are closing some threads. some cm7 thread where closed because its for development only and it became a off topic and Q &A thread and the OP have no further development in porting the rom. maybe mods only teach us how to be a responsible member here in xda.I know you know what i'm talking about you are a senior member in xda. thanks..

Great one mai thanks for the thread, and about news yes you right
Well if you look at most of the Dev threads here 50 out of 60 pages are people asking for updates or or saying wow this is great.
They are probably being closed to teach a lesson. Not that anyone will learn.

There's no need. You may as well delete it. First off, most likely you won't get a reply because currently alpha0 is the latest version. Next, you've listed problems that developer is fully aware of and is working to fix them. Patience is needed. alpha1 is out on Saturday. You should pay attention to the forum posts for CM9.
In addition: questions DO NOT go in dev! ESPECIALLY not as their own thread. Please post in General from now on!
From the thread rules forum, second sticky down from the top (unbelievable that people miss this stuff )

MOD EDIT: BEFORE POSTING ANY THREAD IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
If you have developed a ROM, or are working with others to do so, the development forum is somewhere to discuss and share ideas, post useful feedback and logs or crash dumps, and to discuss a common goal developers are trying to achieve.
It is NOT the place to post your question because it gets higher traffic, or because more experienced users frequent it. Doing this just annoys those who are working on the device, and drives them away. Developers don't want to wade through 20 threads of "Help me urgently" to find their threads for porting and fixing camera issues etc. Similarly, if a thread is designated as discussion for developers say, porting a camera fix, please do not post in there asking "When will it be ready?", "Can I flash this yet?" etc. This is both completely disrespectful to those working on the project (you evidently haven't read the important posts in the thread), and also is making it harder for developers to find comments from other developers or testers when required.

If you are posting in development, you should have read every sticky and notice there, and should be actively developing or helping in the development of something. Developing isn't installing a ROM, or using a tweak, it's creating a ROM or other hack or tweak.

If you make a clear, concise, yet detailed post, you will find help forthcoming, and should get the problem sorted very quickly. If someone suggests you try something, report back on what happened, did it work etc. Then, next time someone has this issue and searches, they will find this and have a verified and tested solution.

So remember... before you start a thread in development, ask yourself what you are developing. If you can't answer, then stop, step away from the post button, and think about where you are posting. Would it be better in General or Q&A, or is some more time with your best friend, search, required?

I think it's kinda bull**** for the mods to even spend this much effort closing threads on a phone as old as ours. It won't accomplish much more than to get people to leave XDA.

totally agreed
i mean devs are doing a great job still supporting our device but mods are clsing their threads fr nt mentioning the kernel source.
we don't even have kernel source yet!! for gods sake!!
These threads are being closed due to non compliance with GPL rules. These are not just xda rules. First step I took was to contact the dev individually and ask for them to comply with providing a link to kernel source and after days of waiting there was no responses. So the next step was closing their threads till they complied. These rules are stated on xda and are strictly enforced. Some of the devs have responded and stated that they no longer support their rom thread and to close it as well. Oh and BTW this thread is now closed too

Petition: Reopen PhoeniX ROM thread

Dear XDA Moderators,
I don't know the reason why, but Tamirda's PhoeniX ROM thread has been closed due to pending investigation.
I'd like to speak on behalf of all (probably thausands) users of this great ROM and kindly ask you to give us back our forum.
@PhoeniX users: Please show your commitment by adding a comment here.
Thank you all!

I think a lot of people would agree with this but from what I have seen the dev of the rom has a bit of an attitude problem but I admit his rom is great.
What would be even better is if the mod team would give more info on whats going on instead of just basicly saying ha this is locked!
Anywho +1

I know what you're saying and I don't want to excuse any violation of the forum rules, but this guy is just 17 years old and we must not expect him to act as cool-headed as we probably had when receiving such insulting messages. However he did apologize and that should be enough in my view.
But as you wrote, I'm too just guessing the reason for the close-down
I read they did reopen.
